    So... since the GrandlandX is based on the Peugeot 3008 (they don't only share the same platform, it was really developed from the new 3008), which would you choose?

    Love this car man! Very smooth and soft ride. And this car is fast, it reaches 100 km/h in 7 seconds even though officially announced in 10.5 sec. I have the 1.6L Petrol Turbo, 163 hp. The only catch is in its suspension and shock absorber system. It feels a bit rough in bumpy roads and you can feel the shocks. Not that perfect in absorbing them. But overall, the car is very joyful to ride.

    As I understand Blind Spot Monitor does not get approaching speed in account, so early warning would be annoying during tight lane changes in low speeds, because you get audio warning when you turn on turn indicator with BSP warning, right?

    • @Djeseret
      @Djeseret 6 років тому

      On real Opels you get warning for approaching cars in account and it is not annoying, It gives a sense of security which the PSA technology does not deliver.
      Opel's technique is a bit more expensive.
      You get what you pay for.

    I’ve driven one of these for an extended period and quite like it, it was the 1.2 manual Sport Nav which had loads of equipment and the only two things I didn’t like were the notchy gearshift and the heating element of the windscreen was easily visible which was annoying. Considering you have the ultimate model there is a blank switch in the Centre console which I believe was the child locks on the car I had. If I was buying the ultimate I wouldn’t want blank switches. I also like the brighter interior, mine had the black interior and no panoramic roof so was very dark inside.

    • @autogefuehl

      I have to compare both videos, was it the very same seat?

    • @petcha1982

      Well, no. That's the reason maybe...

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  6 років тому

      Ah, did you check? So it should be normal seat vs comfort seat, which is giving you more comfort for front passenger but I guess that one is thicker and thus reducing rear leg room. Guess it depends then what you prefer/need most. Gotta check that later again myself in the videos, pretty interesting

    • @petcha1982
      @petcha1982 6 років тому +1

      Maybe I am wrong, I rechecked and probably it's the same, the material is different. I don't know, maybe you got taller during the year! haha! If you clarify this, please let me know. Thanks!

      @gordonbennett6057 6 років тому +1

      +Autogefuhl - yes, when you compare the videos, not a great deal of difference either way - rear legroom, generally, a bit disappointing! Small, barely perceptible BLIS warning light, and strange high indicator switch! Liked the light coloured interior of your test car. Very good Review, as always; much enjoyed. Regards to Katharina.

    • @aristotlev825

      Thanks for the prompt reply. I just looked more into this, and to my surprise found out that not all Grandland models fulfill the new Euro6d TEMP standards (unlike the 3008, although they share the same engines). More info can be found here: www.adac.de/infotestrat/umwelt-und-innovation/abgas/modelle_mit_euro_6d_temp/default.aspx . The dealers wont share this information, they just want to sell the stock. I believe this information is of great interest to your viewers, for example I decided to halt buying the Grandland for these reasons. According to various sources I checked, you are right, the new engines are coming this year (June 2018) and will reach the market on October 2018.

    No new cars should have this complicated gear changing system anymore. New german cars actually are going for electronic gear knob.

    Der Grandland X ist für mich vom Exterieur her, der bisher schönste Opel überhaupt !!
    Das Interieur (Lenkrad, Cockpit, Bildschirm, Knöpfe, etc.) und die Motorisierung (der 1.2 Benziner ) können da aber leider nicht wirklich mithalten.
    Unverständlich (schlecht) ist das Raumangebot hinten !!
    Der Grandland X ist 12 cm länger als ein SEAT Ateca und doch ist das Platzangebot hinten viel schlechter, als im SEAT. Thomas ist hinten eingequetscht, wie in einer Sardinenbüchse, während er im 12 cm kürzeren Ateca ganz bequem sitzen konnte !!!
    Das "Package" des Grandland ist leider nicht gut durchdacht.
    Da hätte man zur Not lieber auf den ein oder anderen Liter an Kofferraumvolumen verzichten sollen, statt beim Rücksitz !!
    Der Grandland X ist generell schon "gelungen" , zeigt im Detail aber dann doch einige (unnötige) Schwächen !!

    • @huwjones5879
      @huwjones5879 5 років тому +1

      These cars are not designed as serious off road vehicles. However take a look at the Grip Control/intelligrip videos on UA-cam, its impressive, and certainly enough for this vehicles intended customer base. No need to drag all the weight of an AWD system with the hit on fuel consumption that inevitably brings. Also I looked at your channel and you don't look old enough to drive?

    • @N1N1BOY
      @N1N1BOY 6 років тому +1

      I cannot speak for other brand , but during last week end I had to drove a T-roc (that's what the rental company picked for me) and eventhought its virtual cockpit looks very nice , it can get almost impossible to distinguish what's being displayed when the direct sun light hits the screen... other major problem was that I use polarized sun glasses and depending on the inclination of my head I could barely see the display , so yes virtual cockpits looks awsome but in my opinion they are not pratical when you live in sunny areas and wear sunglasses most of the year, maybe OLED screens will improve the situation ?

      @mikewestwood567 6 років тому

      Sami Saijari Thomas mentioned there will be a hybrid AWD but agreed it is unusual for a flagship model to not have more AWD, especially when the smaller Mokka has it. Perhaps their market research told them it wasn’t popular or it could have been because of Peugeot.

    • @SamSaij
      @SamSaij 6 років тому +1

      Mike Westwood I heard about the hybrid AWD, but I'm pretty sure it will be very expensive compared to the diesel.

    • @Djeseret
      @Djeseret 6 років тому

      PSA has no 4WD technology therefore it is missing.
      Mokka is a real Opel therefore it has 4wd.
      Not because of market research but because Opel believes it should have 4WD.
