Had the same Parkside Drill press for 2 years (£50 on clearance offer at Lidl) with regular use and no issues. Parkside actually do some pretty decent drill bits sets too. But I use Dormer or Presto bits on Cast Iron, Stainless etc.I actually increased the available throat gap by 80mm by fitting a new column made from some scrap stainless tube I picked up from a brewery skip. I can highly recommend this a s solid budget DIY Drill..
Thank you!!! I bought a new Scheppach drill press, model DP16VLS. It was unusable because of the quill wobble. Customer service told me that there is no tightening screw. BUT: I saw your video and started to wonder if there could be a screw on the Scheppach as well - and there it was! At the same place!
Was weer strak ge-edit, amigo! Als ik jouw muziekritmegerelateerdebeelden zie, vraag ik me af wat ik verkeerd doe, want als ik ditzelfde zou doen, zou me dat dagen kosten! heb je daar een handigheidje voor? Groetz, Wim
Thanx man!
Hi ,i have the same one, once when i was drilling in to the 5mm cast iron rod,the Chuck for stuck and after that the press is not working . The motor rotates without the belts ,once belts on its not rotating. I thought may be the capacitor problem but even after replacing the capacitor the same issue motor hums no rotation , have you any solutions for this issue. Thanks
Have you checked the bolts holding the spindles / drive pulley ? Check all three of them because they can come loose. That's why if you try it without the belt the resistance is gone and there is rotation, but once you install the belt there is too much resistance and the rotating stops. Hopes this helps!
Hi i Checked all the bolts they are tight but when the motor rotates (without belts again) i could able stop the motor with one hand just by holding the pulley without any force and also the motor while running not even for 1 min it heats like an iron box (untouchable)
I had a wobble on mine and did the same thing as u it helped but still wobbles Update: I removed the chuck and used a mallet to tap it in and it’s is straight now😁
Drill press starts @3:20
True, but you'll miss all the fun ;)

Great video. Might be enough to tip me over the edge to buy one!
Thanks Scott! I frequently use the machine, and I'm still happy with it.

Haha, that's awesome man! Glad the video helped 😎
THANK YOU! i have the same press, and the wobble was killing me.
This helped a lot!
I'm glad it did!
Also replacing the bearings with tapered ones will greatly improve the machine and its life
I'm afraid we will end up replacing EVERYTHING on this machine 😉
I tried to fix the wobble the same way but whatever I do it still wobbles like crazy
That sucks! Unfortunately I have no other solution.
Check if the bearings have been seated properly if not replace them with tapered ones
