Amazing how the captain ALWAYS corrects each detail of the readback of the FO, demonstrating a perfect situation awareness! I would be safe of flying as one of his passengers!
Automation indeed provides big help to pilots. Amazes me to see the pilots relaxing at the early part of the video as if they are just passengers on board.
A Human - You think you are correct because you heard the Airbus has more automated systems. However, within the context of discussing the landing distance we are discussing the ILS system so your statement is incorrect. Boeing and probably all commercial planes now have that system. You will notice that they switched off autopilot because they could see the runway. The audible "calculating" landing distance is on the Boeing planes as well.
You made a statement that "Airbus' FBW (Fly-By-Wire) system is more in control rather than Boeing". The GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System) callouts are on all of these commercial jetliners. Same for the ILS system. So what are you talking about? You don't know do you?
Fantastic movie! Fantastic pilots. I remember in 1989 I came back from seing the Berlin Wall falling in november on an Air France flight. The captains welcomed me and my friend in the cockpit of the new A320 during landing. We were just 18 years old. Harnessed in our seats just behind them. I was so surprised to see they landed the plane from a crosswind leg at CDG as if they were driving a car in a parking slot. Here it is the same feeling when we see this crew spoting the runway less then 30 seconds before touching and everything seems so easy. European pilots deserve such good planes.
I fly flight sim for fun but couldn't do that job. That plane looks more like a starship than a plane. Pilots did an incredible job managing the work load and flying the plane.
This is the best banter I've ever seen on these videos. Most are totally void of any personality whatsoever. And I'm certain it's only that way with a camera crew filming. These guys were actually fun to watch. Awesome.
To clarify the BTV taxiway system. They programmed the system to leave at taxiway Romeo. They did leave Romeo at 15 kts. The miscommunication was Tower suddenly asking them to make a left turn immediately. Hence the “we missed that one, we have to take Romeo”. So the BTV system worked perfectly. Boston tower didn't know (maybe they should have been told in advance?) - hence the miscommunication.
But Boston tower doesn't know what taxiway BTV is set to. Unless that communication is made, they will instruct aircraft to vacate when taxi speed is expected.
Completely understood. I was just emphasizing the importance of communication from both ATC and pilot. ATC will try and free up the runway as soon as they can to make room for the next arrival -- or even more likely after a heavy arrival -- a departure on the same runway with an arrival close behind. Not that this was the case in the video, but it is a common scenario.
Yeah absolutely. I'm surprised tower didn't instruct them where to vacate during the landing clearance, it's sometimes done like that. Or atleast at touchdown. Maybe they were just too busy not to mention the weather causing extra hassle.
AviationHub It’s rare that tower instructs pilots where to exit the runway as we never know exactly where that will be depending on braking, touchdown point, runway contamination, wind, weight, etc etc. We are told to land and hold short of crossing runways sometimes which we can say we’re “unable” to do.
I am not a pilot, but after playing around with Extreme Landings, it is fun to be able to read the controls and have a general idea of what is going on and to see them in action in real life.
wow, I just checked this video expecting to see only 5 seconds of it just to get a quick picture of this plane but actually I stayed for the whole thing, this is simply amazing and really interesting, nice plane, nice pilots and nice camera angles, thanks for making a video out of this flight
Amazing video. These pilots are such great guys. So intelligent, great teamwork, awesome skills, and love their personalities too. It's a tough job, but they make it look easy. Computers and technology does help tremendously compared to old airplanes 50-60 years ago, but still, even today, the pilots do have to rely on their own brains and make sure all of the math is right when it comes to landing, including weather conditions, other air traffic around them, and planes on the active runway. They are responsible for a plane that costs hundreds of millions of dollars, plus their own lives and those of hundreds of passengers. I have so much love and respect for commercial pilots. Also, the air traffic controllers are also great people, who are often not appreciated enough for all their hard work. It's a tough job.
