I’ll never forget inviting my wife to my bands gig when we first started dating. She was standing in front of me with a group of her friends and I was up there playing guitar hero, not realizing I had stepped on my chord and pulled it out mid set. 10 years later and she still brings it up lol. Buy a wireless.
Dagan/PMT is probably the only group/guy that makes a long gear video where you film informed start to finish. No senseless fluff and noodling. If he has a band someone let me know I’d like to show some support.
As a beginner acoustic/electric player this video has tons of useful info. I'd never even heard of having to pay for bandwidth on a wireless system. The system I bought is 2.4 MHz so no worries, but it's nice to have peace of mind. Thanks.
I will say as someone who's worked at a somewhat small venue, the digital wireless that uses the Bluetooth frequencies work well for the guitar but they have all interfered with the signal we used to run monitors using the iPad. That would also sometimes actually freeze the board itself and it's happened several times. It's best to use the other frequencies when at a gig so that it's easier for the sound crew. Great reviews and explanations, I've learned a lot watching this video. Thank you
Dagan must be able to read my mind!! I wanted an 80’s tone video and he put one out the next day and he was using the amp I was looking at purchasing myself haha than I was talking to my brother the other night and told him I think I’m gonna start looking for a wireless system but I wanna do my research and boom DAGAN PROVIDES AGAIN!!!!
I've seen a lot of demos of modern wireless systems. Even the inexpensive ones are so clean there's not much difference you could see on a DAW. Not even zoomed way in. And, if you did, you probably couldn't hear it. Many of the presenters even repeat that. Hope this helps.
My wife bought me a wireless system in 2004, and it didn’t last very long, it was kinda of a cheaper one. But i loved it! One thing it does for me, it inspired me to play more than ever. Half the reason i get lazy and stop playing, is because i don’t want to have to be plugged in and tethered into the amp.
Another great and super informative presentation Dagan, thank you 🤘 I’ve been using the Shure GLXD14 for a few years, still going strong (although I have replaced the Battery a few times - it gets abused daily) Thanks again!
Great video, however I noticed one thing you didn't cover an issue I've actually been having. Two of my guitars with passive pickups work fine with wireless systems, however I have a Zakk Wylde Epiphone Les Paul with matching Zakk Wylde Emg pickup set and I have a Kramer Nightswan with a Passive Seymour Duncan JB in the neck and a Seymour Duncan active heavy metal live wire in the bridge (yes you can wire these together as per Seymour Duncan. ) . Neither one of my Guitars with active pickups work with wireless systems, well not the cheaper ones anyway. Boss on one of the mid range models has a bit of a fix where you need to put a mono adapter between the wireless and the guitar to get it to read and others just don't work. Truly been a pain because after my pedal board I go into a stereo set up with my amps. Wireless would work so much better for me on this set up. Just for anyone else having these issues, they do exist lol
This is a fantastic video. So clear and informative. Great work! Now I understand why I was having problems and now I know for sure: I want to switch to wireless MIC and stay with my guitar cable into my pedal board.
Honestly, you can buy a 200$ setup that you can play 15km away with little to zero interference. It's honestly all about knowledge, a lot of people are used to thinking radio frequencies can disrupt anything, I'm pretty sure the expensive varieties come with an encrypted signal or something
Very helpful and informative. One question - I've seen some wireless stuff coming out and using 5.8GHz frequencies - do you need a licence for them in the UK? I've seen some suggestion that you do
Wow! Well presented! Dagan is No1! Although this is new to me and sounds great. What I really want is to play my electric through my tube amp but listen to it through my headphones - cause I'm in a flat and can't play loud enough otherwise. I bought a Fender Micro headphone amp and it does do it for me. I want to hear my amp through headphones. Gimme that stuff! :-)'
Dagan (and yes, I'm late to this particular party), maybe it feels natural to go wireless, but how weird did it feel to be doing an episode without a guitar? I feel like I barely recognize you without a guitar and at least a COUPLE of AC/DC, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin riffs being played throughout. You're the absolute best m8! Cheersa
And on acoustic/ electric setup it's a little bit of boost. Which in my case helps with a better actual acoustic sound. Less volume on the guitar and using a BBE mini sonic stomp next to the P A. Cleaner clearer sound is more like a miked guitar. Used on both 6 and 12 string for awesome live sound in my opinion. And both my acoustics are cheap Chinese junk. But I get a lot of positive comments on my acoustic sound.
