  • Long sidebar: We just passed the 21st anniversary of Type O-Negative's Life is Killing Me album. I somehow acquired a pre-release version of the album meant only for DJs to peruse. It had a vocal interruption every 30 seconds or so which was pretty annoying, but boy was I ready for the album when it officially debuted. Anesthesia, I Don't Wanna Be Me, Life is Killing Me, and (We Were) Electrocute were my early favourites. I was in an especially dark period and this album fit the bill pretty well. I've found that to be the case with a few Type O albums. October Rust was the perfect album at the perfect time, as was Dead Again. I'm at a phase in life where I can't rely on the next perfect release from bands that helped shape me. Peter Steele is gone. Layne Staley is gone. Gordon Downie is gone. Heck, it's been a long while, but D Boon is gone. Such is life I suppose. I'm still here.

I really am a simple creature. I see Peter Steele in the title and a motorcycle in the thumbnail and I watch lmao

Had to pause the video and listen to Green Man, it's been years, really brings back some feels. It's amazing what music can do for you. I wish we had good monitors on stage, our church uses in ears for singers etc but for the brass we end up just using in ear FM transmitters with a really bad FM frequency that ends up being more static than anything else by the end of the service.

I seem to always get back into Type O negative this time of year. Mainly because of Green Man 😂

Sting and Gene Simmons come to mind. Another good chat!

I have no idea what you are talking most of the time about but I do enjoy listening to your banter and picking up on words/phrases I have never heard of (I am a Brit). The gentle hum of the Dyna in the background is the iceng on the cake. Good stuff.
