After watching this video please watch the second update video before continuing. There are a couple updates and changes.
This will help you conduct a bypass for privilege mode. This will work with all updates and you will not need to worry about privilege mode once it is all setup and working.
This will allow you to install any app you wish and NOT have to bypass privilege mode with every update and/or restart. You will also NOT need to block IP and/or web update addresses.

Thanks for the indepth video. I'm new to this and have a few questions:
1) is this same process valid in 2024?
2) why do you have to UPDATE iFit after installing your apps?
3) did you install the iFit app from the browser or do you still have access to the pre-existing iFit even after you get into privileged mode
4) what do people do if they get blocked? In case it happens then what? IMPORTANT please answer 🙏
5) and finally you said the privilege mode is locked out at the end, what does that mean and how would you get it back again?

Thank you for your video. My only recommendation is that you show which apks you actually installed (show the url a bit longer) that way people that aren’t tech savvy can find them. The ones you used weren’t the top result in my search and the ones that’s were on the top for me, some didn’t work.

So I’m just trying to find out is this going to void my warranty and what would be the reason why they don’t want you to download these apps on your treadmill my guess would be so that you buy their apps instead of third-party apps but they don’t even have anything that competes with Netflix so why would they not allow you to download Netflix I mean I have a TV in my room I haven’t started my treadmill yet so if anybody can chime in I’d appreciate it
FYI… if you get locked out, you can do a factory reset with the pinhole on the side. Plug in the device and push the pin in. No need to call support to get the PM password.

I have the taskbar app installed and Netflix, Amazon Prime installed. When I open one of the apps after a reboot and software is updated, if it wants to always be on top (pause). Is there a way to prevent that from happening? Nice video by the way

This was PERFECT, thank you sooo much!! Question...I realized we never went back and turned off "unknown sources" after all the app installs and updates. Do I need to go through it all again to turn it off after app installs?
It doesn't matter either way. It was only to allow you to install apps.

Thanks for your video! Question: The primary reason I use privilege mode is to screencast my workouts to a large external TV. Are the Android "Settings" available in the new taskbar so I can enable casting? I saw the setting icon the first time you used the taskbar but not after the machine was rebooted.
Update: I just watched your second video and noticed what you said about casting. I always used the built-in Android casting. It sounds like this is no longer available? Couldn't the Settings app be pinned to the new taskbar?
The settings app will go away one Privilege mode gets locked. You can access Cast by pressing the date/time.
@@JoeCrawXS Thanks. I will try again. I will need to set the accessibility mode prior to updating as I only got an accessibility pop up message when I pressed the date/time.
@@kirkbedtelyon When I was installing the task bar app in Privilege Mode I did the normal steps to enable screen mirroring and mirrored to my TV. I also moved the Cast icon in the Android drop-down menu. I don't know if any of that mattered but when I updated iFit and lost Privilege mode the cast button remained when I pressed the date/time in the taskbar app. I hope that helps.
Here are the steps I did from this video. (and the additional things I did)
1. Pin-reset Nordictrack
2. Do NOT enable WiFi
3. Entered Privilege Mode
I did not add a pin
4. Enabled Allow Unknown Sources
5. Connected WiFi
6. Installed Taskbar (I didn't install Tracker)
7. Opened Taskbar app and turn on App and follow settings updates
8. In Taskbar, I pinned Settings, iFit, Browser
9. I went into Settings, picked Display, picked Cast Screen and Enabled Wireless Display
10. Cast screen to my TV
11. I then swiped down on the top of the screen to get the drop-down menu.
12. I moved the Cast icon to the top row.
13. Run the iFit app and process the updates (I had 2 updates and reboots)
14. After the second update the Settings feature was gone from the Taskbar app but pressing the date/time should open the drop down menu to access the Cast button.
I am not sure which steps matter, but the above procedure has worked for me for the last few days.
@@JoeCrawXS Thanks for sharing Joe. I did the same but the first time I forgot to enable Accessibility for Cast so the casting didn't work. Reset the machine and started over to enable Accessibility for cast. It works! So thankful for all the help I found here on this and other channels. Thanks guys! Now I'm considering blocking I-Fit from making any further updates to my machine.

Yes they said it would, I would highly recommend you do a factory reset on the unit before having them service it if it needed servicing.
Legendary. Thanks for sharing the knowledge. I'm all set up, but failed to turn the screen lock off before doing updates. Is there any drawback to having the screen lock still enabled? Should I go through the process again just to disable screen lock? Cheers!
No big deal. Just make sure you there for start up. After 9 seconds the screen goes black, atleast it did on mine, and no way to wake it up.
Hey John - this sounds awesome. About 2 weeks ago I did a restart after watching other videos and was able to regain privileged mode, but it all failed after turning the machine off and on again (even after blocking the mentioned sites). I'm assuming that your video starts the process after having done another reset? I'll give it a shot tomorrow and let you know how it goes - thanks again for posting!!!

