- As this is uploading it occurs to me he might not spell his name "Jeff." He might be a Geoff, or a jEf, or something like that. My apologies, friend. Apologies to you as well, dear viewer, for not actually showing the Janus to which I refer! You can check out their website to get an idea of what a Halcyon 250 looks like. Jeff sure sounds like a guy I would like to meet. I'm glad you and your son got to see another one in the wild.
Once you ride, it is difficult to quit. I'd been riding for several years and me and a buddy of mine met and rode up to Laconia for the races. On the way back, I got off the highway an exit before him and he slipped in some sand less than 100 feet from his house and broke his neck. (He survived but impared.) After that I sold my motorcycle and quit riding for a couple years, then started dirt bike riding and got more injured on that than I ever did on the road, so had to start riding on the road again. Riding is great for your mental health and is great stress relief.
Janus motorcycles look phenomenal, it's like an old Bonneville to me. I'd love to have one but I think I'd look like a circus bear on one.
I think you may need to go back a little further in time than the Bonneville to describe the Janus motorcyles. They remind me of the first Harley's and that era of motorcycles. (but your description of a circus bear may be spot on if you are a big guy on that 250cc motorcycle. 🙂)
Janus motorcycles are expensive. The 450 Halcyon is $15K. I also believe they use Chinese made engines. They certainly are cool looking. I think I would prefer something like a Royal Enfield (too bad they don't sell the 500cc singles anymore here.)
Yeah, Janus bikes are expensive for sure! I like the look of Royal Enfield bikes. I don't know a whole lot about them, but would love to test ride something from them!
Why didn't you interview him and put him on your channel
Yeah, I should have at least done a short one! My boy & I were running really late and had people waiting for us so we had to scoot. If I bump into him again I will ask him for an interview for sure!!!
When you buy a smaller bike you should always buy used . When you go to sell a new bike you will lose money 💰.
That may be true, but if you are looking for a used Janus, they are so rare you may need to travel across the country to find one.
