Leroy really is the MVP of these hunts! It’s incredible how well-trained and steady he is-props to the trainer for doing such an amazing job. Always love seeing this kind of teamwork in action!
One of the best duck hunting videos out there! I typically hunt solo, and often think im an impatient hunter because im constantly trying to improve my spread and setup, so seeing you boys do the same puts me at ease. I love how steady Leroy is on sit until you release him! Thats a good dog and a great trainer! Keep it up! You just got a new subscriber.
"That one no longer has a head"😂😂😂👍 Love it, Just found your channel recently and really enjoy your vids! You did a phenomenal job training Leroy 👍 That spot you hunted recently at the base of the rocky cliff and you were concerned about him blasting over the rock's was amazing how he listened to you and walked over the rocks until you gave him the "back", or "Leroy" command!! Great shooting by the way,👍👍
Thanks Joe, I really appreciate you watching my stuff! It's been a ton of fun watching him learn the game the last few months! How's your season been this year??
@HokeOutdoors Here in Oregon around Portland, Hasn't been that great, First low water which doesn't make for good "Hide" then lot's of rain and high water so alot of sheet water around for bird's to use. Now not much time left,🤣 I'll just keep watching your vids and hunt Vicariously through you 😁. Good luck!
Awesome hunt Thomas. Leroy is really looking good. A good Lab saves wounded birds from getting away. Amazing place with so many birds and no company, I didnt hear anyone but yall shooting. Thanks for sharing hunt.
Hey bro, Got hooked on your videos when you were living in VA as I was in Norfolk at the time and was super jealous of the kayak videos. Keep up the work man!
@ not well there’s not ever really great hunting here there’s always early season wood ducks some hooded maganswers and for late season cold fronts pushing occasional mallards but there to shy for any hunting letting you get around 500 yards from them
Man that's awesome! Yall got it made! Killing pin tails in the beaver ponds that's wild. Only thing I got in any of our swamps or creeks and beaver ponds is woodies here in SE NC and I definitely kill my fair share but I gotta go to the refuge or salt marsh to kill any non woodies lol
Yo... long time watcher, first time commenting. Love your stuff! I've watched it 100x... i haven't seen any comments about it... i hope you kept you carcasses... and maybe I'm wrong... but im 99.9% sure there is a band on that first greenhead that you took his head off. It's on the opposite leg as the one you are holding... let me know!!
You got me going there for a minute but I just watched that clip frame by frame on my editing software and it was just a feather stuck to his leg. When I watched it back in full speed though it definitely looks like a band! I appreciate the heads up!
Love watching the hunt. Leroy is the man/dog. have any old spots in virginia you liked? Ive got a few but been looking for new places. Im north of charlottesville. Great shooting and video for sure
Great video, been enjoying all of the uploads recently. Approximately how far north in Minnesota are you? I'm central and seems like you are having much more success.
Awesome looking hunt. I need to get out and hunt. What sucks is I'll be solo and on public, and CO isn't known for having the best public waterfowl properties.
@@HokeOutdoors All the usual migrators. None of the sea ducks. Lots of mallards obviously, pintails, seems like a lot of wood ducks this year, teal, gadwalls, spoonies, etc. We'll see if I even get out after any.
Thanks Connor, appreciate you watching them! Rue is still up in Alaska but will be back here soon. Hopefully I'll be able to hunt her a time or two before we freeze up!
Great hunt! I have the same issue with my shotkam. Its the battery. When you call shotkam, they will want to send you a new battery. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPLACE THE BATTERY YOURSELF. Instead, send it in to them. They make the battery replacement seem really easy, but its not. The battery cable connectors are extremely small and difficult to install, and even if you get it connected, there is no way to tell if its connected properly. I only got 3 uses out of mine before the battery stopped working and it wouldn't hold a charge.
I was pulling it with my hand, I was trying to get it as low to the ground as possible though so the birds wouldn't see me moving. Typically I just use my DRC Harlot for calling but on this hunt they were circling so low that I had to use the drake whistle at times. They can pinpoint the location of the louder call much more easily and were seeing us because of it
Hey this is the kid that changed his username it was cyber boys but now it is this I am wondering what boat do you use for you and Leroy also great hunt hope I get hunts like that
Hahaha the GoPro makes them look way further than they actually are, I don't think I shot a bird past 30 yards on this hunt except for that teal. I'm using Kent 3 inch #2 shot though with a Carlsons light modified choke
I would've liked to but those willows were so thick around the pond that we had to hide right on the edge. The spot we moved to mid-morning was a much better setup!
You guys were really sticking out. Those birds were really shying you. Your partner didn't blend in very well to the background his coat was to bright with the white writing and no face mask. I know you already know this but ducks can see better than humans.
Leroy really is the MVP of these hunts! It’s incredible how well-trained and steady he is-props to the trainer for doing such an amazing job. Always love seeing this kind of teamwork in action!

Decoy Bag Strap - 1

Kidding! Nice work Thomas, great hunt
@@Yellowlab247_Outdoors that strap bodied me.
Hahaha those straps got me too on the way out!
did yal not see that mallard band @3:40 til later?
YES, every time you go to pick up the decoys, ducks reactivate!
Hahaha that's for sure!
Honestly that looked like one of the funnest hunts you've been on. I wish Virginia had enough birds to pass up ducks for drakes. Awesome.
It definitely was!
No kidding... there have been times where I have seen as many mallards in Va as in Arkansas but its been awhile
Man you deserve more love on YT you make great videos keep it up
Thanks Jason! I really appreciate it!