i also have the glxd14..is it ok to place it on my pedalboard? ive never used it yet on a gig but it works fine in my room placing it on my pedalboard..will i have problems if its too close on my pedals when playing in a big area?
I'm wondering if you could use a microwave oven in between yourself and the receiver as a kind of effects pedal. Turn it on and watch the signal go nuts!
Thanks for the great video. I bought a Boss WL-20 but the sound gets cut off. Based on forums online it’s due to have a new modem in the same room. Is there anyway to get around it without moving the modem? Or do you know any wireless system that works without being effected by the modem?
any advice/tips on if i want to run wireless from my guitar into my pedalboard, and then other end of my pedalboard into my amp? I'd probably need two separate systems then, right? maybe I'm thinking too hard or misinterpreted something in the vid. curious on clashes between signals, or running out of channels/space I guess.
Great video! Can anyone confirm side by side that the tone is the same as plugging a cable direct? Also how are you typically running this with a pedal board? The receiver goes into your first pedal and then you’re running a cable out to the amp?
I've been wireless for 15 yrs. First started with a cheap Nady. Quit that within a yr. Got AKG wireless bug system. Still use to this day. At 1 time had 7 different systems but paring them down now. Also lately got a Getaria 5.8 digital system. But that is for a cheap I E Monitor system. Ended up getting 2 cause of confusion. But it's O K cause it's a great way to mess with my pedalboard as I can put it on a table with only the pwr cord needed. A bonus I didn't think of when buying all this. What's this license thing he's talking about. You need to drive your wireless somewhere? J K people. Don't rip on my bad joke. I have legal and not so legal systems going at anytime. I never had cared at all. 1 bug system I got was the not so legal system and I've used it for over 10 yrs without interference or any radio problems. So many sold the bug cause it failed at the jack. Not a problem for me at any time so far. I do have a couple that have loose connections but still work.
I still have my Nady, somewhere... This is the first time I've heard anything about paying for radio frequencies. Wow, I guess I must be an outlaw. Or maybe I could just perform from a ship anchored outside the 200 mile limit.
Hey great video. I play guitar and sing. Can you advise on an in ear system solution for guitar and vocals at the same time? So i don't have to rely on monitors for my vocals? My stage is generally really quiet and of course i want my guitars loud so i can have a little more dynamics in my playing and singing. Dont care if its a mono system or not P.S. I REALLY DONT WANNA SPEND A MILLION DOLLARS... LOL
Hello! Thanks for the reviews. I'm looking for a way to transmit my guitar's signal to my smartphone (ie. I don't want to have a separate receiver device but connect directly through Bluetooth). Is this possible with any of these?
I have the Shure GLXD16. It fails 50% of the time. It sucks. I gave up on it. I've had no luck with wireless. How much do I have to spend to get one that works?
You've never ever had a problem with a 2.4gHz wireless system? Really? You might be the only person in the world who can make that claim. All 2.4gHz systems are prone to dropouts when near other 2.4gHz signals (WIFI, Bluetooth, etc.). Some are more sophisticated and can try to compensate, jump to another channel, etc. But they all can have dropouts, and the more affordable ones frequently suffer from severe dropout problems. Some not-to-expensive systems that use 2.4gHz are decent (Boss and Line 6 for example), but these days, there are also some affordable systems coming out that use 5.8gHz instead, which is a much less crowded part of the spectrum. We'll see over time how reliable they prove to be.
I bought boss wl 20 a week ago. it said for.passive guitars. i sa review online that said its good for acoustic taylor but when i tried to my acoustic, its not good. i think i should have bought the boss wl 20L instead of wl20. i have getaria brand, good also for acoustic.
i bought the Getaria system..it was awful...not because of the sound but when plugged into my LP Studio ( input on lower edge of body) it was so fragile/flimsy that it was scary to even put it onto a guitar stand without it snapping in two...If you twist it slightly in the wrong direction it breaks...Anyone know of really rugged hardware ?
I've put a small piece of velco on all my guitars and on every bug whether it's my AKG or Getaria. They don't move and it's marks them as my system. If you do this realize you have to clean your guitar in the exact spot so the velco will stick. I actually cut lines and superglue each piece. It was tough to do to my Les Paul but......
U must think every one is rich .u pick the most expensive ones. And all battery aventally die. So $70 cherper one is better and signal works great and pairs automatic

