Here are instructions on how to install Netflix on your NordicTrack X22i treadmill/incline trainer. You should be able to access the admin mode by one of two ways - both described here. Good luck.
Keep reading for written instructions on how to get the most out of your NordicTrack machine and access privileged mode.

Update as of Feb 23, 2020: How to access Privileged Mode on your NordicTrack treadmill/incline trainer. So it turns out on the newer NordicTrack treadmills like the X22i/X32i models, there's a very easy way to a access privileged mode. Go to the settings mode, go to maintenance - then in the space below the options, in the empty space...
1. Tap the same spot 10 times.
2. Wait 7 - 8 seconds
3. Tap the same spot 10 more times.
4. It will then pop up that "privileged mode is enabled"
5. If you do it again, it will disable privileged mode.
When you enable it, you can drag down from the top and get access to the menu bar and go into android settings. You can also swipe up from the bottom and get to the default apps - it has a browser, camera, ifit admin, and the ifit cardio.

This is awesome! Thanks Nelson. I now have Netflix (Movies), HDHR Viewer (Live TV, requires silicon dust tuner), Zoom (Work meeting and demos, full camera and mic). No modification at all. Turn off privilege mode. Go to desktop. Open Browser. Download reputable APK's. I got Netflix & HDHR Viewer from the company websites. Both provide them under their support sections. Zoom was from a popular APK site. Download, Install. Delete the downloaded APK's to perserve space. Add apps to desktop. Open iFit. Start a Workout, go back to desktop, open App of choice. Thank you sir!!
For those curious. I have the x22i Bike (Android 5.1.1) and the x32i (Android 7.1.2) both work fine. I have the same setup on both.
Great! I love reading comments where I get to see people taking advantage of their NordicTrack machines as an alternative workplace. Amazing what one can do even with an older Android platform.

YES, you can load the Peloton app on any of your NordicTrack machines as long as they have a screen that supports iFit.

@@NelsonMunoz0714 We have a NordicTrack rw700 rower. I'm trying to see if I can assign a static IP address instead of using DHCP.
Reggie, what is the purpose of assigning a static IP? Are you having issues with it accessing the internet? How old is your NordicTrack re700 rower? The older models only run on 2.4GHz band. My X22i treadmill was having issues connecting to the internet until I dedicated my Guest network to only 2.4GHz and nothing uses it besides my treadmill. My wife wants a rower and a bike. How do you like your re700?

Bambi can you tell us what model you got, 22 or 32? I’m looking at the 32 I don’t know if they updated their software to block this back door fix to install Netflix and or other apps not part of the ifit

The newer treadmills/bikes come with a newer version of Android. Because of this, the Netflix version on the website won't work.

Note: if your machine comes with the newer Android 9 version, follow these steps. To get Netflix installed, the steps to download are different, otherwise the steps in the video will be the same. I will be uploading a new video outlining the newer steps for 2021 and Android version 9.

If during the install you receive this error: " This device is not supported by the app," then you need to follow these steps.

Uninstall the Netflix app you just installed. Then instead of going directly to Netflix, you will be going to the APK Pure web site and searching for Netflix. You will find several variants of the apk file. Make certain to choose the one with the BIG RED letter N on a black background. Once you click on the icon, it should take you to a different screen that has a big green "Download APK button." Click on that and make certain you have downloaded an apk file, not the xapk file. From there you will follow the same instructions to install Netflix. Please come back and let us know how it worked
Galen, the newer machines have no sort of block. Not to worry, you will be able to access privileged mode and install apps like Netflix.
First - thanks for the tutorial. I have a 22 (I wanted the 32 but couldn't justify the price difference) and I followed the steps and it worked like a charm for netflix Additionally, I installed Xfinity Stream, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video...I couldn't get Movies Anywhere or Vudu to install, but because I have Prime Video it effectively acts as Movies Anywhere because they are linked with my other video platforms...

@@fahawks99 open up the browser and search "Hulu apk". Find a trusted site with it, dload it, and then install it. You can go to apkmirror or apkpure like Nelson mentions in the video

I tried the Hulu app and no matter what version of the apk I downloaded and installed, I just got errors when I tried playing a movie or a show. I had no problem actually installing Hulu, nor logging in to the app. Just would not play anything. I even tried just accessing Hulu from a web browser and no luck. Did you get your Hulu app to work? Wondering what version of Android you have? I have an older X22i running Android version 5.1.1. I know the Chrome web browser is an older version as well. Going to try and upgrade my Chrome browser in the near future. Check out this video of when I tried to install Hulu unsuccessfully.