Daniel Hergert it’s a dynamic checklist, so once relevant items have been performed they’re automatically checked, so fuel pumps, cabin signs, exterior lights etc have already been completed, so upon opening the checklist there was only the parking brake left to check. They have this on newer Boeing’s too, it used to confuse me hearing “after takeoff checklist..........checklist complete!”
Ikr. But, as others said as well, it is particularly a North American ATC thing to speak as awful and as fast as possible. And just as bad: The constant use non-regulated "slang" words/phrases, abbreviations, etc... No biggie for a North American pilot but for non native English speakers it can be a real challenge and cause risks.
one of the best videos I have seen with very clear communication between pilots and even the ground. Both pilots are totally focused on what the aircraft is doing even tho it is not a sterile cockpit, excellent in my humble opinion.
its what they are trained to do from first days of flyign. tis for the voice recorder in the event of an accident. it also focuses the modn on what you are doing and when. you should try it whilst driving you will eb amazed at how much you do instinctually and dont think about.
Everything happening in milliseconds blows my mind but you can tell that even these pilots are human with a bit of a mix up on where to go after the landing BUT I so respect and thank God for every pilot that many take for granted.
6:26 I hate it when controllers talk so fast - especially knowing that it’s Lufthansa Pilots second language. - He didn’t even get to read back the 170 knots to the final fix.
Holy shit this thing is advanced lol. Calculating the landing distance, which taxiway they'll turn off, how much braking is required to exit at that taxiway. That's crazy!
VAGAS INT. They missed the turn the controller asked them to take (runway 33R) which was before the turn the BTV was targeting (taxiway R). They did end up turning at taxiway R, so BTV did not miss its intended turn.
AviationHub oh fair enough then, maybe both anti ice systems are linked? I’m not sure how the 350 works 😂 but yeah you are right they probably didn’t film it.
Kudos to all airline pilots operating on the level of these guys. I think you are the genesis of our very near future space pilots. Your skills will be needed.
MThef You are in such a great place, trust me. If aviation is truly your passion and you really do get ‘that feeling’ like you say - then you’ve got the world ahead of you man. Better be too young than be too old! Start preparing now! If you *really* want it, you will find a way to be an airline pilot when your older. I never committed to becoming a pilot until I was 25. I’m getting there slowly but I’m still looking a few years ahead. I spoke to the captain when I last went on holiday and he never started aviation seriously until he was 25 also. So you can do this. Get studying, keep learning. Play flight sim seriously! And I wish you all the luck in the world 👍🏽 ✈️
Same advice here MThef :) -- you gonna do it, it is much easier than you might think :) -- there 're also kind of "invitation videos" on YT from different airlines which gives you insights :) -- Good luck and happy landings :)

1mins I think
Amazing how the captain ALWAYS corrects each detail of the readback of the FO, demonstrating a perfect situation awareness! I would be safe of flying as one of his passengers!
The Copilot checks the Pilot whether he is still concentrated.
Automation indeed provides big help to pilots. Amazes me to see the pilots relaxing at the early part of the video as if they are just passengers on board.
Incredible! I did not know that A350 has this systems that can calculates the landing distance. Really cool!
Magno Oliveira the Airbus A380 is basically a giant computer
John Farr Airbus is the best
Boeings can do that to....
Awesome.
FO: Very fine landing
CA : Sank you!
FO: Given the conditions....
Savage.
Given the wet runway and heavy aircraft, R was completely reasonable, but yeah I think they should have told tower their plans.
So satisfying to watch this kind of professionalism. I like the mix of German and English language as well.
wow, I just checked this video expecting to see only 5 seconds of it just to get a quick picture of this plane but actually I stayed for the whole thing, this is simply amazing and really interesting, nice plane, nice pilots and nice camera angles, thanks for making a video out of this flight
Great Video, thank you very much gentlemen for taking us on your flight.
Such a beautiful aircraft. The avionics on the new Airbuses are unreal
Macht Spaß den beiden Piloten zuzuschauen. Ein echtes Team. Toll und beeindruckend.
The way these men effortlessly switch between the German and English languages is incredible.
