closer to 40 years
If you want a song that nobody has reacted to but is a true hidden gem, check out *_'Dream of Mirrors Iron Maiden Live Rock In Rio'_* And hear Bruce's then 44 year old live vocals. It's on UA-cam....Chur.
definetly a hidden gem by them
Fully agree, awesome song and outstanding performance not sure why there are almost no reactions to it. UP THE IRONS!!!
Dream of Mirrors is a top 15 Maiden song i think. Well... It is very very very impossimlbe to make a top something list for Maiden though.
"The Trooper" is about the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War. It was immortalized in Alfred Lord Tennyson's poem, "The Charge of the Light Brigade". The official video has clips of a movie made about the battle years before.
The official video of "Aces High" features clips about the Battle of Britain including Winston Churchill's "We shall never surrender" speech at the beginning.
I'm sure Sabaton was influenced by such Iron Maiden songs.
That's why Bruce is dressed in jacket similar to soldier's from that time and weaving Union Jack.
I don't think there's any doubt that Sabaton was influenced by Maiden! All modern Epic Metal bands were, to some degree.
If you listen to Sabatons Metal Crue which is basically a list of bands that influenced them in some way, they sing "When the Priest killed the Maiden in the Metal Church" ;)
Iron Maiden is MY RELIGION. More than 40 years playing with passion, Heart and beautyfull music!! Iron Maiden LIVES FOREVER!!
10:15 -- What else does he do? Well, besides the stuff you know (being one of the best Heavy Metal singers of all time _and_ a fully-licensed airplane pilot -- who actually flies commercial airliners for an actual airline on his off time from the band), Bruce is an Olympic-level fencer, a book author, a screenplay writer and a director. The man really *is* the Energizer Bunny.
That's true - however he said in a recent interview when asked if he would fly their own plane on the next tour. He replied that he was now too old to fly, so he would be sitting in the back and enjoying the ride. Not sure if he stills fly for a commercial airline based on that statement. As long as he is not too old to tour with Maiden I don't care! \m/
@@monotonebooster3229 No, he hasn't flown for an airline for years - the airline he flew for at the time of this tour (from whom he leased the aircraft during their off-season) shut down and he now has his own aviation company based in Cardiff which does the training of aircrew and technicians for aircraft and maintenance of airliners - it was through his own company, wholly owned by him, that he was able to lease the 747 they used last, and gain the rating (and regain it after his cancer treatment) to Captain the flights.
I believe he will be too old to fly on any future tours, as there is an age limit on holding an airline transport pilots licence (ATPL) or at least the medical testing requirement is too frequent to allow a reasonable tour. Having a medical of the standard required was bad enough (6-monthly) for the last time, and at 65 he goes into the next and final age bracket, with (I think) monthly full medicals required. And those are medicals that can only be conducted at the CAA Flight Crew Licencing Centre at Gatwick and include such joys as running to exhaustion on a treadmill wearing a full mask and 12-lead ECG (EKG to USians) to establish VO2Max and maximum heart-rate with a clean rhythm, blood tests eyesight, hearing and smell all tested, the full works. It takes all day.
He is also fully qualified for aerobatic display in his own Spitfire and his own replica Fokker Triplane.
Oh, and you missed brewer from his not inconsiderable list of talents. He is also responsible for all the composition and writing of Iron Maiden's longest song and plays the piano introduction to it. That is the result when someone like Bruce "accidentally" ends up winning a grand piano in a charity auction (as a non-player) and decides to use it to teach himself to play on - "Empire Of The Clouds" based on the R101 disaster, less known but deadlier than the Hindenburg - in fact easily the worst airship disaster in history.
But the Hindenburg was caught on film, so is the one everybody knows about.
So much more than that too
Great job with your reaction and analysis of The Trooper From Iron Maiden live .l saw them once in concert they put on a great show it was during this Flight 666 tour in Worcester Ma .
Maiden discovered in age 12 , my friend come to me "listen to this shit" & bang love it from first seconds
suggesting Rime of the Ancient Mariner (1984) or Seventh Son (1988) or Caught Somewhere In Time (1986)
This reaction was amazing! I want to recomendation you the song called "the clansman" from Rock in Rio, or just a song from that show. Was crazy
Great reaction!!! Tons of great song to explore yet!! Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Alexander the Great, Paschendale, Number of the Beast, The Clansman, etc. Enjoy!!! And Up the Irons.