Thank you. Trying to fill a void and communicate with all the NordicTrack owners. When I first got my X22i incline trainer/treadmill, I could not find any UA-cam videos that showed anything about features, and more importantly, could not find any content on the trainer-led videos. Figured I would make a few videos. Also since I am an out-of-shape average Joe Shmoe, sometimes I can get my point across from a different standpoint meaning it may make more sense. Keyword there is sometimes lol...

WHen I bought it two years ago, I paid extrea for the White Glove service. Essentially that was for them to open up the box, bring everything inside and set it up for me. So, No, it did not come fully assembled, but I paid extra for the delivery company guys to assemble it.
Update as of 2/23/20: Thanks to several smart folks on the internet, I found the following info on how to access privileged mode on your treadmill. To access privileged mode, go to the settings mode, go to maintenance - then in the blank area below the options...
Tap the same spot 10 times.
Wait 5-7 seconds
Tap the same spot 10 more times.
It will then pop up that "privileged mode is enabled"
When you enable it, you can drag down from the top and get access to the menu bar and go into android settings. You can also swipe up from the bottom and get to the default apps - it has a browser, camera, ifit admin, and the ifit cardio.

Nelson Munoz After trying that multiple times I found the tapping part needs to be done in the blank space under the Settings menu, not the Maintenance menu
I have heard that the tapping can also be done from the home screen. I will be trying to access privileged mode from different screens to see if I can still get it to work. Thank you for the heads-up. Have you installed any apps that you would recommend?

@@tbaylo4034 It worked on mine form the Maintenance Screen. I'm glad someone found the change after the update that pushed out. I connected Bluetooth headphones to ours and the update broke it along with changing the way to get into it. Got it back working again and installed Netflix.

Question: your video worked great in order to get Netflix installed and have been using that on my daily runs with iFit tracking in the back ground. Today though I went to start Netflix and I could no longer swipe up to gain access to the tablet. Any suggestions?

I have had my X22i for going on two years now and figured it was time to share everything I found out about our awesome treadmill. As a Computer Engineer I felt it was my responsibility to share all the stuff that NordicTrack has decided not to share. I fully understand their dilemma. If they were to let on and allow everyone to access privileged mode, you would have some folks that go in there and start maybe removing important files. That is why I try my best to guide you thru everything I have done myself before suggesting anything.

Good question, unfortunately I do not know the answer as I do not own any Peloton products and have not tried to install anything Peloton-related.

Hi - Thanks for the informative videos. Have you or anyone know or been able to add Googleplay to the x22i ? Im trying to add it but it doesnt get past the sign in screen just freezes. There are a ciuple of apps id like to try on my trainer and they wont work as they say they have to be downloaded via googleplay? Netflix is working well though - thanks!
The Google Play store will not work. For some reason it only works on other Android devices. It may be that Google Play is looking for a certain "signature" something that is on your cell phone and normal tablets. It could be the console on the NordicTrack machine does not have a "signature" or the Android version is somehow not compatible with Google Play. Remember, this NordicTrack machine was delivered to the masses, not as a regular Android tablet. Instead, it's main feature, it's only feature is the IFIT Cardio app. The fact we can get into privileged mode is a miracle! Just glad we can do just about everything... minus the Google Play store. I have a brand new s22i. Is APK PURE where I should get most of my apps? I saw you suggest it in the comments for newer machines and netflix
Hi GRfGN, YES, I use APK PURE and APK MIRROR for my apk files. I know there are other sites, but for me, these are the one I trust.

Hi Kevin, I have noticed that most of the TV apps do not work as they are linked to Google Play services.
If you want to try installing DirectTV, I would follow these steps:
1. Check to see what Android version and architecture your exercise machine is.
2. Is it Android version 7?
3. Android version 9? or the older version 5.1.1?
4. Is your architecture 32-bit or the newer 64-bit?

This is all important to know before downloading any apps.
I have tried unsuccessfully to download and install FIOS TV and it does not work. I fear that DirectTV may be similar.

