@@Dulcess I don’t think she expected her mom to pay for the dress. She mentioned that she was in charge of her own budget. They just explained why her mom wasn’t happy about paying for this dress which in my opinion made total sense.

It appears that this was an advertisement for this designer's work.
The Bride probably got a before-filming offer of a %discount, if she chose one of that designer's dresses, to create the advertisement for them.
I won’t be original there, but it seems highly unprofessional to suggest dresses twice over budget and then insisting on selling previous one.
They are always doing it unless the bride has a large budget then they seem to show the less expensive dresses. Not a good shop for finding such a special dress.

There is no cause to complain here. The mom said right from the start of the appointment/episode that if she was willing to sell the old dress she would pay for any extra costs for new dress.
I hate how the consultant said "its 3000 pounds" and is still there smiling after the freaking bride JUST STATED she had an absolute cap of 1500 :T
It wasn't an absolute cap, that was just the cash amount she had. She has a previous dress to sell that's unworn and worth at least £1000.

Wedding dress shopping with your daughter is a beautiful and emotional experience. I treasure those memories.
As a mom, I would do it for my children in a heartbeat, but I am lucky enough to be able to do so. I think all parents would do it if they could. Sadly, not all parents are fortunate enough to be able to so. Kinda had a feeling this mom was gonna offer if she agreed to sell the dress. Anyone else?
My sons are that lucky. Will never get to go wedding gown shopping.

They have definatley got good dresses under 1500 but they have to trick them by showing the dresses above their budget and emotionally force them to buy the same ... cause the bride cannot just step back after trying on beautiful dress ..that fits perfectly.

I never advocate anyone going over budget. My shoes, veil, jewelry, dress and everything was less than $1,500 USD. BUT what she ended up with is the most beautiful bridal outfit I've literally ever seen. Absolutely amazing. Better than any royal bride in the last century, in my personal opinion.

🐞 Well I agree that it was absolutely gorgeous - however I believe the tactics are borderline emotional blackmail, by letting the bride try on an outfit that is double the price, but only disclosing the cost after everyone has fallen in love with it.

I thought the bride looked stunning in both dresses and very classy. They are also a lot more unusual than the one she bought originally. These are beautiful dresses and I would have expected them to cost a lot more. I would think that the veil & bespoke jacket would add a lot to the cost and we usually only hear what the cost for the basic dress is, so the price seems reasonable to me.

I agree. 3000 doesn’t feel completely unreasonable for the dress with the custom jacket and the veil ! The price of the dress itself was probably much closer to her budget.
That ruching is going to look very dated someday. So many people wore it for a while. Anytime a style has that kind of burst of popularity, it tends to look dated quickly.

Yes! I think it's actually the added pieces and customization that pushed up the price so much.
I'm glad they gave the total cost of the dress, customized jacket and veil since the usually on these wedding dress shows they would have said we can do this and this and add that and then tell the bride the dress is 1500 not mentioning how much the rest is going to cost to duplicate the look.
I dont know why, but i think a simple veil with minimal lace would have looked much better on that dress. Its a lot going on with the dress + jacket + that heavily embroidered veil🤔🧐

The dress she chose is very regal and elegant. The photos will be far more stunning than what you'd get in "modern" gowns that look like unlined corset tops with skirts stitched on.

I'm never really floored by the dresses offered, only by a handful, but the first dress with the jacket and veil was absolutely astonishing. My nose started to burn as I realized I was about to cry at how beautiful dresses #1 and #2 looked on the bride. Very royal, but elegant dainty and classy. How I would want to look on my day.

I'm glad the bride is happy with her final look, but tbh if this was my appointment I would be rather offended, as the appointment should be about me and not the designer that the shop is peddling or the bridal shop's sales.
I bet it's not as they portray, she probably already sold it or was going to anyway. They're just using it to make her story interesting and different.

To anyone who wants to come looking for a wedding dress at the Confetti & Lace boutique, I suggest you prepare a budget of 2000-2500 and above. Because I think most of the dresses there are just expensive. Also, when a consultant asks for your budget, only tell half of the original amount of the budget. If a consultant recommends a dress that is more than that “half” budget, you won’t be upset to pay for it because your budget is more than you informed the consultant. I think this way you can still buy the dream dress within your budget.
I would have sold the other dress immediately after I called off the engagement.

Yes I absolutely agree. Both dresses were beautiful and quite classy, the jacket however made them look quite busy and a bit matronly and took away from the sweetheart neckline that actually flattered her more.

I don’t like any of the dresses. I’ve seen Ian Stuart’s show that is about his boutique, and I’ve liked all his dress, but not these. Also, if they put me in a dress that was double my budget and the consultant told me to sale my old dress to pay for it I would’ve lost it on her!Absolutely inappropriate to do that! She’d be lucky to get a couple hundred dollars for the old dress! I’m sure it’s a couple seasons old. Wouldn’t be enough to afford that new dress. I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t even get the new dress after all. Then there’s alterations that cost money too. They always forget that 🙄
I have noticed that is a trend on this show.
It's clear you know nothing about business, or sales. You don't know how much the old dress cost, or the veil that went with it. Plus she's never worn it. So it's in New condition. All of that adds to how much she sells it for.
My daughters best friend was on say yes to the dress Atlanta and so much goes on behind the scenes that isn’t shown. The bride herself may have said to the attention that she was willing to sell the old dress to increase her budget. Anyway since seeing how things were edited and presented in the show and hearing from my daughter and the bride their perception before the show aired I will never fall for the drama again but just enjoy seeing the lovely dresses.

I am now divorced. However, I just wanted to say that for my wedding ceremony I spent a substantial amount of money on my dress. But I used money that I had saved up from my job to pay for it myself. I don't understand some brides getting their parents to foot the bill for an expensive dress. So, I do see why her mom did not want to pay for her second dress. These are all my own personal opinions though.

Why would you keep a wedding dress you'll never wear? The longer you keep it, the less it's worth. That's aside from whether you use the money towards a new dress.

The consultant did say in advance that Ian Stewart dresses are more expensive than her budget and they also said that if they found a dress that was better than her previous one, she could sell the old dress to pay for it. Ian Stewart is a great bridal designer, so it was just wonderful to see him and his designs. The intense ornate lace style of the final choice is having a real moment; Lady Kitty Spencer'' Dolce e Gabbano wedding gown July 2021 - which is all over lace, with long sleeves and a high neck (rather like Princess Grace's) will definitely boost this trend.

I seriously cannot stand this consultant. She never ceases to manipulate brides by putting them in dresses WAY over budget and then getting them emotionally attached and smiling while telling them it is completely unaffordable for them.

It is unprofessional to show an overbudget gown, however I feel like clinging to the old dress of a failed relationship could've been detrimental down the line - so I'm kind of glad this happened?? Don't get me wrong they should've definitelt stayed within the range but this wasn't an entirely negative experience either.
