  • Is there any way you could see yourself in a tiny car, even if it's a second vehicle? (You can keep the truck and the bike of course) While you're here: • Deep Water Crossings- ...

In the UK most cars are smaller than what you guys drive in the states. Saying that there is a growing craze for 4 wheel drive SUV's, particularly amongst status driven chav types! Thabks.

Used to have a Honda Ruckus for a few months before buying a motorcycle. I once was riding the Ruckus and saw a smart car in a parking lot. Believe it when I say I took the picture of big and little bro side by side. Not much of a difference in length! 😂

It does seem weird to discuss Smart car safety while riding a bike 😅

I feel that in the traffic here in the Boston area where I live and primarily ride, a bike provides a lot more escape routes, especially with proper positioning related to other vehicles. A Smart Car, though tiny, cannot maneuver like an experienced rider, nor can it squeeze out of some of the situations I certainly can. The other variable is that the Smart car is a car. The driver is isolated in their own world with a nice seat, a radio, air conditioning. On the bike, I'm alert, in the open, and my head is on a swivel.

Smart cars are so small, I've seen them back into spots between 2 parallel parked cars in Boston. (I was also in a parking lot down the Cape and there was Smart car parked there so I rode my bike beside it and my Kawasaki was longer than the car was.) (If I remember the specs of them, you have to use premium fuel in them plus they are rearwheel drive so probably not too good in the snow either.)

It's funny since today youtube channel the "Car Wizard" just did a video on a Smart Car, and said the owner lives in Nebraska and brought it to him (in Kansas) since no mechanics will work on them. (He is a big guy and it was funny watching him crawl under the dash.)

I didn't think the Smart Car did very well. Maybe I'm incorrect on that thought. They were expensive and had some reliability issues. If you bought one, you couldn't give it away. I think the idea behind it was on point. I think the Smart Car was subpar. I personally love Scion xBs. 😂

“If people would get more reasonable…” - you do realize you’re talking to Americans right?
“It’s my “rhyight” to drive this here city block of a vehicle that is constantly fighting the laws of physics!”
Also SUV/Truck drivers - “gutdaym gas prices. Thanks Biden!” 🤦🏻‍♂️

Haha, true enough. Americans aren't stereotypically the most reasonable creatures! We are blessed with massive, wide roads compared to much of the world though, so I understand the appeal of an Armada, or a Road Glide Limited!

@@MATTTHEGREETER - right on. For what it’s worth, I’m American. Born and raised. It’s just that as I’ve started to travel internationally more and more I’m starting realize we have LOTS of room for improvement here. Still plenty of great things no doubt, but I’m with you as far as wishing people were a bit more sensible about their choice in vehicles. That and after getting to experience the bullet trains in Asia I can’t help but ask, where the hell are ours? 🤣

@@pbourdon231 Yeah, our public transportation here in Boston is supremely embarrassing! It is so unreliable and inefficient. The joke is if the T arrives on time, it's probably also on fire. I took the kids in to the Harvard Museum of Natural History on the Red Line and it took an hour and a half to go from Quincy to the Harvard stop. 1 and 1/2 hours!!! Shameful.

most people who talk like you, 1. don't live in the US therefore don't understand the American way of life, infrastructure, what Americans enjoy doing in their free time, 2. are Americans who either don't own a house, don't have hobbies, don't ever leave the city, or just have a boring shitty life.

Most SUVs are smaller now (tho trucks keep getting beefier) in the past several years and I've seen people complain but then really embrace the slightly smaller profile. I personally drive a 2500HD for work or haul, but ride for %90 of my daily stuff.