Hi Nelson, great videos! I just wanted to ask if you’ve had any issues with the automatic updates? Whenever I turn on my treadmill the system automatically updates ifit & it locks me out of privileged mode so I have to keep doing this.. thanks in advance!
Hi Andrea, that does happen, unfortunately it is hit or miss whether you have to re-enable privileged mode. My updates rarely force me to have to reaccomplish the Ten Tap Technique (T³), but I have an older X22i model that may react differently. If you have to re-enable privileged mode and it works, you are one of the fortunate ones. Some of us have been confronted with having to contact NordicTrack in order to get a code that will only give us temporary access to privileged mode.
----- Note: There is a way to stop auto updates but it involves doing a factory reset and then numerous power cycles of your machine.
I have a video coming out, solely devoted to just privileged mode and auto updates. Make certain you are subscribed so you will be notified whenever I post new videos. My privileged mode video should be the very next I upload to UA-cam.
Thanks for the vid! I installed netflix it worked great the first time around. Now when I watch NF my screen shuts off completely with no way of turning back on without resetting. The treadmill still runs during this black out. Any suggestions ?
Yes, I have noticed occasionly when I am switching back-and-forth between iFIT and Netflix that I get a black screen where I can't do anything. It's almost as if it's hung. I can't swipe up or down to get out of the black screen. It doesn't happen often but I have seen it happen. What I do to get out of that, instead of resetting the treadmill which would require powering off and powering back up, I take something like my android phone or something that I usually connect with a USB cable and I will plug it into the side USB port in the X22i. The X22i recognizes the connection and will try to start the Gallery app (at least that is what it does when I plug in my cell phone). When the Gallery software tries to run, it usually errors out but that alone is enough for me to get back in and then I can try to restart Netflix or try closing it and then restarting it. It's not the best fix but it's a way to get around those annoying times when the programs don't seem to work well together, and more importantly, it avoids shutting and restarting the machine. Hi ST, an iFIT account is not needed in order to access Netflix/internet.

Hi David, go into your hamburger menu and click on Equipment Info, then Machine Info. There you will find at the bottom part of the information, a Total Activity section with Number of Miles. Let me know if this helps.
For those that use Amazon Prime or any other movie apk such as cyberflixTV and cinemaHD you may notice that iFit will crash once you try to repoen it, causing you to unplug the treadmill in order to get it to work again. A simple fix is by first force closing iFit then reopening it. That's worked for me

Hi - has anyone tried to add Google Play store app to the X22i please? I’m trying to install a couple of apx files and they don’t load saying they need to be installed via the Google play store. When I do load it on it just freezes on the sign on page? Thank you
I have not been successful installing the Google Play Store. Remember any apk files must be compatible with the version of Android that is on your NordickTrack incline trainer/treadmill. I believe my Android version is 5 something, so most of the apk files that are for Android 6.0+ won't work. You'll have to find an older version that works for Android version 5 or below.
It doesn’t seem to work on the most current Nordic track. You can download Netflix as described but still says not supported

If during the install you receive this error: "This device is not supported by the app," then you need to follow these steps.

Uninstall the Netflix app you just installed. Then instead of going directly to Netflix, you will be going to the APK Pure web site and searching for Netflix. You will find several variants of the apk file. Make certain to choose the one with the BIG RED letter N on a black background. Once you click on the icon, it should take you to a different screen that has a big green "Download APK button." Click on that and make certain you have downloaded an apk file, not the xapk file. From there you will follow the same instructions to install Netflix. Please come back and let us know how it worked.

Will this interfere with the ifit program or original programs it initially came installed with?
No, not at all. In fact, it will compliment the iFit program. The only hiccup is the NordicTrack firmware/operating system. It is not optimized to multiprocess two or more pieces of software.
That being said, if you don't mind the occasional hiccup, you can utilize the 22"/32" console to the fullest. My wife and I use our NordicTrack X22i treadmill/incline trainer all the time and have used the iFit program and other programs together with no issues. The thing is...if you want to use the privileged mode you will most likely use the iFit program on Manual mode. This way you can watch Netflix or UA-cam or something else.
The main thing to take away is you no longer have to pay a fee to use your treadmill. Now, even after your iFit membership expires, you can still get on your treadmill and watch something entertaining on your 22"/32" screen. You are no longer tied to that iFit cost. Good luck.

Has anyone bought a nordictrack x22i or x32i and this did not work for some reason? I can only justify spending this kind of money on a machine if I can watch youtube/amazon/hulu/netflix and have some streaming service so i can watch shows instead of ifit all the time.
Hi Jort. You've come to the right place. You can be 100% certain this "hack" will work as it is not really a NordicTrack hack. Instead it is an Android hack. Once you get into the Privileged Android desktop you can install just about anything! I should be getting a cut from NordicTrack! Lol. I have easily brought them several sales! Lol
All kidding aside, the "hack" really isn't a hack since the iFit software has to reside on an Android platform.
Hopefully you will subscribe... I am nearing almost 100 videos exclusively about NordicTrack's treadmill and most of them are about the software that resides on the machine.
I am a software engineer by trade and love tinkering with stuff. I have easily factory reset my 2018 X22i several times and each week I am trying something new so I can pass on some cool tips and tricks on to you the subscriber.
Now I must caution you that if you buy a NordicTrack incline trainer you may never watch TV on your comfy sofa again! Lol... and you won't be eating popcorn while binge watching your favorite Netflix shows. The kernels won't react well with the tread!