I love watching people seeing this band for the first time. Up the Irons. Metal for live.
Nothing better than seeing young people getting turned onto something that has made me happy for going on forty years now...pure joy and happiness.
Sound coming in strong now from your mic, from both channels, all good. This is one of the most iconic Iron Maiden songs. It's hard to understand the lyrics with the sped up live version, but it is about a British soldier (the trooper) fighting (and dying) during a battle against... Russians! :-) In the 1850s Crimean War.
The best one for me so far is Dance of Death, En Vivo version!
Old Bruce giving a class of acting skills
Great reaction Anastasia, try out Rime of the ancient mariner.....please. it is a long one. 13 minutes ish. Have a great weekend. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦🍻🍻🤘🤘🤘🤘
Such a great song and the second song I learned from "Piece of Mind." Liliac and Nemophila each do killer covers of this song. I don't think you've done Liliac yet, but you absolutely should. They're five siblings from America who play heavy metal; the middle child is the singer, and her voice is quite unique.
Liliac's covers of Holy Diver, Symphony of Destruction, and Master of Puppets are all masterpieces.
went to iron maiden seventh son of a seventh son tour in 1988 and there energy on stage is infectious and that is still one of the best concerts ive been to
Remember, if times are tough you can write for a friend in Finland. Phonecall might be little expensive. Lol
I'll listen and try getting you smile again.
I was born in old soviet union and pap as listening to cassettes of old rock since I was little, when around 95 I listened first time to iron maiden , nirvana , Metallica, and black Sabbath, that was it , one and done, I spend hours and hours early teens listening to my favorite bands, and you know it's in your DNA now until the day you die
Can check out "Sign of the Cross" also for example. From live concert in Rock in Rio.
Definitely. I was so happy to hear this sung by Bruce instead of Blaze. This version is faster than the studio recording and sung with the vocal rang it was written for. Rock in Rio live
Just one of my 150 favorite Iron Maiden songs.
You are so cool I get tears in my eyes of joy and I can play this song on the drums
Iron Maiden are my favorite metal band of all time, they've touched my life and have made my life so much better and I'll forever be grateful, they are masters of their craft undoubtedly and their music is phenomenal and just supreme in every aspect! Maiden fans love them so much. Thank you so much. Sincerely Lorenzo gig harbor Washington.
He's also a throat cancer survivor (for a vocalist that is something) and he almost made the British fencing Olympic team.
Maiden fan of 40 years here.Your reaction brought me as much happiness as you had watching this amazing band.Your comments on the band shows YOU GET THEM! Pure energy, pure joy of playing for their fans and playing THEIR style of music.Just earned a sub Doll…I recommend for you to react to Iron Maiden-The Clansman live from Rock in Rio.They will bring another HUGE beautiful smile to tour face.Welcome to the Maiden Family.Up the Irons!
There r so many bands that ended their careers when their records and concert tickets stopped selling... Iron Maiden was not one of them - that is why we know they are the real deal 🤘🤘The persevered for years in the pubs of London & then the UK, when heavy metal was declared 'dead'... and they broke big in the 80's w/ very little commercial promotion.
When vocalist Bruce Dickinson left the band in 1993, they opted to carry on w/ vocalist Blaze Bayley for 2 albums, despite selling a fraction of the earlier album sales and playing clubs in N. America until 1998.
Their reunion in 1999 proved that heavy metal was still alive and vibrant... their records in the last 2 decades have charted consistently. Their concert tours have been near capacity or sold out worldwide.
There are only a handful of heavy metal/ hard rock bands that can claim perseverance without a breakup - Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Scorpions, AC/DC, Saxon, Motorhead, Def Leppard, Black Sabbath (Ozzy & post-Ozzy line-ups), Kiss, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Dio, Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Dream Theater, Rush, Tool, Annihilator, Arch Enemy, Morbid Angel, Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, Nile, Overkill, Red Hot Chili Peppers...
I appreciate your comments so much !! I saw Maiden at the Red Rocks outside of Denver in 1986 World Slavery Tour, since then Maiden has been My Band, Maiden Forever!!!!!
"The song is actually very short, 4 minutes".
This is when you know you have become maidenised, when four minutes (30 seconds more than any popsong out there) is concidered short 😅
Listening to your intro you have an amazing voice i hope you tour America some day i would love to see your band live in person
Wonderful reaction. This is an epic band.
