    You're a hair away from reaching 60mph!!
    The effect of wear and tear is incredible. I didn't expect to see pieces of belt coming off. Good thing you caught it in time, before the S N A P.
    I like that the color on the display changes when you pass 50mph ;)

      @kachiskid  4 роки тому

      Oh she will hit 60, just didn't want to push it on that road. I want to keep the bikes...lol. That 50 mph color change is for a speed warning to remind me not to be dumb. The roads around me are losing speed on their limits. Woodward is down to 45mph, could have sworn it was 50mph just last year. City subdivision streets are getting speed bumps, every 30 feet. Lots of people making mistakes and getting killed. Not trying to add to that stat.

    I just got 12000 miles on my 2009 Kymco Super 8 150 and replaced everything in the CVT with Malossi gear and am totally happy with the quality, I don't know if the original owner of my bike ever had anything replaced I imagine he did so when I got it with just over 4000 miles on it I got 8000 miles without any CVT issues. Many times when the belt snaps while riding you won't know but your crankshaft suffers a slight shift and after that your bendix or starter gear starts binding while cranking until it breaks and if you only change the bendix it will break again until you find metal shavings in your oil from the piston rod bearing, so if you get a belt snap you should change your crankshaft also before it puts stress on your starter gear, bendix, ,,,,all because of a belt snap, thats why it's best to just change the belt at 4000km like the book says even if it looks good.

    That seems to be a Koso or a DLH variator..They work pretty good as i have it..not the way they come...I replaced the plate that holds the guides by a much lower one..Set the plate on a flat surface and compare it to a reg gy6 150 cc variator plate..The Koso or the DHL plate is much higher and it puts too much pressure on the belt because it is intended for racing ,not for everyday use..I am using 16 g and a soft contra spring with a regular plate and it is the best set up i have found..My belt is an 842..I have been using a polybelt out of New Jersey and they last me longer than the fake gates from Ebay.Amazon or Ali express..You should try it and see it for yourself..I smear the variator hole with motor oil and the rollers and the variator posts with shell Zinc additive and it is the best way i have found..I love this set up..You have great take off and excellent top speed while the revs are low..Hi revs on an air cooled engine don't work for me..I use my Eagle 150 cc from 5 to 6 hours non stop and the temp on the head never exceed 100 F, not even in Florida Hot weather..I've been using a crankcase hose and it helps a lot..I also installed a fan to cool the head and the exhaust pipe and it has been excellent..I hope this helps...

    The only difference I could really notice with my 150 between the 835 and 842 is that rpms rise quicker with the 835. I put a new 835 on, it seem to help me out with the bridges. Because usually if I don't hit the bridge in high speeds, my speed will drop too much going on. Well, at least with the 842 and the stretched out 835 stock after 1000 miles. For the most part, the 842 is a replacement for 835. How's your R3 going? Im always juggling issues with my 150. The splines on the variator got stripped down a couple weeks ago. And I think It's about time for a new battery. It's been dying and reading 20v lol It's not the regulator.

    The longer belt rides out further on the disks giving a little more top speed.
    The shorter belt seems to grab a little quicker at take off but you sacrifice the top speed for it.
    I have 13" rims too, and like 10 gram rollers.
    There's also larger 118mm "black maxx" Variator & Variator fan discs that will give you a little more top speed.
    I think if you go 2 gears higher on your final drive you be really happy though..
    I wouldn't go any higher without a Big Bore Kit because your launch speeds going to suffer for it.
    With the 842 belt, stock piston, stock carburetor, 118mm variator, and 10 gram rollers you be topping out in the low 70mph range....which is pretty fast on 13" basketball wheels.

I took off the cvt case and started the bike and noticed that everything seems to work but noticed the front part of the clutch that spins the wheel was not spinning. When I spin it manually the wheel spins but not when the engine is running, just the belt, back part of the clutch, and Variator. The clutch is new so I know the pads are not slipping, only thing I can think of is it’s not getting enough torque for the clutch springs to open the clutch to catch. Your thoughts please.

    I have yamah nmax 125cc 2020 reg got it in March 2020 brand new. I've noticed it is not reaching top end speed and acceleration is poor. I do throttle it about at high speed everywhere, I've covered almost 9,000 miles and have never replaced the CVT belt or Rollers. Do you think that's the problem? I'm not a hands on guy with that kind of stuff. Just know how to ride

    • @kachiskid
      @kachiskid  3 роки тому

      BW, I was under the impression that the Yamaha belts are so good that they don't need to be changed as nearly often as mine. 9000 miles? Bro really, that is a lot! Please confirm when Yamaha recommends that belt and rollers be changed. You are on the right track though. Is this bike fuel injected or or running off a carb.?

    • @brentwatts6130
      @brentwatts6130 3 роки тому

      @@kachiskid I checked the manual. It does say that under normal use the belt shouldn't need to be replaced until 10,050 miles. That's under normal use though. I do throttle mine about everywhere. I brought it in March 2020 brand new, almost 10,000 miles on the bike in less than a year. I've been everywhere on it, very far journeys, in all weather condition. Maybe it needs the valve clearance, it's definitely lost power

      @kachiskid  3 роки тому

      @@brentwatts6130 You could check the valves but that normally is indicated with hard starting. I think if you replace that belt and rollers you will get your power back.