You get once you use 2 languages often enough on daily basis. It's like flipping a switch in your head
"Vorbereitung ist alles" is probably the most german thing said in this video:) love it!
Wonderful video, very profssesional flight crew, Captain knows his stuff
"Parking checklist" Parking brake? "Is on" Parking checklist completed -- wtf xD
This would be confuse me too.. haha :D Never heard about that
For aerosexuals this would be easily applicable for operating your car.
Going out to get groceries.
-Eggs? -Got it

Peter Shen hahaha 😂
Hats off to Pilots eye team..very well made every series...Like a movie
Ever get the feeling ATC is just talking as fast as possible to test the pilots? lol
Kinda but North American ATC is the worst it's not like this in the other parts of the world
Macrotron Somehow that doesn’t surprise me 😅
@@Michael.Blackwood Risks being the operative word :S oof!

Nice!
What a attention to detail and swanky aircraft cockpit. Love to see so beautiful scene outside and amazing professional pilots.
I'm sorry but this Airbus cockpit design is just superb so technologically advance in comparison to Boeing's....
100% thats it.
Die beiden Jungs sind so cool, hammer und danke für das tolle Video. Auch die Begrüßung der Feuerwehr für den neuen Flugzeugtyp einfach klasse.
Came here for some one-camera footage of A350 approach, stayed for amazing quality content!
Wahnsinn was heute alles möglich ist. Automatisches Bremsen passend zum Rollweg, genial.
Peter Pan Die Funktion hat der A380 auch schon. Also diese BTV Brake to Vacate
Nosferatu295 nice to know
Well I need to upgrade my A320 (aerosoft) to BTV :D
Nur dass es scheinbar nicht perfekt geklappt hat, sonst hätten sie den Exit nicht verpasst.
@@olli2591 der exit R war berechnet und sie haben diesen auch genommen, nur der Tower wollte früher raus
one of the best videos I have seen with very clear communication between pilots and even the ground. Both pilots are totally focused on what the aircraft is doing even tho it is not a sterile cockpit, excellent in my humble opinion.
You have to love that parking checklist!
This was uploaded the day after my bday!! I was plane spotting the airport that day. A350 is my dream plane to fly.
Did Jeremy Clarkson do the altitude call outs for Airbus on their new A350??
Him calling out for Hammond just before touchdown was so sweet.
Haha!!
yes, yes it is ;););)
@@millll111lllI nice
All you’d hear is Power, power!!!
Very interesting how they can fly while explaining what they are doing. It's a pleasure seeing people having such a fun time while working!
its what they are trained to do from first days of flyign. tis for the voice recorder in the event of an accident. it also focuses the modn on what you are doing and when. you should try it whilst driving you will eb amazed at how much you do instinctually and dont think about.
This vid is a treasure! Thanx so much!
Никогда не забуду то,что я сейчас имел честь видеть,большой респект всем персонажам видео♥️благодарю вас от всей души!!!!!иностранцы молодцы!!!
for me personal the A350 is the best looking modern airliner their is stunning Aircraft
Everything happening in milliseconds blows my mind but you can tell that even these pilots are human with a bit of a mix up on where to go after the landing BUT I so respect and thank God for every pilot that many take for granted.
Loved the video, Great job. It's amazing to see other pilots handle such a modern airplane. I appreciate the video.
My favourite airline and airplane, Lufthansa and A350 what a great combination, thanks for this upload.
Wow, these German pilots are hilarious and super chilled out navigating a wet landing.
@Andhul Dayal , I presume that you are referring to the runway🙄
The map shot at 3:28 was awesome and hilarious! Looks like one HUGE plane party going on over boston
12:32 That Laugh!😂😂 I’m dead. This is amazing!
Wonderful flight and very experience crew. This A350 is a wonder machine..
I can't wait to fly on one like this..
good job for this friendly and professional crew!:) good video and A350 a nice jet :)
10/10 greetings 2 all crews of Lufthansa from Cairo,Egypt . good job.
6:26 I hate it when controllers talk so fast - especially knowing that it’s Lufthansa Pilots second language. - He didn’t even get to read back the 170 knots to the final fix.
