      big time! i use the Pocket4k and it has pretty bad IR issues. If i want to use this system with an IR cut on top of full strength, I have to stack 3 filter. Then if I want to use Glimmer glass on top of all that then the system becomes unusuable unfortunately.

    • @damiencooper
      @damiencooper  2 роки тому

      @@leedonohue not sure what glimmer glass is but I can see the system work well with just an IR Filter which Nisi offers as well.
      But the wide angle will still be an issue

      @@damiencooper glimmer glass is just like a pro mist, just a bit different. yea the system with 3 filters works just fine (except wide angles like you already mentioned) when i use the system on my sony its great because i dont need the ir cut. its just when i use the pocket and the situation comes along where i need to stack 4 filter that i run into trouble. nisi makes GREAT IRNDs but for the cicular ones they only come in very limited strengths, very very annoying.

      Nice Review. I struggle between the nisi c5 mattebox and the nisi swift System. The mattebox looks cooler but we cant use 3 Filters at the same time.

    If you don't want vignetting always get 95mm filters. It's bigger but way smaller than putting a filter box in front of your lenses.

    Just get the filters in a larger diameter and use a step up ring so the vignetting disappears. Depending on how many filters you stack, 82mm should clear 77mm threaded lenses already.

    • @damiencooper
      @damiencooper  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, good idea. Doesn‘t work for 82mm and 95mm though

    • @MaxKissler
      @MaxKissler 2 роки тому

      @@damiencooper Depends on the barrel design I believe. I was referring to the Canon AF lens you used. Many cine lenses with such large filter threads have a funnel like design where screw-on filters shouldn't vignette. But it depends on the individual lens I guess. Anyway, looks like a good set of filters.

    I bought the Nisi 1-5, thanks. I used your link. I had tried the Mieke drop in adapter and loved the effect but my AUTOFOCUS didn't work as well with it (on my Canon R5C) - which I tested 3 times just to be sure - and so I sent it back and got the Nisi. It initially seems "harder" than the Mieke to get the sky and ground to look good at the same time but it's not an apples to apples comparison to Mieke because it's a different day. Otherwise, I'll see how I fare tomorrow with a real shoot... Thanks again and congrats with Nalvany - I absolutely LOVED that film. Bravo.

    I wish they would make IRND 32 o 64 for that kit in the future as well.
    In situations where i dont need variable ND, a push-on fixed IRND would be killer idea. ND16 is bit weak for most situations.

    Hi! Great video as always! I have both cameras and I use the Canon EF to RF VND adapter (1.5-9 stops) on the R5C since I mainly use EF glasses. I assume this system is great working with RF glasses, but you demo with EF (the24-70 f2.8) glass. Any reason you opt for this system instead of the Canon VND adapter? My other question is, to use the system with 77mm and 82mm lenses, do you need to buy the whole package in both thread sizes? Thank you for the video!

      Hey, I only demonstrated this with EF glass. The skating sequence was entirely shot on RF.

The rest is just a little tweaking. But I definitely can do another video on it. I’ll also do two videos on all my settings and custom buttons of both cameras very soon (already filmed)