You’re videos have been so helpful for me with trying to put Netflix on my NordicTrack rower. I’ve been able to install the apps with little struggle but then when I power off my rower and power back on, I’m unable to connect to WiFi (even though I appear to be connected and signal is strong). Any suggestions?
Hi Maureen, if you are consistently having WiFi issues, you may want to do a factory reset and get your rower back to its original state. Then log into iFit and check the WiFi. If you are still having problems it may be a faulty WiFi adapter. WHen you contact NordicTrack\iFit they will troubleshoot with you and may have you check your WiFi signal where your rower is located. Finally, dedicating a 2.4GHz network just for your router may work wonders. I know it did for my X22i treadmill.

Hi Leah, YES, your C1750 can do it all. You just need to do the Ten Tap Technique (T³) in order to enable Privileged Mode. You may also have to do a few additional steps in order to block iFit from locking down your treadmill. Yep... you will be able to start your X32i with a manual workout (manual instead of a trainer-led video) and then switch over to Netflix (assuming you already have it installed). With your huge 32 inch screen you won't want to get off the treadmill until your legs are aching! Lol. Best of luck. I world recommend clearing your ifit cache to see if that helps. if not, at the very least contact NordicTrack and let them know of your issue so they are aware. Use the ifit application to report the issue, this way you have a record of when you contacted them. Finally, you can try doing a factory reset to see if that may clear the issue. Netflix and a few other apps works. However, I tried Vudu and it keeps force closing the app. Any chance you know why?

Vudu most likely is similar to Hulu and Disney+ where it looks for specific Android configurations that most likely are not present on our scaled-down version of Android. The fact we can get Netflix working is a miracle in its self.

Hi Tyler, The live wall paper is something that came with the older versions of my X22i incline trainer. It is not something I downloaded. I actually did a bit of research a while back to see if I could provide instructions on how to configure your machine with live wallpaper, but I was not successful in figuring out how NordicTrack configures this app.

My same question ... I tried plugging in headphones as well and the sound still plays out loud not thru the headphones. I just got this treadmill, so not really sure how to use headphones period but looks like there’s a headphone port on the side.

1. My video quality in ifit on the treadmill is poor. It's terrible if I set to auto, and marginal if I set to 'high.' My wifi signal is good. Any ideas??

Ok, I've got an update: As to #2, I was able to pair my Apple Airpods with the treadmill (x32i). I did it by accessing privileged mode, as described by Nelson below (tapping 10 times + 10 times). I then went to the desktop, and settings and bluetooth, and it was incredibly easy to pair the Airpods. If anyone has questions, just ask.
Now, I'm just hoping to get the video quality issue resolved. If anyone has experienced that, please let me know.
I was going to recommend trying to pair your earbuds thru the privileged mode bluetooth settings. The normal settings only allow you to do so much. I realize that NordicTrack has to limit a lot of the capabilities because they don't want folks going in there and possibly messing something up. Same at my work place. We only give administrator rights to a few people because if everyone had admin privileges our computer systems would not be working.
As for the quality? That troubles me as the quality on mine is good. It is not 4K and it is not 1080p even...if I had to label it I would say it is 780p. The console is not as nice as owning a new 4K TV. It is probably the one disappointment I have with my X22i. I was hoping that the X32i would come with an upgraded console, one that brought higher resolution to the screen. If you are watching iFit videos you should get pretty good quality. Once again, no where as nice as your 4K TV but good quality. If you are watching UA-cam or Netflix the quality will be based off your internet connection speed. I did notice when I cast the NordicTrack trainer-led workout to my 4K TV it looked better than the actual console. That might be something to consider when buying the treadmill. I already have my X22i and I am thinking if there was no upgrade to the display, then in theory, the resolution on the X32i would not be as good as the X22i since you are taking the same source and displaying it over a larger screen. Am I making sense? Sometimes I wonder...lol
If you take a picture and blow it up...eventually it will degrade to the point where it is not good. I am just speculating here. I know how good my X22i display looks and I realize if I am watching a movie or UA-cam, it will not be as good as watching it on my TV. The tradeoff is I can't exercise sitting on my sofa. So I have to choose one or the other.
Let me get to the point... sorry for rambling on. If your video quality is terrible or marginal, what is your internet connection speed? Remember that the treadmills, at least my X22i, only use the slower 2.4Ghz wireless speed versus the faster 5G speeds. I would try all the different quality settings and see if there is any difference? Or at least a difference that you can see. I always have mine set to high, but I also have a FIOS Gigabyte connection.
If you still do not like what you see then call a NordicTrack rep (good luck with that) lately they have been terrible. Before the Corona virus hit, they were ok. I was on the line for 20 mins the other day. But once I got thru they were awesome. Sent me what I needed and even thru in a free iFit heart monitor! Talk with rep and see what they tell you. If you are not satisfied then return the machine and maybe trade it in for the X22i model. Cost much less and the picture should be better since the screen is smaller. Best of luck... would see about maybe going one step higher with your internet provider to see if that helps.