@@cardmeister Hey John, I don't understand what the purpose was for Tracker being downloaded.. You downloaded it and then said it wasn't needed? Didn't see the reason for it.. Secondly, you mentioned DOWNLOADING UA-cam.. UA-cam is now required to go through Google Play and outside apk's doesn't work.. Are you saying you found an apk that works for UA-cam and that you are not going through a browser to get to UA-cam and watch it from there? Thanks..

@@cardmeister Thanks so much - all done and everything worked perfectly!!! My only quandary now is deciding whether or not to do it again just so I have a browser. I didn't fully appreciate why you were installing Firefox thinking the pre-installed browser would work - NOT! But, I don't really use a browser, even for watching youtube, so I'll probably just forge ahead. I turned off notifications for iFit for now, but am so happy to have my spotify and netflix back on MY machine :-) you rock!

Many thanks John; worked perfectly. The only niggle is establishing reliable bluetooth connection with my AirPods when trying to watch Netflix while using the iFit in manual mode! On multiple occasions I had to start an iFit workout, which automatically prompt you to connect your bluetooth device. Once connection is established, I can then leave the workout, start manual mode and Netflix. Any thoughts?
Yep. I had the same issue. I just make sure my headphones are near the machine when I turn it on. Out of the charging case if you use one.
How do you run netflix in a floating window on top of ifit so you can do a workout and watch netflix?
Your video was so much better than the 5 others I tried prior. I was following along nicely until minute 4:36, turning on the Taskbar, my screen went completely white and won't let me swipe up or down. Just frozen on white. Any ideas?? TIA!
Try another Taskbar app. Our machines have slightly different versions so that particular one prob isn't compatible.
John, thanks for working on this. Everything was going smooth with my Nordictrack 2950, until I tried to find the “enable unknown sources” button. It appears to be completely missing from my screen. Have you had anyone ask you about this?
You can skip that step, when you first install from browser it will give you a screen where you can enable it.
Also, no one has actually shown an app being used at the same time as a workout in progress, as far as I can find. When I tried it (from my progress with another video), the workout stops as soon as you try to go to your apps. Please explain or show how this works. Again, thank you so much.
Hello, I wonder if you mite be able to help me out again. This video worked great on my treadmill. I still have access to the taskbar and can select to screen share as before. But the treadmill is not finding any devices now to connect to it just stays searching for a device to cast to. It was working great after these videos but all of a sudden everything still works but the screen casting. It's like NordicTrack doesn't want us to be able to use a bigger screen unless we buy a more expensive treadmill.
Thank you for this video. I followed all of the steps and got set up. When I repower my tread the task bar is still there; however, when I select Netflix it begins to load and then goes back to iFIT. Is there a fix for this?
You might have had a bad install of Netflix. I haven't had that problem. What machine are you using?
What if I already have the updates and can’t get to privilege mode? Is there a way to get into privileged mode and so I can get the task bar like you have in this video?
No. You're gonna need to do a factory reset. Based on the model you may need to call in and tell them you need the code "because you're selling it and want to wipe it clean"
My model has a push button on the side.

I have the taskbar running. I start my workout in manual mode on a 2450 treadmill. I then start Netflix. 15 minutes in, the screen goes to the ifit logo and netflix is in a small window on the screen. I can maximize netflix, but I can never get back into ifit. any suggestions?
BTW, I did not put in the PIN.

I dont think the version matters. Based on our model differences we will have different versions to accommodate our specific machines
Thank you for your video outstanding job! However, if you have an S22i bike newer model made in 2020 or 2021 I'm sorry to say this want work for you. For example, my security screen is different than yours my security screen doesn't have unknown sources and so many options have been removed. Next, I've tried everything even had an IT guy come in with no luck. Now I love my bike so I went out and got an Acer 27 monitor placed it in front of their monitor and it fits like a glove by the way. Finally, now can I watch Nexflix, UA-cam, and DVD movies this is not the way I wanted to go but I'm happy.
I just got mine from black friday and it was manufactured late 2021. I guess before they rolled out the new 2022 screens with the front speakers. I am able to download and install apps. Factory resets with the pin also allows you to bypass the customer support. I think I will also install a process monitor so I can kill the ifit app that locks the PM. Has anyone tried that?

I use Team Viewer. Just make sure they both connected to wifi.
You can access the native Cast by pressing the date/time on the taskbar.

I'm thinking about purchasing an X32i, i noticed their website says a new upgraded X32i. Is the newer one still able to do what this video says? I don't really know how new this version really is. It says it has upgraded cooling for processor and new quiet drive. Anyways I'm just worried that the default software/firmware won't allow me to even do this because it will have already been patched by factory.
That is a legit concern. What version is it running base? Then hope someone can answer on here. If you go to a distributor you can factory reset it while there and test it lol.

