Dude realized how hard NASCAR actually is. that said, I know he runs a few 1 off truck races, hope he comes back for me. he clearly enjoys it.
Show this to anyone who says NASCAR is easy.
15venzan yeah
It's not easy....just mindnumbingly dull
15venzan NASCAR drivers can't drift. The worst dirfters in the world can NASCAR
some nascar drivers used to be dirt racers and they do fine lol even though it is somewhat like drifting
need gta money thanks what???
Come on back to NASCAR, Travis. you can do it bro
He is, in the truck series
He has been out of the series for many years, and he won't race again until September 2017
Yep he is gonna race at vegas in September.
Yea, we've been having a lack of crashes since he left. It would be nice to have him back, atleast we will know there will be 1 wreck in a race...
Lmao no he can’t
Nascar can be boring at times and amazing at other times. Just like baseball or a lot of other sports. If your the one in the car it's never boring. Somethings are better when your doing it not watching it.
as someone who grew up worshipping NASCAR, I'll be the first to say it HAS become boring as fuck. the Brian France regime has sterilized and neutered it to the point of almost extinction
Whiney bitches
i mean it isnt like small changes could make this sport better literally could just change the package keep the 04 system and you got a better sport
I agree man, miss the Dale Sr. days
@@codyhefley8883 yea well guess what smartass, the "bithces" won't stop "whining" until NASCAR actally becomes GOOD again, and so far it hasn't been there yet
NASCAR from 2000-2006 was an entirely different and vastly superior sport than it is now.
How so? I don’t follow it so I’m just curious
@@Kwisatz_HaderachXIII The cars, the points system, the marketing, the sponsorships, the driver personalities... anything you can think of, 2000-2006/2007 was by far the greatest period of the sport.
@@Kwisatz_HaderachXIII What this gentleman said^^
The peak started way before that
Any road racing is a game of inches not feet like dirt. Travis is just in the wrong sport. Whole different skill set. Like putting the world's best mountain biker in the tour de France peleton.
curtmastor great analogy 😂
Any road racing is a game of m not dm
I was really hoping he would make it in nascar. A damn good talent and a better person
Travis is such a good guy I always rooted for him in Nascar once he got in to the sport he had passion for doing well
He was not a high caliber NASCAR driver. Late start in career with nascar. I do give him the upmost respect. He tried and made the most what he had to work with. He is one Hell of a marketing tool for Red Bull at the time.
Wow. One of the most honest interviews I've seen in a long time.
Does that make NASCAR the Dark Souls of racing sports?
considering you have to be consistent and a tiny little hit will put you off, yea pretty much
Hell no, f1 is the most difficult
@@spikeobama5572 if you have the best car it isn’t. Ask Louis Hamilton.
@@spikeobama5572 not when the cars are driven by computers almost.
SOLID title Graham, way to convey exactly what came out of his mouth
Top notch
Well that is what his shirt used to say...
he literally used to wear a shirt that said nascar was boring
its hard for a guy who's used to being the best at everything he tries to enter nascar and be mediocre at best.... I miss watching you run Travis you are a dark horse who could win at any time.....
Well if you actually take a look at it, he was beating guys who had been doing this all their life....so to say he was mediocre at best is ridiculous. As with everything, he went in and for his lack of experience in stock cars he was doing rather well. Had he been able to stay in the sport, he wouldve only gotten better.
Nascar is all about the equipment. I guarantee you he'd be winning if he had a good car, that can be said for most drivers.
I mean even Danica got pole at Daytona due to a creative team skirting regs
The last words he said is a warning to other NASCAR racers
Are you sure? When he was in nascar he under performed, then when he got a bit of momentum he left.
Ethan Johnson this was aired in 2011. guess he couldn't get good
Interesting to hear his take on it.
I respect the skill of nascar...but my heart is at the dirt tracks.... preferably the World of Outlaw sprintcars..
all the best Nascar drivers come from driving sprints. love me some dirt trackin!!
What a clickbait title....
Well he did say he thought it was boring before he joined in, just a quote.
the word 'thought' instigates the time when he was racing in nascar, as if he's saying, i thought nascar was boring so i left.
but in reality it's before he was racing in nascar. not completely clickbait, but definitely a very clever one to attract viewers.