Hi! I did this and it worked great! Unfortunately - last week when I hit the circle in the center - the "tiles" don't appear and the apps no longer appear on the desktop. When I hit the circle - it goes to a white screen with the Ifit logo and asks me to retry. Is anyone having this issue? Any solutions?
I believe I answered this question already in another video comment, but just in case...
1. Run thru the T³ = Ten Tap Technique. If it says Privileged mode set to True then you should be good to go. If it says "...set to False, then run thru it again.
2. If you are still having issues depending on whenther you have a newer machine or older machine...
A. Newer machine, run thru a Factory Reset using the paper clip in the hole method as outlined in your user's manual. If you do not have it handy, look here for a user's manual: www.iconservice.com/
B. If you have an older X22i without the factory reset option pin hole, then it is a little different to do a factory reset. From the iFit app go to settings and then check app verion, see if the firmware version starts with 5.1.1. If so, I can help you with a factory reset since I have the files needed to do this. My X22i is also Android version 5.1.1.
Once you have completed a factory reset it will be like you just received your new X22i. Go thru the procedures to log in and start iFit. Once all done, you can do the T³ = Ten Tap Technique to access privileged mode.

Cindy, check out the description for the video you just watched. Within the description, I have written the steps to get into "Privileged Mode." Once in privileged mode you will be able to see the three icons in the video.

Can you stream from the x22i screen to your TV without the hack or must you have admin privileges enabled? Also, is there any chance a future firmware will restrict these custom changes?
Hi Pete. Excellent questions. So I can stream/cast from my X22i to a TV, but that is because I have an older model that was bought in 2018. The newer models (X22i, X32i) do not have that ability anymore (what I am hearing from subscribers). The X11i still has the ability to stream/cast. NordicTrack may be limiting this feature, who knows?
As for streaming without the hack? I can stream/cast because my X22i model has an HDMI out port that will let me connect to a TV. Otherwise, the only way I know to do this is to go into privileged mode. There may be internal connections inside the console like a SD card slot or a USB slot, or maybe even an HDMI port, but I have never opened my console to look...
As for a future firmware version that will restrict this all? It is possible, but I believe NordicTrack would be shooting itself in the foot if they did that. Plus, it is an Android feature that allows you to access the administrative privileged mode and it has nothing to do with the iFIT> app. Who knows. I will keep posting videos for the time being... LOL

According to many subscribers, the answer is Yes, usually. I have received the majority of Yes answers to this question as the Bluetooth pairing process is independent of the iFIT>
app. The occasional response is a No. I would go with the Yes answer.

Glad you were able to find the answer. I would suggest you subscribe to my channel if you haven't already so you will be notified of new NordicTrack content I put out. I have had my X22i for two years now and I want to make certain I share all the tricks and "hacks" and information I have learned in that time with you all. I realized NordicTrack only puts out so much info, and Privileged mode was not something they were sharing. Even the NordicTrack reps on the phone either do not know about it or have been instructed to follow a script and provide the default answer, "You cannot access the web on our Treadmills/Incline Trainers.
I promise to keep sharing all the cool things our treadmill can do. For the time being you have about 50 some odd videos at your disposal that will hopefully provide you with some cool info you can use.

But with the bike, I have read a lot of complaints where the 22" screen is so big it makes the whole console wobble and it is not very steady! If I were getting the bike, I would go with the smaller screen.

I did this to my Studio Cycle yesterday, but now when I use iFit, it keeps kicking me out mid-workout and bouncing me back to the desktop screen. Is there a way to undo this??
Hi Emily, not to fret as everything is reversible. In order to undo access to privileged mode, just repeat the T³ (Ten Tap Technique) method. 10 taps, wait 7 - 8 seconds and then 10 more taps. That will disable privileged mode. Great thing is you can do the T³ method whenever you want to install Netflix or UA-cam and then after watching, if you go back to iFit and it still wants to act funky, just repeat T³ to disable privileged mode. Hope this helps. Let me know.

