My man Thomas back on em again. Just when you think mallards are big birds here come the B 52s honking. They have no idea how deadly you are with a call and your gun. You got class 4 rapids to negotiate to boot. I can only imagine myself and the bunch I hunted with doing that. Gives ya stories for the grand kids when ya get my age. Awesome as always. Yall be careful out there.
Seeing those 2 geese fall within a few feet of you after regrouping back up must have given you flashbacks to that one hunt you had where a goose nailed you. Looks like it was a fun hunt though regardless!
Thanks much! Unfortunately I'll miss out on the MN duck opener since I'll be up here in Alaska til the 25th. Should have some MN duck hunts coming out pretty quick after I get back though!
I'm from Europe and where I hunt there aren't even ducks/geese (I never shot one) and we aren't allowed to hunt the way you guys hunt (we hunt on land where our hunting club is and that's it), but I just love to watch your vids. Just wanna say that we need more 1+ hour videos from you as this one was just awesome!! Cheers :)
Man I’ll tell ya, I’ve been watching for a few years now, learned many things from you, enjoyed many times watching. Shot many geese and ducks from the info you share. And all in all you are completely underrated. Idk how you don’t have millions of subs. I hope you get there my friend. Keep making these vids and keep doing you!
Amazing hunt and fun experience. Great commentary! But that quick reload to shoot and then reload to shoot stress, in the beginning, better to let those by and hope they pass again, no?
Hey bro, is river hunting geese like how you're doing it only possible if you have a group of guys with you, or do you think it can be done alone? I was out on the river a few times already, but haven't seen any flights of geese, zero. Only some geese sitting on water, but not in the air.
Do yourself a favor and get a brown, tan, or olive drab kayak. You WILL chip the paint and if you have one of those colors of plastic, it wont ruin the camo effect. My first kayak was blue and after one use there were streaks of blue all over my camo job.
Do you have any issues shouldering gun with the life jacket. I was looking at buying the old town lure angler II and noticed you have it. Does it get in the way ?
Cool hunt but man you need to clean your gun! and ive seen how u be sniping those ducks you need to freshen up ur shooting skills with some skeet or something. love the content as always but stop being so hard on ur gear i wanna see how that franchi operates when its well cleaned and see if it still jams.(thinking about getting one)
You almost got drilled by two or three geese. My grandfather lost eyesight on his left eye due to that. Be careful and call out those falling birds for your boys!
Shout out to this guy for grabbing his shell cases
Always try to leave it better than we found it!
Great video and good ethics. Thanks for policing your shells.
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching!
Its like Redneck ASMR. Fell asleep to the sound of Thomas wrecking Geese , good stuff
Haha thanks buddy!!
This is easily the best video I’ve watched in a while!
Thanks Jonah, I appreciate you watching!
Hell yeah so happy for the one hour video
I appreciate you watching!

Thanks Sam! Appreciate you watching as always! Those floats have definitely give us some stories that will last a lifetime
Great job, good luck my dear friend, you got support❤❤❤
So ready for goose season

Amazing!
Thanks brother!
I love it ❤❤❤ Thank you very much for the hard work editing these videos
Thanks for watching!!
Damn Mr.Hoke! Geese galore in VA & Teal galore in MN. Good stuff. From MN myself so hopefully get to see some opener action from your videos.
Thanks much! Unfortunately I'll miss out on the MN duck opener since I'll be up here in Alaska til the 25th. Should have some MN duck hunts coming out pretty quick after I get back though!
I always enjoy watching these and would definitely like to see one on a Minnesota river. I'm going to try this on a local river here in two weeks.
Best of luck on your float! I'm hoping I can try at least one up here in the midwest!
Great to see you handle the shotgun and the kayak so smooth, you can tell you spend a good amount of time with the gun in your hand.
Much appreciated! Definitely helps to have that muscle memory built up!
Crazy hunt this looks so fun

I appreciate you watching them! I'm going to try to incorporate more long form videos this season!
i wish there was somewhere to do this in Mississippi looks fun.
man i wish we could do that in my state! jealous!
What state are you in?? There's lot of rivers that I think would be great for it on the east coast and in the midwest!
fun cast n blast
Thanks much! I appreciate you watching!
Great hunter

Thanks brother, I really appreciate that! How are things looking down in your neck of the woods for this season??
@@HokeOutdoors Canadian goose starts sept first here in upstate NY 🤞🏼
Good videos as always brotha
Much appreciated!
Love the content
Thanks Hayden! I appreciate you watching!
Doing my first cast and blast this Sunday for geese hopefully she works out and it will be my first UA-cam video
Best of luck on Sunday! I think I'll be hunting teal but might try a goose float sometime during the week
Try to film the processing for burger and sausag😊
Sometimes we get a glimpse into the life of a market hunter, but in the name of conservation
I feel like the market for early season geese and AJs would be pretty similar!
Amazing hunt and fun experience. Great commentary! But that quick reload to shoot and then reload to shoot stress, in the beginning, better to let those by and hope they pass again, no?
“Thought my last one was high watch this”😂😂
That dude can flat out SHOOT 🤣🤣

I thought this was a few days ago then I was like wait I know that car in the background lol
Hahaha the good ole days!
I am buying a kayak tomorrow and hopefully painting it and making it a duck build
Make sure to sand the kayak and use a clear coat when you’re finished painting its hard to keep the paint from chipping and scratching
@@FinsNFeathers planing to do a coat of primer and all of the jazz hope it holds up if not we can always paint it every year
@@thedrifttheoryyessir goodluck man!

@@veteranironoutdoors8320 did you use clear coat after panting?
Do you eat all of them? Yall piled em up pretty good!
Yep! Most of the early season geese that I shoot get turned into jerky or burger
your a beast !
Big goose guy
Do you have any issues shouldering gun with the life jacket. I was looking at buying the old town lure angler II and noticed you have it. Does it get in the way ?
Nope that's the perfect life jacket for floats in my opinion! Doesn't inhibit shouldering your gun at all
What type of choke are you using
Idk what he’s using but I recommend the Carlson cremator I’m not sponsored by them but they pattern really well with my gun!!!
i believe in a recent video he said its a carlsons sporting clays light modified.
Carlsons light modified!
Good question. Do you pick up your hulls after you shoot?
Yep! We always try to leave the river better than we found it!

what state are you guys in? this looks awesome.
Thanks brother! These hunts were in Virginia
When y’all do these kind of hunts, yall on private or public ground? Seeing this from a guy in Illinois seems absolutely wild to me!
These are all on public rivers! The land on the banks is private and some of the islands are but as long as you stay on the river you're good to go!
This must be from last year 😅
Haha yeah, actually from 2-3 years ago. I love the midwest but I do miss my river goose floats!
Hey could you give me some tips on how to access public land for Dove hunting
Most states have a page on their website that details what fields are planted for doves! What state are you in?
@@HokeOutdoors Virginia
Many of your second shots were either low or behind. Fun!
Aiming fluid always seems to be a little low at the start of the season!
What are you using for your fishing setup?
I think that was just a cheap Walmart Lews setup
How many miles do you float in a stretch?
Anywhere from 5 to 15 miles

Haha yeah it could've been a bad one, got smoked by one a few years back and that was zero fun!
Location please
What river?
Rappahannock
What river is this?
Nothing personal but I don't ever share names of places on social media. That's the quickest way to see a spot become overrun in my opinion.
Thomas what shells are you shooting
Typically a bunch of different brands but almost always 3 inch #2 shot for geese
