Hi, Hideya! Are there any good triads or chords in the 13 -tet? I want to learn how to create music in this Equal temperament, but I don't have any guide about chords. Thank you in advance!
Yeah hey if you align your frequencies properly you can sound as musical and more than as 12 tempered. Use 240 Hz as Unison 'B' and make all of your notes from there. Then place your frets if on a guitar. Exactly as frets on a guitar are placed in 12 tempered when you align the frequencies, it becomes POLYPHONIC. College does not teach anyone that, you have to find it yourself. It has more possible keys than 12 i have discovered in frequency alignment. 13 EDO like forever dude.
Unfortunately, I don't use the Ssthares methods. I found out about Sethares' music theory by searching earlier. For the piano, I've tuned a sound source called GIANT from KONTAKT.
these videos are awesome! thanks What 's the process when converting a regular 12 tone song to say a 13 tone song or 7 tone song, etc. when there are more more or less notes?
it would be really hard to convert a 12-TET song to 13-TET or 7-TET afaik. a lot of the intervals are far off. 22EDO has good approximations of justly intonated intervals. you can use the 22 TET system to create a 7 note major scale that is very similar to our standard major scale thats found in our 12TET system. or you can create 7 note scales that have similar functions to our minor scale or any of the modes.
In addition to 22edo (which has two possible diatonic scale options, a just intonation approximation as mentioned, but also a diatonic scale based on superpyth temperament that has supermajor and subminor intervals rather than major and minor), there are plenty of other EDOs that are a realization of meantone temperament just like 12edo is. Most 12-tone music will translate almost 1:1 into tunings like 19edo or 31edo. The circle of fifths doesn't close at 12 notes in those tunings, so you'll end up with a wolf fifth somewhere if you restrict yourself to 12 notes, but 19edo and 31edo make for very approachable alternative tuning systems due to their relation with the history of western music theory.
I think an approach could be: White notes: C D E F G H A B Black Notes: C#/Db D#/Eb F#/Gb H#/Ab A#/Bb This is assuming we have a layout that basically splits the G note on a 12TET into G and H.
You know, your table of just intervals should really be extended to 3:5, 6:7, 4:7, 5:7, 5:8, 7:8. Since these are also solid consonances. Thanks for the weird upbeat tune! And yes i too am praying for the wellfare of us all and that the corona plandemic will be exposed soon and that people will get proper nutritional/herbal treatment curing them, instead of the dangerous vaccine that the powers that be planned before creating and releasing covid19.
@@Fire_Axus Lol! 😂 Actually i like 19edo, at least for 5-limit music, not so much for 7-limit music, although it depends on the skill of the composer and the musician, and also on the timbers/instruments used.
Never mind the technical framework that informs this guy's output. The stuff is compositionally and musically brilliant.
I'm actually astonished, I didn't think it was possible to make 13edo sound this good
Actually never sounds too far out of tune. It's good.
Your music is very underrated. Thank you for making this!
Nice one! 13EDO is quite ridiculous, but you nailed it! Thanks!

This is wonderful! Do you modify the timbre of the piano (using Sethares' methods, or something like them)?

we can add an E#/Fb as the 13; note
I think an approach could be:
White notes:
C D E F G H A B
Black Notes:
C#/Db
D#/Eb
F#/Gb
H#/Ab
A#/Bb
This is assuming we have a layout that basically splits the G note on a 12TET into G and H.
omg madman actuslly went ahead n did it 😂 . whats this, neo classical music 😂?
The Off-tune notes sounds ailenish

Weird comment on a 13-TET video, but OK.
