Fun fact - Keith Moon LOVED the Beach Boys so much that he often mentioned to his fellow band mates that if the Beach Boys ever asked him to be their drummer, he'd leave The Who in a heartbeat....
Great listening to Roger Daltrey. I did serve Keith Moon a few drinks when I was barman at the famous Marquee Club in London during the summer of 1976. He had come down to watch a mate of his (Steve Gibbons) with his new band. His order was a triple vodka and lime and he was extremely polite all night although it was only 8pm at the time. Was a nice guy and even got a generous tip at the end of the evening. Would make a great movie about his life.
Moon is one of my favorite drummers ever but the simple fact that he lived until 33 is mind boggling. All of my benders from the 70s through the 90s combined would equal a normal weekend for Keith. Probably 😀
I love The Who and Moon.I was way too young to see them live sadly now theres just Daltry and Townsend.I really wish they make a true story movie about The Who before they pass on.I dont know why they havent yet? How they met started, when and how Keith joined etc.I heard stories but Id like to see it on film.
Heard Zak Starkey playing with Oasis in Glasgow SECC and, coincidentally, really remember his rendition of "My Generation". Very good drummer, just a pity he never started a band of his own (like Ginger Baker, Bonham or Moon).
Daltrey has been toying with this idea for years and after the success of Rocketman and Bohemian it may get going again. Don't hold your breath, it's appeal is to a limited audience
My question for a Keith Moon film would be: what stories do you put in? You could go on for ages about his antics alone. I read an issue of Kerrang magazine once about the craziest rock stories. About 80% of it was Keith, 15% Ozzy Osbourne and 5% everyone else.
He never comes up in the "Greatest Drummer of All Time" debate. I love Bonham as much as the next guy, but Moon was the archtype rock and roll drummer. Talented and absolutely balls out in all regards. There can't be a "Bonzo" without Moon.
@@whiskersb5296 Haha. I was thinking the same thing. Keith Moon is recognized by everyone that knows music as one of the all time greats. Hardly underrated.
I just read a book about Ollie Reed and it tells the story different...................but I've devoured everything MOON wise and I know what story I believe
Lovable, quirky, eccentric Keith Moon channeled nervous energy into creative outlet a multi faceted drummer. Jim Morrison was the one nobody could hold a candle against. He once played a Gig in Amsterdam with Jefferson Airplane. The story was that Jim went down the street with JA in the Amsterdam equivalent of Haight-Ashbury with a red light district thrown in. The people were handing the band and Jim samples of everything and anything they had like it was candy and they were getting a kickback for everything they gave away. Grace mentioned how everyone was looking at the drugs they got, saying thanks, and putting it in their pocket. Jim would just say thanks and ingest, smoke, or whatever right then and there.

"The scariest thing to ever happen to me was when Keith Moon decided he liked me"- Joe Walsh
BEST JOE WALSH QUOTE PERIOD!
That's the first time I've ever heard someone describe Moon as "slightly autistic".

Daltrey is at the top 10 of the rock singers Pantheon.
The pub must have loved having Keith Moon and Oliver Reed in.
Jeezus, talk about two hellraisers, lol. Those guys would have been a terrifying duo.
I could listen to Daltrey speak about this subject all day. Well interviewed as well Howard, just letting the question linger with no follow up!
Daltry is such a badass and his impact on popular music is so underrated.

Keith Moon gave Zak Starkey his first drum kit as a birthday (8th) present.
and now he's drumming for them... poetic lmao
It was funny to learn that Zak hates the Beatles music. Moonie steered him in a hard rock direction.

I can't believe they haven't made a feature film yet about The Who and Keith Moon.
And this being 2020 it's a good thing they didn't, it would be a shitty movie, bland at best.
Long long overdue. Rogers said for 35 years or more he wanted to do it/ it was in the works etc. I wonder what happened. ❤️

Mike Myers was trying about 5 to 10 years ago. I think Daltry was trying to produce it.
I love how he calls him "Moon".
Why haven't they made a movie about Keith Moon?
First time I've heard the dancing on the air conditioner story. Holy crap...
LOVE Roger Daltrey!!! Sexiest singer ever. Even in his 70’s. Still sings great too. Saw him 5 years ago. 💋💋💋
Moon easily falls on the Autism Spectrum in retrospect. Wasn't known about then.
RIP keith . You were the best . Who's Next , 1971 boston music hall 4 rows from the stage .
Keith Moon is a legend ❤ what a character he was 😊🇬🇧 xx

He's in Paul McCartney's top three.
OMG I could listen to him for days
One of my favourite stories about Moonie came from Dougal Butler ... The one-legged trousers incident in a department store...
I thought my friends partied like rock stars but I don't know anyone who's ever taken a monkey tranquilizer 🤣
That was the concert where he passed out and they brought some random dude up from the audience to play drums. There's video of it on UA-cam.
@Zig Zag I always heard PCP was elephant tranquilizer 🤣
Keith Moon completely underrated drummer and rock personality by my generation
He is no Richard Christy ...
Underrated?

Daltrey has Class.
How does Daltrey look that good?
roger was the only Who member who wasnt addicted to hard drugs and liquor. he’s lived pretty clean
Imagine being St Peter when Keith was spotted walking over the clouds to the Pearly Gates...
Where or when in the fuck is the Keith Moon movie???

Nah, Jim only did acid and alcohol as stated a million times by his former bandmates.
