Actually skytrax is not really a scam.Just that at times 5 star rated airlines like lufthansa deproved or maybe for that flight their standed was not that good
No way Turkish Airlines is a 3star airline . I think Turkish and Lufthansa should switch scores
5 star for that airline who serves their pax like that with their reason for "efficiency"?? Meh.. Better not to ask or pay the skytrax for the rating..
Mazen Mady Agreed, especially considering that 2020 and onward Turkish will have a superior international Business class seat. Not to mention, they’re already superior now since they at least have real seats and an outstanding soft product.

That Arik Air A340-500 has to be CS-TFW and is stored since February of 2015 at Lagos. So it takes roughly 4 Years to make a plane look like that :O
What can you say, it's Nigeria. I have seen ex-Nigerian Airlines A310s, 737s as well as any number of other failed airline upstarts over the decades rotting at LOS.
cameraman655 In a school trip to Ghana in primary school, just before landing we saw an abandoned airplane just off the runway. So yeah, it doesn’t only happen in Nigeria
Is it also because Lagos is quite a humid environment, so that’s how the mildew and all that gunk got stuck to it?
All these years that ive been to lagos in the holidays ive seen it there. its sad to see a beautiful bird to be abandoned
As it looks, this particular A340-500 was initially ordered by India's Kingfisher Airlines, but they never took delivery.
It then was acquired by Portuguese Airline Hi-Fly and leased to Arik Air from 2008 to 2015, when Arik started to get into financial trouble. It has been sitting idle at LOS airport ever since.
Without proper ventilation, the cabin will quickly get covered in mold, there will be corrosion abound, technical fluids deteriorate... and soon, without continuous maintenance, this aircraft can only be sold for scraps, at best. Today, it will be a costly operation to properly dispose of this plane...

The Arik Air A340-500 looked so bad, thats really sad not propably stored like most planes just sitting thiee and rotting away :(.
It was one of the most beautiful A345 liverys and the A345 alone is a beauty.

Important to note most airlines use their older product on flights to Africa...so, expect both service standards and hard product quality to be below the norm.
p.s Lufthansa do actually offer decent service in this flights, can't say that for others.
Agree with that, but for big cities in Africa, are they using newer airplane with newer layout cabin on this flight?
This isn't an interior Business Class, it's the exact same product Lufthansa offers on all of their long-haul flights, even on their brand-new A350s...

LH business class looks dated and tired.
New one is coming with the introduction of the 777x. The 2 2 2 configuration is for me the worst thing about the businessclass of LH nowadays

This may be a dumb question but keep in mind I have never flown business class before. When you are in the lie flat position do you still have to have your seat belt on?
You should keep your seatbelts fastened while you're seated regardless the position of the seat.
No, you don't. Once the flight is cruising, you don't have to use the seatbelts sitting or lying down. Usually, when there is some turbulence, the fasten seat belt sign might come on our the pilot might make an announcement to wear seat belts.
Generally, they will say keep seat belts on during the whole flight but once at cruising altitude, you don't have to.

Basing all the videos I watch between Lufthansa and Turkish Airline, Lufthansa doesnt deserve the 5 Star Rating and so does Turkish Airlines 3 Star. Should be opposite in my opinion..
