Top tip from a damp climate in England. If you are worried about slugs munching on your young plants, they will be hiding out under those paving slabs during the day and sneaking out at night to have a feast. Lift the slabs during the day and you will find them and you can remove them. They will hide underneath pots as well.Paving slabs, planks of wood or pots are a perfect place for slugs to shelter during the heat of the day. This is when you need to catch them, you can use these hiding spaces to your advantage and get rid of them before it gets dark and damp, when they leave the shelter going out to munch on your plants.

I picked a good day to watch this video because I am 7 weeks pregnant, feeling nauseous, and exhausted! I didn’t feel quite this low with my first pregnancy. I may not be able to totally bring up my energy or stop the nausea completely, but I can at least work at bringing up my mood. Your three steps sound like a good place to start ☀️

It took me a long time to learn to ride a bike but I love riding my bike at 57 years old. Once you get it, you never forget. Your garden is looking amazing! I love to see kids learning how to garden. Natalie, you are doing a great job teaching your kids and loving them.

My 3 kiddos and I are doing the 1000 hours outside challenge. Camping really helps to accumulate the hours.
We have our pool up but it still has also been cold/rainy to actually get in a good swim day.
What wonderful thrift finds! I’m currently in the thick of baby years and spent the morning in a funk. Still experiencing morning sickness into my third trimester. I got up and folded some laundry, did the dishes and finally made banana bread out of the bananas sitting in the pantry. Thanks for spending a little bit of my morning with me and helping me get out of my funk! See ya next video☺️🤗
Oh no! I’m so sorry you’re still feeling sick in third trimester. 😬 I’m 7 weeks into my second pregnancy and just started feeling the morning sickness a week ago. Not fun! When Natalie went into her three steps for getting out of a funk I was like “ah I need this!” Don’t know how productive I’ll be but plan is to get two loads of laundry done, bed made, and car inspection done today!

Wow, so relatable, Natalie!! Yesterday I started my first “time of the month” in about 2.5 years… I got pregnant with my second kiddo in early November 2019 and I’m still nursing him, so it finally just came back now. I was feeling SO YUCKY today, but because of watching your vlog, I was able to get some gardening projects done and do a load of dishes, both of which definitely helped with the rut. Thank you so much for always keeping it so real and relatable!!! 💕💕💕

You probably already know this since your mom is a gardener but in case you didn’t, smashed egg shells work really well to discourage snails and slugs in your garden. And it’s a great kid task 😂

Natalie I live in the Pacific Northwest as well and I don’t know why but I have not had a single slug yet. I don’t remember any last year either. I don’t know what’s going on but I hope you have the same luck that I have. One of the things that helps your garden keep the slugs out is the bricks you put down to keep the rabbits out. The slugs definitely won’t want to go over those so you may wanna put those all around your garden. Good luck

My youngest is 3 and that light at the end of the toddle tunnel is becoming much clearer. I’m so excited for the big kid stage of life!

Thank you for being real :) I now have 3 little bubba's 5 1/2, 2 and 10 weeks old (2 girls and lucky last is a boy) and it's been interesting 😊 I love them to pieces, but it can be challenging at times and it's comforting knowing I'm not the only one going through low patience days and days of low motivation xo thank you :)

the brassbox is usually used for sugar pieces. My grandma had little tongs in it as well, to pick out the sugar.
We got passes to our local water park and my boys are doing swim lessons for the first time starting next week. Looking forward to being the mom that says yes and does the fun things with my kids. Enjoyed a family bike ride last night, I got in the cold water with them yesterday, etc. So worth every moment and memory. #premierefam #premierfam

So cool that you are learning Spanish. My family moved to Mexico when I was 8 years old and after a few months my siblings and I picked up enough Spanish to communicate. Now 20 years later we are all bilingual and my kids are learning Spanish too. I really want to learn another language now, my top goals are Portuguese and ASL but I never really make it enough of a priority to make quick progress. I'm going to keep trying and make time for it now that you've given me the reminder and inspiration 💙
Try to find a community education through a school to do ASL, it's so important to learn ♡ also UA-cam the ASL Meredith is really good and I love the sign duo.

I miss eggs too. Only mine is a very mild allergy (I don't notice really anything) so I still eat them baked into things. I just try to limit them so it doesn't turn into a more serious allergy. I used to eat four eggs every single morning either scrambled or over easy. Now I eat granola or oatmeal.

If you happen to get slugs you might try this: Take a plastic cup and put some beer in it and bury it to the top edge of the cup. The slugs will come to the smell, fall in and drown.

Definitely relate to it being way too cold right now. I felt bad for starting my seeds a few weeks later than I wanted to but it's still so cold that it's almost like it's beginning of may still, and it just keeps raining constantly making it even colder. I can't really plant too many things anyway since I only have a 3m x 3m balcony but it's good to start learning now. (I'm from Finland)

In Sweden the brass box are used to have sugar cubes in and when guest come to drink coffee/eat a snack (fika) you put the box out on the table for them to put sugar in the coffee if they want some

We pulled our son out of public school now that he has finished kindergarten & I am going to be homeschooling. I love Spanish, I started learning it even before I could read well enough to follow the subtitles on TV. By the time I was 9 yo I was fluent in Spanish and my brother learned German while watching cartoons, so I applaud you for teaching your kiddos too. :D

Nope having a head cold day and need to get things done, it's just hard when you spent the night in a hallway waiting for a storm/tornado to pass and you can't breathe right cause of the congestion! But.... I did get a load of laundry done, and watered the tomato plant, onions and carrots. Can't put them in the ground yet it's to cold still!
Thanks for being so real! I’m so sorry you have bad cramps. I used to get awful cramps that would make me sick and pass out from the pain. Ugh, being female can be rough! I’ve been pregnant or breastfeeding (save for a few months here and there) since 2015 and it’s been so nice to have a break from monthly pain. Currently stuck in bed with my worst ever morning sickness (#4 baby) and I’m so disheartened to be so unproductive. I have a deadline of travel and house sitters coming up and I’m starting to panic a bit because this sickness is not letting up. 😩 Hope your cramps passed quickly. Warm lavender bath soaks always gave me relief. 💕

@@NatalieBennett thank you Natalie. I really appreciate the prayer. I’m trying to trust God in all things; it isn’t always easy. Like you, my kitchen explodes as soon as I’ve cleaned it. And there’s always laundry. Loved hearing that it gets easier as they get older. Mine are 5, 3 and 1 - my oldest helps a bit. Would love them to do more. Maybe you could share how you’ve motivated your kids to help? I would love mine to be cheerful helpers and not feel like it’s a burden. Maybe that’s unrealistic because I feel like that about my chores! Haha!
