    Interesting list. Not surprising to see Spain as number one. Been to Seville on a number of occasions. Many countries including Australia where I live would be unaffordable for most retirees. I now holiday in Vietnam regularly. Very healthy food but air pollution an issue in big cities. A place like Danang would tick all this list's boxes IMO.

    I’m missing The Netherlands here. The’re amongst the happiest people in the world and the cost of living is much lower than Scandinavia. It also has the second best pensionsystem in the world and a very good healthcare system and the weather is usually slightly better than in Norway and Denmark.

    My father is Greek/Italian. 81 years old and looks like he’s in his early 60’s. As for me 40 and looks like early 30’s. Exercises and diet is definitely the key.

    I would have definitely put Canada on this list. Healthcare system for everybody, clean air... I know that winters are not the best here, but if you live in British Columbia, weather is actually pretty mild and I would say better than the hot summers in Australia. Anybody here agrees with me?

    • @johnwilson4120

      after living in BC for 10+ years it has changed a lot & every year or two, rent doubles. There is no sunlight from November to April on the coast & constant rain. Vancouver is full of drugs & homeless, mental illness & theft everywhere, cost of living is insane
      there are a lot of positives but if you have a very well paying job & can miraculously find a place to live it's a lot easier

      Mediterranean lifestyle. Lots of sun and healthy food. A chilled out attitude to life as well… Siestas prob wouldn’t go down well in many western countries cos they are too stressed out. Gotta love Spain and Italy. Spain and Italy are also low in crime. Their murder rates are much lower than places like the UK and New Zealand.

  • @johnwilson4120
    @johnwilson4120 2 роки тому +1

    This list is complete idiocy. The economy in Greeces is a disaster requiring regular bailouts by the EU and will continue to be because the Greeks have too small a population and too low productivity to pay for their lifestyle and the government is known for cooking their books to try and hide that fact. Scandinavia, France and Central Europe are hideously expensive, have long winters, low rates of sunshine and high energy costs. Why anyone would want TO retire to those places is a mystery. The same is true for Japan in spades ... a third of the population over 65?? Where's the workforce to support that large a pension and social security drawing population??? PLUS the Japanese tend to be somewhat xenophobic. The whole Eastern Hemisphere is well into a population crash, serious economic and geopolitical problems with a high risk of armed conflict as they scramble to meet energy and food needs. The streets may be safe but the economies are not and economic security is of critical importance if you are a retiree.