Every time I go to download Netflix on my treadmill I get a “ this device is not supported by the app” but I don’t understand because my allow unknown sources is on?!!!
H jessica...that's to be expected. The newer treadmills come with a newer version of Android. Because of this, the Netflix version on the website won't work. If you follow part 2 and use the Android 9 instructions that goes into detail on the steps you need to follow in order to successfully install Netflix. Ever have the incline get stuck at 40%? I’ve seen it’s an issue.
Hi kbkesq, I have. It was not what I was expecting! I powered my X22i on and off and then I did a recalibration. To do a calibration of your treadmill do the following:
Click on the three lines at the top left of the display.
Then select the settings main menu. Then, select the maintenance section, touch Calibrate Incline,
and then touch Begin to calibrate the incline system. The walking platform
will automatically rise to the maximum incline level, and then return to the starting position. This will
calibrate the incline system. Touch Cancel to return to the Maintenance section. When the incline system
is calibrated, touch Finish.
*IMPORTANT:* Keep pets, feet, and other objects away from the incline trainer while the incline system is calibrating. In an emergency, pull
the key from the console to stop the incline calibration.
How do you remove shortcut icons from the home screen?
Hi Lisa, Just hold the icon and you will then be able to move it. Move it to the top of your desktop where you will be able to remove them.
Would this work for the Commercial 2950?
Most definitely. If the treadmill supports iFIT> then it can be "hacked" to access Privileged Mode. Good Luck.
Hey dude. I have a norctrack X11i and my desktop disappeared. When I pull up and down, nothing comes up. I used to have access before.

How to access Privileged Mode on your NordicTrack treadmill/incline trainer. So it turns out on the newer NordicTrack treadmills like the X22i/X32i models, there's a very easy way to access privileged mode. Go to the settings mode, go to maintenance - then in the space below the options, in the empty space...(also can be done from the main menu as seen in this video)
Tap the same spot 10 times.
Wait 5-7 seconds
Tap the same spot 10 more times.
It will then pop up that "privileged mode is enabled"
If you do it again, it will disable privileged mode.
When you enable it, you can drag down from the top and get access to the menu bar and go into android settings. You can also swipe up from the bottom and get to the default apps - it has a browser, camera, ifit admin, and the ifit cardio.

Nelson is correct - we just purchased one on President’s Day X22i, and I had to tap 10 times, wait, tap another 10 to access admin mode. Thanks man!
It's nice to take control of our own devices. Unfortunate that there has to be forums like this in order for us all to exchange information that is beneficial to us. It's not enough that we paid top dollar for a treadmill incline trainer that most likely cost NordicTrack less than half of what we paid. Having access to privileged mode restores a bit of control back into our hands. Stay safe...

1. My video quality in ifit on the treadmill is poor. It's terrible if I set to auto, and marginal if I set to 'high.' My wifi signal is good. Any ideas??
2. Can I play the treadmill audio through my apple earbuds using bluetooth? So far it seems like it only lets me import audio to the treadmill.

Ok, I've got an update: As to #2, I was able to pair my Apple Airpods with the treadmill (x32i). I did it by accessing privileged mode, as described by Nelson below (tapping 10 times + 10 times). I then went to the desktop, and settings and bluetooth, and it was incredibly easy to pair the Airpods. If anyone has questions, just ask.
Now, I'm just hoping to get the video quality issue resolved. If anyone has experienced that, please let me know.

I was going to recommend trying to pair your earbuds thru the privileged mode bluetooth settings. The normal settings only allow you to do so much. I realize that NordicTrack has to limit a lot of the capabilities because they don't want folks going in there and possibly messing something up.
Hi Nelson. I was able to successfully download the app, but when Netflix attempts to open I get the message “This device is joy supported by the app.”. Any suggestions?
Easy fix. You most likely have a newer model which is actually a good thing. Newer models come with Android 9, which is not compatible with the older Netflix apk file.