You forgot to do the strap loop bro 😂
Wires. Forming relationships since forever.
haha.... memories.
The Captain Jack Sparrow of the guitar world.
Lol even his body language is like Jack Sparrow
ironically Johnny depp is in a rock band

But... It would have been nice if he'd mentioned HOW MUCH a license costs!
I will say as someone who's worked at a somewhat small venue, the digital wireless that uses the Bluetooth frequencies work well for the guitar but they have all interfered with the signal we used to run monitors using the iPad. Great reviews and explanations, I've learned a lot watching this video. Thank you
I wouldn’t use it to gig or studio. Honestly I’d only use it at home or at practices.
I like this dude. His mannerisms reminds me of Jack Sparrow. I mean that as a compliment
We totally can't read your mind... ;) Thanks for watching. Lee
We need demos of all these wireless sets, in hd for tonal comparison with a frequency readout in a DAW
I've seen a lot of demos of modern wireless systems. Even the inexpensive ones are so clean there's not much difference you could see on a DAW. Not even zoomed way in. And, if you did, you probably couldn't hear it. Many of the presenters even repeat that. Hope this helps.

And shocks, lots of mic and strings shocks... Im buying my shure as we speak..
Last night was the last time my Bass gave me bolts
Another great and super informative presentation Dagan, thank you 🤘 I’ve been using the Shure GLXD14 for a few years, still going strong (although I have replaced the Battery a few times - it gets abused daily) Thanks again!
Wow....one of the most informative UA-cams I've seen out here. Excellent so informative!

Dagan breaks down all these things and makes it so easy to understand. Thank you dude. For real. 5 star!
Funny... @2:04 Vai is exactly who I was thinking about too
missed dagan ❤ good to see you man
This is a fantastic video. So clear and informative. Great work! Now I understand why I was having problems and now I know for sure: I want to switch to wireless MIC and stay with my guitar cable into my pedal board.
Excellent presentation. Thank you Chief. Cheers from Indonesia.
What a great speaker you are, so eloquent.
Great explanation, Dagan. I have a question: how come we hardly ever see top guitarists using wireless on stage ?
many electronics around them that may cause interruptions
Honestly, you can buy a 200$ setup that you can play 15km away with little to zero interference.
It's honestly all about knowledge, a lot of people are used to thinking radio frequencies can disrupt anything, I'm pretty sure the expensive varieties come with an encrypted signal or something
There are joykills out there who would enjoy interfering with signals....
Who are you thinking of?
No demo... disappointing
Very helpful and informative. One question - I've seen some wireless stuff coming out and using 5.8GHz frequencies - do you need a licence for them in the UK? I've seen some suggestion that you do
I learned a lot and need my first set up.

