Six minutes into the game I said to myself: Man, the game pace really went up since last time I played SC2. And the casters are so quick with their reactions and one of them speaks soo damn fast! Turns out I ran the video at 1.5x speed.
One little thing that I find a lot of players don't know... if you lose your Roach Warren, you can't morph Ravagers, so losing it, even if it's just a Drone and 150 minerals to rebuild it, can really put a dent in your immediate plans. P.S. Sick game!
Dark is an absolute unit for managing to break out of that wall. I would've have built some Brood Lords to even have a chance to break out, and he did it without any siege units!
Wow fantastic job @sc2hl ! Really glad you're back. Your highlights never disappoint and incredible editing. Makes a long game like this feel like game of the year!
I love that Hero was doing like, Campaign AI bases in the bases he was denying Dark from taking for so long. A couple of canons, a shield battery or two, a warp gate.
@@cugamer8862 carriers against zerg can work great if you have massive income lead, which hero did have. Those big bois are hella expensive to start with, and interceptors can be a huge mineral sink over a long game when the zerg trades efficiently, like dark did. But yeah, it's rare and i'm happy to see toss win a pro pvz for a change
I don't get why hero didn't attack the mining bases up north, instead choosing to defend from the established wall and attack the useless leftmost non-mining base.
Dark is the only zerg player that crushes air toss without corruptors, it's always surprising how well he does with fungals and biles or queens with microbial shroud which isn't the typical response. It's crazy how he deals with air with units that aren't typical for that
man, this game shouldn't have been this close. All hero had to do was to not stack the carriers, and he would have won any fight except for in the worst-case scenario where all his carriers get neural-ed. If he just spread them out a bit, he could have literally a move the carriers and win, using maybe the disruptors to focus fire the infesters.
Wish SC2 units has bigger collision especially air units. You can start with your Vikings or Corruptors completely spread across you're whole screen but as soon as the engagement starts they will stack again
Carriers are a weirdly bad unit, because they seem like they should be good, but they always just don't do much, and i don't know why that is. I know there's probably a reason every protos game gets to mass carrier, but i don't quite know what it is.
I thought it was interesting that near the end Hero had a roughly even mix of carriers and tempests. That seemed like a good idea. Massing mostly one unit type makes things easier to control of course so that's why I think players do it and Hero had a lot of trouble spacing his carriers apart so they all didn't get caught in a single fungal and bile manoeuvre. This is why I mostly stopped playing StarCraft: it makes unit control much harder than other games and then calls it a skill curve. It's not fun to play (but still fun to watch).

And there was 2 bases he could happily have stuck infrastructure on, and either gone to fully saturate them straight away or just bleed some probes onto them as other bases mined out.