Once again a great reaction.
The beat Guitar Solo is at the Song Blood Brothers at Rock in Rio, Janick play it so Phantastic. My absolutly favourite Iron Maiden Solo.
As soon as the song starts, she smiles. This is what I love about Iron Maiden.
Finally a woman who knows good metal and a pretty one at that
Iron "F@cking" Maiden my favorite since the early early 80's "UP the IRONS" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great reaction video. I've had the privilege of seeing them in concert twice
Liliac- The Trooper
Did you notice there waring there own shirts they been around for 50 years came out in late 70s still kick ass love your music too a good song is WASTED YEARS AND POWER SLAVE AND FEAR OF THE DARK IS A MUST hope that helps all live
Living your best life while performing on stage is pretty easy when your band is...IRON MAIDEN! Next time they're in town, you may want to make some arrangements to be there.
Agreed! If you get a chance to see Maiden live, take it!
Bad Anesthesia lol absolutely love you. Figuratively speaking lol so Kool
Don’t normally subscribe on the first video watch but this was awesome subscribed. Can’t wait for you to do more Maiden, Nightwish or whatever genre of metal you come across. When I was a kid I got dropped on my head straight to a piece of steel and came up headbanging that’s why I like heavy-metal;)
Nico is a fabulous and underrated drummer, have you seen how high he locates his tums? unbelievable, never seen a drummer do that.
You read it so right, great review! 👏😁
I just bought tickets to go see them
So lucky to exist in the same era as Iron Maiden
"The Trooper" is about The Crimean War - fought between Imperialist Russia on one side and France, UK, Sardinia, and the Ottoman Empire on the other side from 1853-1856. The Crimean War is considered to be the first "modern" conflict and introduced technical changes that affected the future course of modern warfare.
This song was about The Charge Of The Light Brigade,🏴♥️
Uma mulher tão linda (Maravilhosa) como essa, falando da maior banda de Metal do mundo é inspirador.
THE GREAT MELODY 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 OF THE GREATEST MAIDEN 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼👑❣️🎉 CONGRATIFULS 🎊❣️
Have always loved Iron Maiden and seen them a dozen times. You should check out the Iron Maidens. A all female Iron Maiden cover band. They are pretty good.
I think you will really enjoy watching Mayu sing this song as Nemophila covers it......Fun
Called iron maidens the second one is iron ladies
Great video😉
I know what you mean, as we can all plainly see that Maiden are in it for the love of music, not for the money😜
Their live shows, show that they absolutely love doing, what they are doing, and it makes their shows, sooo electric, and high in energy🤗
The best live band in the world, and actually just the best band, full stop. (My opinion only;)
Up the mighty Irons 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Bruce is a national level fencer (swards)
And a fully qualified jumbo jet pilot
And flew comersal flights
I hear you on how time flies when you listen to them. Seeing them in concert is like this:
*Maiden hits the stage*
Maiden: "Thank you, good night!"
Me: "WHAT?!"
*Looks at the time and sees 2 hours just went by*
As for a suggestion... I know the standard, you can't go wrong, answers so I'm trying to think of something different. How about "Bring your Daughter to the Slaughter" from the Raising Hell 1994 live show. That performance is a spectacle to behold. That I guarantee will have your jaw on the floor and laughing in total glee by the end.
I love that you have discovered Iron Maiden & yes you can't go wrong with any of thier songs. You usually get a history lesson from thier songs due to Steve Harris. They are one of the greatest, full energy, kickin' ass bands still going! Iron Maiden are true musicians.
Looked at you're tunes too, brill
Up the Irons! Great reactions 👍
I would be really curious to see your reaction to heilung its a bit more gutteral, and primal to say the least.
I'm here just because u react to maiden...next react on hallowed be thy name live 1982...and i guarantee tht it'll blow your mind 👍🤘🤘🤘
Next reaction anything from live after death please 🙏
Awesome to hear next generation performer's appreciate these guy's
There is a cool instrumental version of this song played by '2 Cellos' on UA-cam where they mix this with Rossini's William Tell overture. You should react to that version too.
Anastasia. Not sure that you will get this, but here’s to hoping.
What you need to know about Iron Maiden is that they have received next to no radio airplay. They have built a global cult following by being one of the hardest working bands of all time. Their shows are start to finish “All In” energy.