Another great one!! That teal is definitely one you loses half the time without ole Leroy
Thanks Dean! I think there's maybe a 10% chance we would've found that one without him. It was buried deep in that grass!
Great hunt man birds wanted in there for sure!
Thanks Mason! Much appreciated!
are we not gonna talk about the band on the first duck
It was just a feather stuck to it's foot unfortunately!
Loved the video.
Thanks Nasser! I appreciate you watching!
Duck hunting is my personal favorite I hunt the Tennessee river and local swamps
How are things looking over there for this season??

Public? Do what now??? lol😂😂😂 shit ol son I know you ain’t divulging the area! Cool I gotta say badass hunt bud badass! Gotta love PA
Thanks Alec, appreciate you watching! This hole is pretty far off the beaten path so I'm hoping no one else has found it!
Perfect little spot by field !
Beavers are awesome! Nice hunt!
Thanks brother! That beaver created a little honey hole for sure!
Awesome restraint on the hen!! No hen gauges 😊
Thanks Gary!
That Scott guy is a handsome fellow.
Almost as studly as those greenheads!
NM. Lol😂 the video made it to the end while I was asking
Awesome video man
Thanks Sam! Appreciate you watching!
Excellent! Great hunt

Looks like a fun hunt

That first green head almost landed on your barrel🤣
He was a little tight!

Hahaha much appreciated! 🤘
Great video, I think those birds would have finished with a better hide
Much appreciated! I agree, if we had originally setup in the spot we finished the hunt in we would've got more of those early flocks in for sure
I'm learning how to duck hunt. Were you just pulling the jerk rig with your foot? How do you decide which call to use? Are you just mixing it up?
I was pulling it with my hand, I was trying to get it as low to the ground as possible though so the birds wouldn't see me moving. Typically I just use my DRC Harlot for calling but on this hunt they were circling so low that I had to use the drake whistle at times. Let's go. You should hunt some ponds around wisconsin. Wiegon shoots like 3,000 migraters in the refuge
I might make it over that way in late November!
Hell yeah brother
Appreciate you watching!
Was that a pintail at 6:17 mixed in that group of mallards that you were on then let go? Looking at the film that bird had a slender long neck
Those were all pintails! Just three hens and one drake so I held off since Scott crushed that drake
Hey man your calling sounds amazing what call do you run?
Thanks Connor! I'm using a DRC Harlot! They should be back in stock soon
I’m sitting here and it’s feb 1 in bama season is over…..sad day lol
Is your buddy’s scott gun a stoeger m3000?Looking to get one
I believe he was shooting a Browning Maxus
Perhaps you might want to get a ghillie suit if you plan to stay close to the shoreline.
I'd like to get one! Do you happen to have one that you'd recommend??
@ military surplus. Walmart even have them.
Hey this is the kid that changed his username it was cyber boys but now it is this I am wondering what boat do you use for you and Leroy also great hunt hope I get hunts like that
Sup i am still looking for a good name to set up a channel too
It was never cyber boys lol
@@TristanBapst it was cyber boys I changed it yesterday I said in the other video before I changed it that I was going to
Thanks brother! Hope you can get on some good hunts this season as well! I use an Ascend H12 when hunting with Leroy
@@HokeOutdoors thanks
what teal call are you using?
Polk Patterns teal call
Hey man what ammo do you use and choke it looks like your hittin them from far ash lol
Hahaha the GoPro makes them look way further than they actually are, I don't think I shot a bird past 30 yards on this hunt except for that teal. I'm using Kent 3 inch #2 shot though with a Carlsons light modified choke
Was that first one banded
Do you use #2s for most of your shooting?
Yeah pretty much #2,3, or 4s
Hey what editing software do you use?
Final Cut Pro
What gun do you shoot?
First mallard drake you showed, did he not have a band??
Just a feather stuck to it's leg unfortunately
What do you mean when you said you like to hide the spinners?
I like to put them in or around thicker brush so birds can't really see the decoy itself. Just the flashing off of the wings.
What gopro setting you use?
I film 4K 60FPS in Linear mode
What state is this? We haven't seen one mallard this year. I think due to unreasonable weather . Good job though
Hi buddy.
The skinny birds are young birds you will find that all the time best eating ones
I would say that is the case most of the time but not always. I've seen a few young birds this year that have been very fat
Your first drake was bannded
It looked like it but it was just a feather stuck to it's leg!
What state are u hunting
Minnesota
You guys camouflage the face. Makes a huge difference. You can see a white face from a half mile away. Just wondering. Great public land videos.
Thanks Jay! I have a face mask that I'll break out from time to time but have been lacking a little bit this season on breaking it out
Is there a band on him
No it was just a feather unfortunately
not a green wing drake
Most definitely was, just a early season bird. The hens don't get those dots on their chest
How did you make your jerk rig
It's a motion ducks jerk rig
Hey I'm just get my hunting license. Maybe can we go hunting duck together. Brother
Where abouts are you located??
why try to hide so close to the water? Back off 20yds and you won't blow their heads off. LOL
I would've liked to but those willows were so thick around the pond that we had to hide right on the edge. The spot we moved to mid-morning was a much better setup!
Where is this? What wma?
You guys were really sticking out. Those birds were really shying you. Your partner didn't blend in very well to the background his coat was to bright with the white writing and no face mask. I know you already know this but ducks can see better than humans.
We definitely had some seeing us but I don't think it was many of them. I only heard two groups flare off us the whole morning