I have the brand new X32i, the video are not working great 😞 lagging, jittle, sometimes stopped, pixellized image…this is horrible! They promised me better hd performance , graphics, fast wifi. But this equipment is not able to play 1080p, only 480p this is really horrible. Do you have any solutions? Do you have the same problem?
@@Tarkinx you need wifi in the same room is what I discovered. If the WiFi is in the next room it will often freeze halfway through the workout. What I did was buy a WiFi extender and made a new network SSID specifically for the x32i and I hooked it up via Ethernet from router to extender. I have the extender right next to the x32i. Anyways it's perfect for me and I just turn on/off extender every time I will use x32i. No more freezing since then, the stuttering is normal and won't go away. Seems to stutter every 5 seconds.
It’s working pretty good, however literally every 10 secs there is a pop up that says “ [blank] keeps stopping”. No matter what I do, it doesn’t go away

My next question is privilege mode meant for the commercial aspect like gyms can add stuff as they please because I know with the YMCA you could watch Directv and Netflix and stuff why would they allow the gym to do that and not us any answer to this question would be much appreciated thank you
I dont even think the gyms can anymore since it's a rotating code everytime now.
There is probably a settings app that you can install initially to renable the things ifit is removing. I love the Apple like behaviour of all these companies. People buy your stuff, but you need more money out of them.

just got a new for 2022 S22i bike and followed all these steps and when I try and launch Netflix, a screen pops up that says, "this device not supported by the app" Prime video will open for just a second, then the ifit screen pops back in front of that screen so I can't login ... any suggestions ?
Since you have a new machine. You most likely need a newer Taskbar style app. My machine is almost 2 years old now.
Do we need to keep the pin or can we take it off? this is after everything is installed and pinned.
I'm actually editing a video right now about turning the pin off. I would not use the PIN. I will post the video in a day or two.

You can turn it off. You will not lose it. You can even continue to do all the updates.

What happens if the update has been done how can you restart it all over again?
I've been successful in installing what I need, but once I add the Taskbar app, the display begins to flicker and eventually goes dark and I can't see anything so I reboot, no change... thoughts? I've done a factory reset and attempted this a second time, once again, the flickering occurred... Did another reset, just to got back to normal, and display is working g without issue...
The only thing I can think of is a setting inside Taskbar. Maybe try and find another Taskbar app
Hi John after counting to 10 and everything I get a pop up saying Privileged Mode contact customer care with 6 digit code that doesn’t work. Am I doing something wrong?
If your Taskbar is showing up... then you are fine. We don't need to get in that mode anymore.
I've got an S22i, wondering if I can still run the iFit app in the background to autmatically "control" the bike, while I watch Netflix?
On my x32i all the buttons still work while I'm I'm netflix

I guess what I'm wondering is, can I set a workout that will adjust resistance and incline automatically as it follows the trainer, then minimize that screen so I can watch and listen to Netflix. Right now I have my workout running on the bike, but watch and listen to Netflix on my phone

Setup my NordicTrack - out of the Box Today - my OS version is V9 and many differences in the settings and the screens, and the names. The Version of Netflix for the Netflix site - does not

It will most likely always say "not compatible" but it will work. I don't use Amazon prime video. But I googled this

I have same problem - Amazon Prime works fine, but You Tube just shots down, HBO Max gives me a google play error, and Netflix gives me the "not compatible" error; I also android V9 running on my 22i; any help appreciated

You need to try another apk install version of the app
I've had a problem with my x32i. As soon as I start a program to exercise it goes to the end cool down screen. Do you have any info? I've tried NordicTrack but they don't seem to have an answer. They did send me a new console. So I'm just curious if you have any understanding of the problem
Never heard of that problem. I'd recommend a full factory reset. Have you installed the console?

@Jason Ludwick it amazes me that we all have essentially the same machine, and all of our problems are drastically different. They need quality control or possibly a new Cyber guy on their staff.

I absolutely love my machine when its working but to say I'm not disappointed would be a lie. For 4000 bucks this thing should be flawless. I did hustle the price for a warranty because I knew what I was getting into. 🤞this new console doesn't cause any problems

If it's locked there is no way except calling in again or factory resetting.

You can see the iFit app coming to the front and replacing whichever app you were using on the screen. This happens after only a few seconds each time.

Im downloading Firefox now… how long does it take to download?
When I download APK and open it, it auto rotates my tablet sideways and on the tablet there is no way to rotate it back. Not even in settings/display or going to the top and pressing it down to see auto rotate tab always stays rotated.
Is this on the treadmill or on a tablet?
I just redid my treadmill and had this happen to me. It was a specific app. An APK install app for me.

I have a brand new s22i. It got updates as soon as i fired up. Is this method possible without voiding the warranty?
I dont know it would void the warranty. We aren't changing any settings in the actual mechanical functioning of the machine.
Plus if anything ever happens. I'll just factory reset then file a claim.
It's like on my Harleys. If anything happens I'll take the Tuner, exhaust, intake, and headers off before going in :)

@@mikenadeau9254 if your machine is so new that the base factory install won't allow you in privilege mode... call in and come up with an excuse like youre selling it and want to factory reset. Then Then you're in... install everything as fast as you can.

You don't. That was there because I was messing around and trying to see what app would work best.
What if I the apps won’t open once downloaded?
Did you install them? The apk is just the install file

Trying googling "netflix apk" for example. And the apps you want. Eventually one should work
@@cardmeister I was finally able to install everything and get it working. Once I did the updates the apps open, but then close. The screen says “something went wrong”
