Best video ever. Whise words. Compliments. I only shoot old gear (xpro1, xt1, 5D classic, D700, etc) and it is what makes me want to shoot. I feel like I make the photo not the software in the camera. Nowadays it's all about eye and face tracking (looking at you Sony gang), what's wrong with focus and recompose? So yes, I agree with everything you say. Btw, love your dog 😀

Great lens. FWIW the newer WR version has a better, marked, aperture ring and IMO feels a little nicer all the way around.

thanks Mike! I saw that while I was making this review hahaha, maybe I should have shopped around a little, but this lens was so cheap and still performs optically sound. Glad Fuji kept upgrading it, because the focal length is fantastic! Now maybe a 2.8 version..?

I'm not certain, but the rectangular rear element may be a resin lens. It would be pressed in a shape that corrects for distortion and decreases the angle of the light at the corners. Lenses can lose more clarity and brightness at the corners on mirrorless cameras versus DSLRs due to the greater angle of light from the rear element to the sensor. I believe it's possible to grind this type of lens from glass but pressing it from resin is more cost effective. You can see a detailed explanation in this teardown of a Canon RF lens. ua-cam.com/video/YH5_nVRWHZ0/v-deo.htmlsi=deLyG9y3cPsxfKmo