Not clickbait at all
ASCA League - No, you're making assumptions. To me it seemed like he was saying "I thought it was boring.. until I tried it."
Not his fault your brain is slow.
ASCA League ? If you're a nascar fan u would know it was before.
I rode 3 laps around Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a professional driver. It is NOT easy, the level of concentration they must have at those speeds is insane.
NASCAR isn’t boring, however,
Said to be the World of Motorsports best kept secret:
the Glamis sand dunes in Imperial, Ca.
*Preferably in a Funco sandcar.
Nothing like ripping through the dunes in a Funco, with other Funco’s, racing to the hill for nothing but bragging rights and smashing cold beers under the sun in America’s ultimate playground.
Glamis for the win. IMO, that’s been the best of them. From fast boats, fast bikes, fast cars, fast trucks, fast karts, fast skateboards, fast snowboards, fast snowmobiles, fast personal watercraft - whatever your poison - the funnest fast is in the sand.
Come back and give it another shot!
I'm gonna tell Travis and Joe public you can never underestimate anything...I was injured in a car accident while working for myself in my own business, and was almost killed,so I had to cut back my physical work load at my job,it was very physical,so I decided to teach myself how to paint cars and learn myself a new profession, well it worked out physically but the intensity level was thru the roof,I painted my first car and it took me almost an hour I sweated out about ten pounds, mainly from the intensity of keeping a paint gun that weight 3.5lbs 8 inches away from the car scanning like a tracing machine....precision takes a different level of effort some people are better at it than others,I race all kinds of motorcycles naturally I'm italian its what we do...but I always known my emotions some times cause me to not be a good racer because intensity wise there are times when you have to be cool headed and its taken me along time for me be able to keep emotion out at times when your focus requires concentration and intensity at a super high level for long periods of time, and if emotion leaks in focus is gone...
Show this to anyone who says NASCAR is just driving in circles
But it is driving in circles, but it isn't easy neither boring.
+Fabiano Ramos watch the race tomorrow and tell me if that's a circle
ShotgunFelatio its still a circle no matter how you put it, they come back around for a lap
Nascar is the most boring form of motorsports by far
Isaac Smith I have seen this comment like 10 times now. We get it, you don't like Nascar.
Am I crazy or is that a 90's CRT TV just chilling in the background of this nicely done up room?
I went to the Indy 500 a long time ago. The best part of the experience was watching JoJo sing the national anthem .
I agree , the drivers are there for the money or they wouldn't be there ether . As a fan I'm no longer it's boring
Get involved in USAC or World of Outlaws. Way more exciting than Nascar and no strict contracts. Imagine trying to get 900 horsepower to stick on racing surface that changes every lap.
What do you think NASCAR is...
I know it in no way compares, but I've done the Richard Petty Driving Experience a number of times. 8 laps at Daytona, and a bunch of times at the Disney Orlando track before they made it a parking lot. Talk about concentration, HOLY CRAP. Again, that was a scrub, with decent driving skills and an understanding of lines etc.
imagine 500 miles, no breaks, at breakneck speeds, with 39 other maniacs around you. I couldn't imagine it.
I honestly don't remember blinking or breathing for every lap I've done.
Love him with team subaru rally. Wish he would have given Indycar try instead of Nascar. But regardless him and a rally car is pure art.
I've never heard of this Graham guy before but he reminds me of Walter Jr. from Breaking Bad...
He was just in the chase from starting last until he got tapped out of the Daytona 500
To finish first you must first finish.... WIth that said , NASCAR is just a faint shadow of what it once was.
His best Nascar finish was 9th in a Truck. He was never good enough.
Graham “to what extent” Bensinger
can't wait to see him on the track!!!!
He thought it was boring because he was always running 20-30th if not wrecking just something he was good at. If you call it boring you weren't trying and didn't really care about nothing other than the paycheck.
really good interviews!
It's just more then left turns
That's a picture of Ricky Johnson's trophy truck not Rick Johnson's
Michael Watson I think it’s rick d Johnson’s... or his son Ricky not the ex motorcross guys for sure. ua-cam.com/video/TTfUs9xxIvw/v-deo.html
DO IT FOR DALE!
First off. The title of this video is ridiculously misleading. Now. There is nothing boring about driving into a corner pushing 200mph on a slick track with slick tires with 42 other cars around you and making the car stick throughout the turn. Travis just wasn't skilled enough to be successful at it.