I assume you downloaded the Netflix apk file from the Netflix Help Center? You would have downloaded version 4.16-200217-release.apk. Please confirm... If so, then what your error message is telling me is the newer Android 9 machines do not have to use an older Netflix version. That is actually great news. Here is what you need to do. Uninstall the Netflix app you just installed. Then instead of going directly to Netflix, you will be going to the APK Pure web site and search for Netflix. You will find several variants of the apk file. Make certain to choose the one with the Big Red N on a black background. Valentino, what model do you have? Treadmill, bike? NordicTrack, ProForm, Peloton? The more info you share, the better I can help.
For instance, I have a NordicTrack X22i incline trainer that is running Android version 5.1.1.
Valentino, try the Ten Tap Technique (T³) to see if privileged mode may have inadvertently been disabled. If so, then doing T³ will enable Privileged mode back on. From the upper left, tap Menu menu icon .
Tap Account.
Scroll down to Profile & Parental Controls.
Tap the profile you want to change.
NOTE: Data usage settings cannot be adjusted from a Kids profile.
Next to Playback settings, tap Change.
Under Data usage per screen, tap Medium or High, then Save.
NOTE: Adjusting this setting may increase data usage on your device.
Try Netflix again.

I'm not sure if this would be possible or not, but many runners use Zwift to track our runs, and then it's transferred to Strava or Garmin Connect, it would be a miracle if you can figure out how to install the Zwift app in our Nordictrack 🙏

As for Zwift, I have tried several times to install, unfortunately it requires a full fledged version of Android in order to work. NordicTrack provides a scaled back version that fits not include Google Play Services. Zwift won't work...

How do you undo this? I really don't like the home screen being a computer. I want to undo admin mode.
When you go back in and do the 10 tap routine it should take your out of privileged mode and then you should not have access to the desktop. If after reversing the privileged mode, you still boot up to the desktop, then I believe there is a factory reset option within privileged mode. Hold on a sec and I will go power up my X22i and take a look. I have never done the factory reset, so I would defer to all of you to comment on this. Hold on a sec...
So disregard anything I said about factory reset. Never ever do a factory reset unless instructed by a NordicTrack rep. Even I should not be telling you to do a factory reset, since I have never done one. The day I do decide to do a factory reset, i will make certain to video so you can be there with me.
That being said, I found out how to remove your security locks, passwords, patterns, whatever security you added from privileged mode. Even made a video on the steps so it will be easy to follow along.
In a nutshell, if you would like to remove any passwords or security feature you added, follow these instructions:
1. Access privileged mode.
2. Click the circle on the bottom of your desktop
3. Click on Settings option
4. Under Screen Security, click on Screen lock
a. Provide your password or pattern, or pin
5. You will notice, if you have set a password:
a. The first two options, are grayed out
b. You cannot click on None or Swipe as it states, "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage."
6. In order to reset this so you can clear out your password, or even more important, so your NordicTrack incline trainer/treadmill/bike will boot up normally to the iFIT Cardio app, do the following steps...
7. Once in the Settings option, under the Credential storage section, click on Clear credentials
a. You will get a pop up window that says, Attention Remove all the contents? Click on OK. Not to worry, you are only clearing out the security password/pin that you set
8. You will see the following displayed: Credential storage is erased.
9. Now when you go into Screen lock, you will still have to provide your pin/password but then you will have all the screen lock options available. Click on None to remove your security option.
10. Now you have the option of getting your NordicTrack machine back to normal where it boots straight to the iFIT application, not the desktop.
11. If you were to reboot your machine now, it will still default to the desktop, just won't ask you for a password/pin/pattern.
12. Disable privileged mode by going thru the 10 tap routine and then reboot your system. It will now boot up and do its normal thing. After you see the iFIT logo spinning around and changing from a blue triangle to a circle and back again, you will get a temp black screen (that is normal) and then viola, your machine boots up to the iFIT app.
13. I actually ran thru these steps and took a video. Look for it shortly.
14. I like the feel of my X22i booting directly to the iFIT app. Makes it feel like brand new again.
Thanks for an awesome question. Hopefully this is good info for all of us that want to return our treadmills back to normal. You can still access the privileged mode and all your apps are still there.

Some Important Notes...
Depending on what Android version you have, that will determine where to download the Netflix app. Netflix no longer has the older apk file on its website. If you have an older exercise machine, you may need an older Netflix version. Go to the APK Mirror website and search for Netflix 4.16. You will get several options. Try the Netflix 4.16.1 Build 15145 link. Let us know how it goes.

I don't see why it would not work on the NordicTrack X11i. You may be running an older version of Android, but still you should be able to access privileged mode. Please let me know if it works.
Hi Nelson. Great video. Have you even been stuck after clicking on the circle icon to access the application screen? My console screen turns white with the logo and displays a large retry button. I haven't been able to get past this even after a factory reset.

@@NelsonMunoz0714 I'm stuck after swiping up on the bottom of my screen and selecting the icon that is shaped like a circle. To the left of it is a triangle and there is a square to the right of it. I was hoping that clicking on the icon shaped like a circle would bring me to the home screen and display the web browser application.
Got it. So I would power off the machine and then power it back on. Then do the T³ - Ten Tap Technique that will take you out of privileged mode. Afterwards once you confirm iFit is working normally, try the T³ again to gain access to the Privileged mode and see if that works better for you.

