Who knew you were such a camera bug! Finally cooling off here, I'll be back out in the garage to work for the next three months. Glad you're having some fun revisiting your past, this has been fun!
Well Loz.. I had a crash course on cameras.. nice, and apart from seeing you back on UA-cam which is always a pleasure ! All I heard was a new SHED 😃 bring it on mate 💪 looking forward to seeing that next year !! watch that back though , take care bud. CHEERS Rob
Grumpa!!! Great to see ya! Thanks for the camera lesson. Looks like it's gonna be a busy 2025 for you! I like a variety so you waffle on! Take care Buddy. See ya on the next one.
John! 😀 good to hear from you buddy. Yup, just couldn't get away with Nana Sues condition ( in case you missed it she finally passed away last summer.) have taken taken a rest to gather my thoughts and will be doing more in 2025. Downsizing the kit: just keeping the Xpro-1 and the one lens for the moment for some street work- like I said the kids are persuading me to upgrade from an iPhone 11 to the new 16 pro and some add-on lenses.... tho like I said:I've been saving since 2010 and have a LeicaQ in mind for my "forever kit". just too tight to part with th pennies! take care bud... 😀👍
Love the camera gear! I loved my Fuji stuff - the 16mm 1.4 was particularly spectacular on the XT3. It’ll be a while before I can get a decent lens selection note I’ve switched to Sony, definitely needing a long lens for some nature stuff. That 6x8 really is a MONSTER! Surprised you haven’t gone down the Fuji GFX route, but that really is bonkers for normal use. Check out the Hollyland Lark 2 microphone as well, they do a receiver that plugs directly into iPhones and is the absolute best wireless mic I’ve used. Will it be a Ricoh you’re saving up for I wonder! Oh and knives, I love em, but I’ve also gone fully into Victorinox SAK (Swiss Army knife) collecting, it’s very addictive - and cheap second hand 😂
@@WoodworkJourney yup, Fuji really were ahead of the curve with their x-trans sensors and the Fuji recipes ( that have become so popular as “filters” on Instagram etc…. Even Leica have adopted “leica look” digital recipes….) I really considered the GFX line too….. but found them heavy/expensive for landscape work ( oh my aching back!) still dithering about the way forward - hence keeping the xpro 1 and a single lens. For the moment Thinking about the dji pocket 3 for for channel filming- an upgraded iPhone seems overkill as i use the front face camera and screen for filming. Ricoh is a close contender: what I have been agonising over is the Leica Q3 as a final “one and done” just too tight to part with the pennies 🤣
Hi Grumpa, do you reckon MPB is a better bet than advertising on eBay? Like you,I’m having a clear out of my Nikon camera and lenses that simply haven’t been used for years.
Charlie: Its just 'cos I'm lazy and don't want the hassle of Ebay. Shops usually offer 45-50% of current 2nd hand prices so price out what your stuff is going for on eBay and see what you can live with. I found MPB online really easy to scope out and got a quote by return ( and they organised a free DPD pick up) Ive also used London camera exchange who do the same. Just make sure everything is cleaned and makes the right click noises before parting!
End of an era! Phew, for a minute I thought for a moment you were closing down your workshop!!! Good to wee you again on the tubes. All the best mate.