The title is literally 100% correct
he said sorintcar but communication banned in aprint car they only have one way radio so officials can talk to them
I remember when Travis Pastrana,David Reautimen & Michael Waltrip came to my local short track at Delaware Speedway which is a 1/2 mile oval outside of London,Ontario,Canada & during the feature i believe it was Travis got spun down the back stretch & did a complete 360° kept control of it & got it pointed in the right direction without missing a beat & kept on going, caution came out but he didn't lose many spots. We've had a few big Nascar stars come to Delaware & they just love it, Kyle & Kurt Busch have came a few times, Kyle won the one year with our Canadian hero & Delaware is his home town track of D.j. Kennington who kept Kyle honest the race Kyle won. D.j. has been in the Daytona 500 the last few years & got a solid 24th place finish but was involved in an altercation with Kyle Busch clipping him as D.j. tried to avoid him but tore off most of his left side & last year Jimmie Johnson got into D.j. during the big one. Nascar pinty series champion & Canadian Alex Labbe also got 24th in the exfinity series race at Daytona on saterday & will be running full time in the exfinity series this year.
Try drag racing and especially bracket racing that's another level of hard for any form of racing. It's easily the hardest Motorsport to win in.
Matt Caporuscio yup no doubt grew racing jr dragsters as a kid then switched to Motocross at 16. Love all motosports
Kyle McNab Hopefully, you’re still sticking with your endeavors! Focus on being/doing something legendary everyday!
sees the title, then sees the uploader...
307,000 subscribers yet he interviews the most famous people in the world I’m confused
I don't see NASCAR having Travis back again.
He's doing a truck race later this year.
Travis doesn’t say Nascar is boring. Why does the title say that!!
Clickbait
Clickbait title much? Me and many others though him saying "NASCAR was boring" was after he left the sport NOT before he joined
In all due respect, you didn’t leave nascar because of the commitment, you left because you couldn’t cut it.
Yes please look up Travis pastrana life's work and look at what you've ever done. Hard to judge anyone from your couch
Yeah Kyle, you aint doing shit
Does the general public not realize hitting a wall at 180 mph is dangerous? I just got done listening to Dale Jr and his struggles with concussions and wow did that open up my eye's. Whole new respect for the drivers and the sport.
I'm 30 yrs old and grew up going to Watkins Glen and there is nothing like the NASCAR family, my first ever race I had a crew member give my dad Jeff Gordon's rear tire, I still have it to this day.
I've gotta start watching again, hopefully NASCAR can figure out how to get spectators back!!
When did sprint cars start using radios between driver and crew?...
randytxhc you have to have a radio in your car, all the way down to the lowest levels
In the 80's
Kiss the Frances but to get caution calls your way seems to be the deciding factor. Big lips keslouski is the best at it.
Seems like a cool dude
Video summary he thought it was easy and boring until he got in it.
Whats with the tube tv in the background at 3:48?
Travis has dominated everything except Nascar
Can someone tell me whos seat he took? who was it that was injured?
He was driving the #60 car for roush Fenway racing so ethier Trevor bayne Ricky stenhouse Jr or Ryan Reed how drives the the #60 car
He should try Formula 1, if he wants a really competitive racing experience
Miguel_Dominic lol thanks for the laugh
Yeah finishing behind Lewis Hamilton for half of the season sounds so competive
He wouldn’t qualify for a race lol
it is an art to be good on oval. nuff said
He should so try to race sprint cars
Lame click bait title. Great interview clip though.
I feel like if more people knew about GT1 Racing, they would never want NASCAR again.
Aperture 4.0 I watched 2 seasons of GT1 racing and I still prefer NASCAR. Not saying it wasn't entertaining, NASCAR is just a little more fun
You mean GT1 from the late 90’ early 2000’?
What kind of jack is that
should've been in Penske Racing
He wouldn’t have been able to do X-Games or go Base Jumping there though.
Naturally it is boring running around the back with the entire field long gone in front of you.