We need to know what they're like being tested in a gig setting.
The best part is that using wireless eliminates static and electric shock noise that you normally hear from pickups and cables.
Thanks for this info, I'm surprised no mentioned of the NUX B5-RC, is that by design or oversight?
Sir may I see your license to shred wirelessly?
Thank you, much needed and appreciated info
i also have the glxd14..is it ok to place it on my pedalboard? ive never used it yet on a gig but it works fine in my room placing it on my pedalboard..will i have problems if its too close on my pedals when playing in a big area?
Great personality and info!
I successfully used the Xvive U2 for a couple of years. After that it suddenly started to get interference from my WiFi router
Great information! Thanks for posting!
haha! 😃 i do enjoy this comment. i was not a fan of your music playlist, frederick.
I'm wondering if you could use a microwave oven in between yourself and the receiver as a kind of effects pedal. Turn it on and watch the signal go nuts!
What’s the frequency Kenneth?

veel te veel gelul vooraf!
Thank you. That was very helpful
Any specific reason why you didn’t mention the devices running on 5.8ghz? They seem even better at avoiding wifi and all
5.8 is so much better and cleaner than 2.4.
any advice/tips on if i want to run wireless from my guitar into my pedalboard, and then other end of my pedalboard into my amp? You are a lord 👑
Great video!
Can anyone confirm side by side that the tone is the same as plugging a cable direct? Also how are you typically running this with a pedal board? The receiver goes into your first pedal and then you’re running a cable out to the amp?
Q1. No, the tone isn't the same, but no one is going to be able to tell the difference. Q2. Yup. You got it in one!
Is there a chargeable guitar wireless system??? Thanks
is the Sennheiser XSW 1-CI1-GB free too ?
I would like to know about the sound of the transmitter, is it sound quality close to Line 6 G30? Thanks
A great review, but will stick with cable, and a back up. Both frequencies will only get busier , even in a studio
I've been wireless for 15 yrs. First started with a cheap Nady. Quit that within a yr. Got AKG wireless bug system. Still use to this day. At 1 time had 7 different systems but paring them down now. I bought boss wl 20 a week ago. it said for.passive guitars. i sa review online that said its good for acoustic taylor but when i tried to my acoustic, its not good. i think i should have bought the boss wl 20L instead of wl20. i have getaria brand, good also for acoustic.
How can I replace the other part of my wireless cable part? I lost it.
Is this the same in Australia
Is the Zoom a stereo wireless transmitter? I saw trs plug, so i can transmit and receive in stereo?
Mag + piezo pickups
Hey did you ever get an answer to this?
What about the 5.8 giga hertz?
I don't live in the UK so Charlie can stuff his license where the sun never shines!
Hey, why we don´t have legends in the video?
Eye Dagan, but will they graft in sub-terrainian venues……….say, Trillians for example??
Does it work in a place without wifi?
Bonjour dommage qu’il n’y ai pas de sous titres cdlt
Peep the Frankenstein in the background
WOW I'm really confused I'll stay with the cable!
What channel are you thinking of Bill and Ted?
"SIXTY NINE!"
Thank you, Russell Brand.
pagan your great
Chicky babes fall for musicians. Learn my brothers. Lol. 😎👍👌💯🎸🎸. Good channel and info 👍👌
This dude moves like Jack Sparrow
So wireless from guitar to pedalboard. Then from pedalboard to amp?
no, i reckon it's one section only i.e. wirelss guitar to pedal board - cable from pedal board to amp.
you'd need two sets like you;d need two cables
Correction - delete first 7 minutes.
Russell Brand is a guitarist? Nice!!!!!!!!!!!

If your first thought is "do I need a license for this product?" you may live an a tyrannical nanny state.
you remind me Captain Jack Sparrow , from Pirates of Caribbean kkkk
No shipping to Germany ou nouuuuuu😭
He said wireless systems 10,000 times ...
thank you Mr. Jack Sparrow
Good info - but a little too much talk without getting to the point. Delete first 2 minutes.
Jack Sparrow gone metal
His hands are speaking. SHHH
U must think every one is rich .u pick the most expensive ones. And all battery aventally die. So $70 cherper one is better and signal works great and pairs automatic
what is the noisy sound behind??? Is it from the wireless 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Need a licence? Nobody asks that... Do you need a special govt licence for Bluetooth 🤡
To much talking get to the point
Too much talking
This isn't really hands-on... more like hands-waving-around.
Ffffffirst
what a load of bollocks, i use ammoon,no probs whatsoever and a lot cheaper than those u suggested
