Fantastic interview. I too got into Medaka from that issue of Amazonas. I thought they would be easy to acquire as well, not so much, lol. I did acquire some Youkihi strain this past spring and I find them to have really fascinating behaviour. I thought they would be more like a guppy, but they aren't. They behave a lot more like blue eyes with the males being somewhat territorial and regularly sparring. Cool fish that are very beginner friendly. Good luck on perfecting your own strain! I'm going to keep them going, but this hobby is a thousand points of light for me. I was surprised a couple days ago to receive a couple newly hatched pea puffers and a dozen eggs. For the moment I have started up a pea puffer orphanage. My kids are all about it!
Great interview. Can't wait to see more medaka available in the US. They will be great for those of us who do summer "tubbing" with our fish.