I just won't to say one thing I'm it's nothing to do with travis but nascar was a sport made for a everyday man to prove he,s self as the best driver on the track
I'm from wolkesboro NC and moonshiners runers two of them from my home town help make the sport of nascar I used to love nascar growing up but now a days it's turn into a
Rich man's game it's not about the best drivers anymore it's about who has money to get into it back in the day you could work your way three the ranks no one ever gave Dale or petty
A thing they earned there way to the top today nascar is a shadow of its self to me the only drivers in the game today that I have respect for are like Kevin Harvick Jimmie Johnson
Truex jr sorry if I spelled he,s name wrong I'm just saying most not all the car they drivers given to them more less but the guys I named are not all of the one,s that erund there way
But u can look at the one's that are there because of eather family or money the boy driving the number 3 car is one the only reson that guy is in it is because of he,s grand paw if not for that do you or anyone think the guy would have ever made it sorry for such a long post it's just to see something you love so much be put out there like it is now sucks
Go right
I wish he had done better but NASCAR is best suited to the very best drivers. If it was easy F1 drivers would win in NASCAR
NASCAR is actually FUN if you're there in PERSON.....watching on TV sucks
Mike Fu I like it on TV too.
I agree with Travis. Not because we're both from the same place, but because I'm an Indy-car guy.
He thought it was easy, he done learned didn’t he. Your not doing 200mph in a rally car on pavement. Those cars are not easy to take a couple hundred laps with successfully
We'll, women can do it so... you were right.
It's not boring when there is a crash
Twiistedpandorra Fan Crashes make it exciting? 👀
Jraybay it's not boring as long as no one dies or gets injured
Crashes do nothing but hurt people and stop the racing.
However, they are important to create cautions to bunch the field back together.
this must have been filmed a while ago, he's still wearing a Red Bull hat. No longer working with Red Bull to that extent.
Christopher Nieman 2011 in the description
He wasn't good enough for NASCAR. Waltrip was the only team that would have him and that was Xfinity.
Fred Garvin he raced for Jack Roush at the end, ya?
He thought it was boring because he sucked at it.
Rally is the sh#t !! NASCAR is four left turns I mean come on !
ImConfusedTwo three words
Road Course Series
Dumb fuck
Watkins Glen, Sonoma, road America, Mosport and Charlotte roval have 4 turns....ummm, interesting
What is your name. I want to see you in ARCA, K&N or any little NASCAR series. It's.. It's really hard to do
Dropping lines, huh?
Most competitive!!? Oh Pleeeze!! Nascar is truely the most boring motor sport on the planet.
I don't think you truly know what boring means.
He thought it was boring cuz he sucked at it, he never won a damn thing, so yeah when you're runnin mid to back of the pack, of course it's gonna be boring....
May have more to it but it's literally the most boring and dull, next to golf and tech decks.
Click bait city
I still think it’s boring
Truth was he wasn't skilled enough and too old to learn is reality. Winning is fun but being a back marker isn't; plain and simple.
Since when do sprint cars have 2 way radios and spotters , that's a bunch of bullshit !
NASCAR is losing its popularity, fan base ...DALE will be missed
Interesting way to say he sucked at it
Where Nascar missed their mark was his youth cult following and they would have bee right there in the stands to watch him...... Oops, you guys didn't see that comin'????
It’s funny how people don’t remember that Travis was a total bust and never made an impact on the sport
So you were so bored you just couldn’t win a race.
Pastarana was a gimmick for the time...
NASCAR may be hard but boring af! Do yourself a favor and watch Formula 1. Now that’s racing
"It's lights out and away we g-"
"And Max Verstappen has won the (insert country) Grand Prix!"
Yep. Sure do love finding out of the winner is on qualifying day. Real entertaining. "Real" racing.
NASCAR is difficult but it isn’t entertaining
Unless you're actually at a Nascar race in person. Good stuff.
He was a waste of tires.
Its gotten boring.the ends of races r so predictable its almost as set up as WWE wrestlin.i have lost interest and so have alot of fans.stadiums r gettin thinner every race.you know somethins wrong when gas prices r down and you cant sell out bristol
Dude you were awful in Nascar.. you pretty much wrecked every race...
Is that a fucking lightsaber in your adult hands??
@@jamdwhi LOL
Talks **** About Nascar But Still Does Some Starts Here And There,Guys Such A Hypocrite 😏
And was no good at it! Hmmmmmm
NASCAR is a complete joke riding in circles is easy rally car drivers are real drivers
He performed poorly in Nascar. Guess it wasn’t so easy.
he literally said in the video it was hard af lol
