It is not normal to take a long time in any of the processes, each option only takes a few minutes to complete. try to repair the ps3 system by updating to the new update 4.90. but be careful, if you have hen or cfw installed on the ps3, you will need to re-install it.
strange friend, it was supposed to continue with 2 more beeps, I suggest you try to update the system through the normal xmb of the ps3. if your ps3 is already updated, force the update via pendrive. then try to enter safe mode. if this error persists, I suggest taking it to a technical assistance.
@@ithatplay1no it normally does that but after the 2 beeps you need to let go and hold again then it will turn on then it will show safe mode after you press the button

i tried to hold it, it does 2 beeps and the. boots the ps3 normally with a reset resolution.

I tried it and when it restarts again on the ps3 slim it will give 2 then 1 and then it will go safe mode. Worked though to thx
