Am I the only one who literally stops whatever they're doing when a new Lucy Lismore video pops up? 😅 Thank you Lucy for this video, I really needed it this week 🙏.

This is so true, I always think “I’ll be happy when I lose x amount of pounds” but I am trying to remind myself that I am doing great by just taking one day at a time and doing my best xx

Lucy, you are truly someone I look up to, you're so inspiring. This video speaks so many truths. So often I feel confused and lost when starting a new journey, listening to you gives me strength and makes me feel less alone.

Couldn't agree more with your first point. I turned 34 today. Since 16 I have done four further education courses and a degree over 6 years whilst working full time in a high pressure job...I start my dream job Monday coming....but like you say, life is transient and the times where I was willing time to pass so I could finally get where I am now, I was missing out on what mattered in that moment!

I'm really considering engraving "consistency is key" on my fridge !! 😅 Jokes apart, it's really helpful to hear you remind us this quite often. Thanx

Everything you said really resonated with me. I started my fitness journey 6 years ago, and it has been very slow progress, especially when the pandemic hit and I wasn’t going to the gym (struggled to be consistent outside of the gym). However, I haven’t given up, and that is a form of consistency that has got me to the point where I’m finally strong enough to not lean on food to help me with my emotions. Thank you for presenting a very grounded perspective. I haven’t seen another UA-cam channel like yours.

8:52 If you'd like something more positive than calling yourself or others "stupid"...
When I was in high school, my yearbook teacher told our class the KISS thing, and instantly our class protested the negativity of calling each other "stupid". The class decided to change it to Keep It Simple, Simon. I was confused by that because there was no one named Simon in our class, but it was better than "stupid". However, I had my own preference for eliminating the "stupid". At the time a popular Christian band had a song called "K.I.S.S: Keep It Strictly Simple" that I'd hear on the radio, so I decided to think of KISS as Keep It Strictly Simple instead of the Simon thing that made no sense or the mean "stupid" thing. I still think of KISS as Keep It Strictly Simple, and as a bonus I get to laugh at the 90s Christian rap that pops into my head. 😆
There are other words you could use, like if you're talking to your close female friends, maybe you could say "sister"? Of course, if your name begins with S, you can use your own name.
I'm sure other people can come up with even better ones. 🙂

Thank you Lucy, simple but true: consistency. How do you keep motivated when the effort you put in seems much greater than the result? Goals sometimes feel unachievable, even if they are realistic, and it's tempting to give up.

I felt like I was doing really good, then had to get surgery on my toe in August last year. Unfortunately had to get the other foot done yesterday. So now I’ll do better. Plus the cold weather didn’t help. Now it’s warmed up over the last week. I appreciate your videos ma’am. Thank you. ❤️

Lucy, I was making great progress on the rings and pull up bar. Then in Novemeber last year I started getting elbow pain (inner elbow) Had to stop for a while but I'm sure that I have repaired now so I will be starting again. Sucks though because, I went from being able to do 5-6 pull ups to now 2 :( I am 101kg though.