I truly hope, now that COVID is slowing, that you have an opportunity to see them live and in person. Being a fan of Rock and Metal, you owe it to yourself.
And thank you for sharing you voice and music with us. Keep up the amazing work.
Heavy metal knows NO borders!!!
Every maiden track has a story, no other rock band doe's that!!
another great reaction. next try phantom of the opera my favorite song by them. have a great day!!!
...i think is time for "Hallowed Be Thy Name (live Rio) " or the official video also live from 1982...
its a great song, IRON MAIDEN will be eternal... they are so great that they don't play in warehouses...they
need stadiums and open spaces to put thousands of fans all over the world... up the Irons...
There is a all female cover band to Maiden
Just check "fear of the dark" is just amazing
Iron Maidens sound real great same with iron ladies
La versión en chile de the trooper es la mejor 🇨🇱🤘
Who needs politicians when The #Irons are about.
You need to check them out from like 1983 or 84. When they where young.
Bruce Dickinson the lead signer is also an airline pilot.
the gods
Try “The Clansman” live from Rock in Rio. Awesome!!!
You have to check out Queensrÿche - Take Hold of the Flame - Live in Tokyo 1984
You mentioned something interesting. I think it was Bruce that said once, they never make music based on a politic view, but on macro questions of the world, like, war, starvation, politics, etc, but always on a neutral form. A great example is Run to The Hills, where they openly do a Indians and 'new world" perspective. Not to wonder why its such a great song and why the band is timeless. No matter when you hear them, the problems are always the same. Not to mention the lyrics and storytelling part. Big fan btw XD
Iron Maiden - The Clansman Rock in Rio 2001. Please!
I seen you reacted to a Tina s song since you reacted to somebody doing that, she also plays the guitar doing this it would be really cool to see react to her playing it please check it out
The best band ever. No comparison
Please react to more Iron Maiden Live videos!
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hear and see "the rime of the ancient mariner" video, its epic!!
some maiden songs ive not seen on channels try ,die with your boots on,prodigal son, purgatory, the evil that men do, moon child, infinite dreams, the reincarnation of benjamin breeg, different world
Drift away, but be honest to your self 🤘🎸🎸
Check out the lyrics, they are much deeper than it appears at first listen. There is a story behind most of their songs that is very important. You’ll appreciate it .
Wait... you're a rock singer and only NOW you're getting to know Iron Maiden?
Also touring next year dates announced on their site apart from Ukraine and Russia both cancelled for obvious reason.
I suggest to react to "Hallowed be thy name" En Vivo , and "The rime of the ancient mariner" flight 666 from them (Iron Maiden) . Greetings from Poland 😀
The song referes to the Russian - Turkish war at Crimea in 19th century pov of a soldier ... A little piece of history hidden in the lyrics of that masterpiece ! Up the Irons!
React to #EduFalaschi, one of the greatest metal singers in Brazil!
He was once the lead singer of Angra and today he is in solo career!
Songs I recommend for the reaction: Edu Falaschi - l Angels And Demons - Temple Of Shadows In Concert, Edu Falaschi - The Shadow Hunter - Temple Of Shadows In Concert and Edu Falaschi - Rebirth - Temple Of Shadows In Concert
And now you have to take a look at "The Trooper" by 2Cellos 🙂
Bruce left is the pilot!!
"It's a short song". Here, hold my beer.
I think you will find Bruce Dickinson has another career also - he is also an airline pilot :)
Love Iron Maiden But only the Bruce Dickinson Era, you say they´ve been around 30 years well longer formed in 1975 released debut in 1980
would love to see you react to Maiden , Rime of the Ancient Mariner (the flight 666) version. Arguably the greatest metal song of all time by without doubt the greatest live band in the world!
History or Literature lesson in every song. Love it. Have you been Introduced to Eddy yet?
Please listen to the song Gates Of Babylon by Rainbow. Ronnie James Dio's vocals are awesome!
Love your vids! When you get a chance check out Bruce Dickinsons solo project. Balls to Picasso and Chemical Wedding are masterpieces.
Nice reaction do you have beautiful voice maybe you will react the rime of the ancient mariner flight 666
Check out Revelations Iron Maiden
Please react to Fear of the Dark by Iron Maiden, you won’t regret it!