Tap the same spot 10 times.
Wait 5-7 seconds
Tap the same spot 10 more times.
It will then pop up that "privileged mode is enabled"
If you do it again, it will disable privileged mode.
When you enable it, you can drag down from the top and get access to the menu bar and go into android settings. You can also swipe up from the bottom and get to the default apps - it has a browser, camera, ifit admin, and the ifit cardio.

Yep it worked!!! Confirmed works on the 2950 :) thanks so much! I tried to do hbo but couldn’t figure that one out. I went to hbo.com but it wouldn’t let me login. Then I downloaded apk hbo from apk mirror, then when I tried to “install” from the downloads app, it said it was not compatible. But I’ll be playing around with it to see what else I can use. Thanks for the tips! And if there are any other tips for apps, let us know!
Make certain the apk states that it supports Android 5. Most of the time the apk files are for Android 6.0+. You need to go back enough where it supports 5.0+.

How do you download the UA-cam app?
I have not been able to download a UA-cam app that works. I just use the web browser and watch UA-cam videos that way. Check out my video on how to watch UA-cam on your NordicTrack treadmill or bike.

I have found out a way to have a shortcut/bookmark on your desktop to your favorite web sites like UA-cam. It will be as good as having a dedicated app. Once you are able to access privileged mode; see this UA-cam video: ua-cam.com/video/gKzyBg4EMh8/v-deo.html
...all you have to do is go to your desktop and hold your finger down till you see the sub menu on the bottom. It will show you Wallpaper and Widgets. Pick the Widgets. Then choose the Bookmark (it will look like a red flag with a star inside). Afterwards, choose the UA-cam bookmark and you will now have a shortcut to UA-cam. Of course, before trying this, you have a UA-cam bookmark already configured. To configure, use your Web Browser and go to UA-cam, even sign in if you want personalized content. Then add it to your favorites/bookmarks. Afterwards when you run thru the instructions above and choose the bookmark widget, you will be able to find your UA-cam bookmark and place it on you NordicTrack privileged mode desktop. That sounds cool... let me say it again... your NordicTrack privileged mode desktop. Has a nice ring to it. I will make a video today showing these steps. Great question that I have yet to see answered here. Now we have an answer.

Great question! I did a little bit of research and unfortunately, unless your NordicTrack treadmill is running Android 6, you won't be able to install. I went on APKmirror.com and there were multiple versions of the Zwift app apk available. The very first earliest version was a beta from July 6, 2018. Unfortunately that only supports Android 6.0+. The answer for my X22i treadmill that is running Android 5.1 is NO. You cannot successfully install the Zwift app on a NordicTrack X22i.
@@NelsonMunoz0714 how can you run android 6.0 on you treadmill? do the latest x32i have android 6 ? Really want to run zwift on the 32i screen!
I believe the new X32i incline trainers come with Android version 7.1.7. That being said I have not heard from any of my 500+ subscribers saying they have been successful installing zwift.

Hi Tina, yes there is a way to dim the screen. From the main iFit> screen, click on the top left menu to the left of your name and then settings. From there click on Equipment Settings and you will see the Screen Brightness slider bar.

Hi Mariana, you should be able to swipe up to change to another app or back to iFit. If you are in privileged mode, you will always have that swipe up or swipe down option available that will allow you to navigate to the Android desktop or another app. Plz come back and let us kknw if you were successful. why on earth isn't this showcased as an option for NordicTrack. Huge advantage over peloton!
Hi T HOFF. You would think they would because it would give their brand such an added boost, unfortunately they do not want to promote this as it would cause so many more calls to technicians asking how to do this and that...
It would also say that they approve installing additional software and that would mean additiinal testing required to see if their iFit app works with everything.
They don't have to do that now as they only have to concern themselves with a scaled-down Android platform that doesn't even have Google Play Services.
Would not hold my breath...
It's a great workaround for people who are already saddled with a 22" screen not good for nothing but an overpriced app, but this kind of thing sucks, people should buy their, or their competitors machines without the tablet until they see the error of their ways and just enable the playstore.
Hi msfsaint, could not have said it better. NordicTrack and Peloton have created a market where they can charge the consumer outrageous prices for what is essentially a treadmill or a bike with a TV. Even worse, they lock the TV so it can only play one channel, its own proprietary workout videos. Hopefully we will see other companies come out and challenge the big names with better offerings and lower prices. Great comment.