Great video. Guys are so professional. Pilot in right seat looks like every German I have seen in the movies :) Awesome!
Holy shit this thing is advanced lol. Calculating the landing distance, which taxiway they'll turn off, how much braking is required to exit at that taxiway. That's crazy!
That feature was developed for the a380 and now ported to all new Airbus airplanes.
I will note that it missed the taxiway though lol it’s not perfect but it is pretty cool
VAGAS INT.
They missed the turn the controller asked them to take (runway 33R) which was before the turn the BTV was targeting (taxiway R). They did end up turning at taxiway R, so BTV did not miss its intended turn.
Such a smooth landing in spite of the conditions.
5:35 did anyone see that he said he was going to put on engine anti ice, but instead he put wing anti ice on?
I missed that! Well spotted. Although the ECAM display does say "ENG 1+2 A-ICE", so I guess they just didn't film that bit.
Good catch, at 7:36 the engine anti ice seems to be on nonetheless.
AviationHub oh fair enough then, maybe both anti ice systems are linked? I’m not sure how the 350 works 😂 but yeah you are right they probably didn’t film it.
CraZy291 yeah or maybe engine anti ice comes on automatically if the the temperature is below freezing 🤔
maybe this was a cut scene that was edited in later. Not too familiar with the A350 though.
Brilliant- all glass - ultra modern screens and silky smooth landing by captain. Brilliantly edited👍
professionalism and perfect CRM in action
What a smooth landing, beautiful aircraft. They are two lucky guys.
10:04 Airbus loves bullying their pilots
Control yolk? Well, sure, we can put that in there. But ... why would you ever want one? :D :D :D
Because pilots are lazy and just turn on Autoland EVERYTIME
That's exactly what my simulator says to me when I'm landing
CinemaDemocratica because I prefer a more hands on aircraft than flyby wire. I screw up everything if there is flyby wire
CinemaDemocratica there’s a side stick instead of a yoke
Kudos to all airline pilots operating on the level of these guys. I think you are the genesis of our very near future space pilots. Your skills will be needed.
Thanks for sharing ..as well subtitle was fantastic
rayban7788 alawi has
Professionalism at its best. I’d fly with them anyday.
That cockpit is utterly mental. Taxi turnoff planning. So impressive
You can see these two have flown together quite a few times before !!
When I watch this I get this superb feeling, I just wanna jump into those pilot studies and get a job as a pilot! Well to bad I’m still too young.
And I wish you all the luck in the world 👍🏽 ✈️
Thank you so much! That really means a lot! Good luck with your life and studies. Wish you luck ☺️
Same advice here MThef :) -- you gonna do it, it is much easier than you might think :) -- there 're also kind of "invitation videos" on YT from different airlines which gives you insights :) -- Good luck and happy landings :)
@@AviationHubOfficial sir can u pls tell if I will actually get to fly the plane if I become a pilot or in few years computers will snatch this power because I want to be a pilot to fly the plane and not just press buttons...pls reply because in next two months I am about to start my flight training ND want to take a wise decision
This is an awesome video. Not speaking a word of German but had a smile on my face all theway!
Awesome to watch. Looks like a very challenging final. And nice to try and learn a little German with a subject of interest.
The visibility. I'm not an aviator though, just someone with an interest in it. So I suppose you are correct, if this was challenging for these folks they would certainly have no business doing it.
Jonathan Clark busy airspace, low visibility, wet runway, strong winds, depleting fuel...
Good atmosphere in that cockpit, well done !! Reassuring
6:10 did the pilot make a mistake saying Lufthansa 421 instead of 424?
It is actually much harder than I thought it was. It takes a lot to be a pilot. Respect
5:33
"Engine Anti-Ice?"
"Yes, please."
*Turns on wing Anti-Ice.*
I suspect that was a bad post prod edit.
Absolute balls of steel putting down in that visibility
I wish you continued success.
These Pilots act like best friends. This is a good thing.
Very nice landing even though didnt see runway till 400ft..
