    I love the design of scooter brakes - a metal butterfly :)
    I was surprised to hear your comment about dust and squeaking. You do such an outstanding job with the upkeep of all the bikes, it was surprising to see that pesky dust; it was quite sneaky, squatting on Hope :)

      @@kachiskid Mine was mangled pretty bad and stuck out way too far. On a hard surface it was impossible to use and on dirt you had to roll it and slam the thing down like the bike is pole vaulting. When it was hitting my new exhaust, it had to go.

    Great video. I recently tried to get my wheel off but was unable to get the piece of metal between wheel and exhaust off. I undid the two bolts and shock from the exhaust side and whacked it with a hammer a few times . What am I missing?!

    • @kachiskid
      @kachiskid  9 місяців тому

      Thank you. I think you are talking about the swing-arm assembly. Attempt to jack the bike up, pressure off the back tire might help. Couple of small hits with a rubber mallet and should pop free.

    I have a problem with mine, i got the right sized brake shoes and replaced it fine but it does not grip it properly. No matter how much i adjust the nut the brake shoes dont lock up the wheel completely. My scooter brake assembly is different, it has a return spring on the bottom, im thinking its the problem as its very hard/old.

      The pads are glazed over..Scrub the glaze off with a magic eraser and totally awesome degreaser...Sand the ring surface...Use a P 60 sand paper and sand the aluminum surface that comes in contact with the brake pads...Scratch it with the sand paper outwards

    Judging by the comments of your average audience. Might be worth mention that those brake shoes were more or less at about half of its useful life!
