- The Rouse brothers picked up this bike from a friend and fellow industry guy. They paid a respectable price for it: $1,500. The bike was in good shape; it was about 95 percent original, the plastics still had the warning label on it from the factory, and the bike also came with the original seat cover.
All in all, it was maintained very well and ran great, making the restore much easier than other builds the brothers have taken on. The two brothers rolled up their sleeves and got to work on the bike. Dane started tearing it down and Brent contacted his personal sponsors as well as Jay Clark for help to bring this RedBud edition build to life.
This was the outcome of their work. Thank you to all companies who helped the Rouse brothers build this bike for Racer X.
A very special thanks to www.perrismx.com.

I bought a new 1991 CR250 off the showroom floor. I loved the color and graphics for that year. I only trail road it and it performed great for my purpose. Sometimes I wish I still owned it.
Dad bought me a new 94 125 and I remember it well...the zebra seat and white shrouds on the 91s is still my favorite
Just picked up a 91 cr250 for vintage class this past weekend :)
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Still loving the 2 stroke scream. Brings back great memories. Great work guys.
You need Ronnie Mac test ride for that screaming cr250
put number 69 on it and cut the fenders off!
Building the same bike right now!! ❤
My boy Dane Rouse. 💪
I've got an 88 that I rebuilt (nowhere near to this spec) that is an absolute trooper. What was interesting, and you hit it in this video, is how it feels sluggish with the FMF Gnarly pipe. The stock pipe had a higher powerband than the Gnarly, but no other aftermarket pipes seem to exist. It's a trail monster with a weighted flywheel and the pipe, with pretty good torque and less of a stall problem, but I miss the top end too.
Yeah when it’s not a racer x bike it has a different brand pipe and silencer in it and it really wakes her up
MOTO 809 That's a good thing restoration is Rebuild
What a beauty i had one off those from 91 but this one is awesome
That is beautiful
Where did you get the new plastics?
Outstanding build of an old 2-smoker. Again like a lot of the builds on UA-cam, can you list the parts and give us a price list and vendors. I like old school bikes, but rebuilding them is difficult for regular non sponsored guys.
Jesus Christ born in 1991 when he said that I thought he was way older
I just look good for my age hahah
@@danerouse55 Nice job on the bike builds. Beautiful work.
Yes im like fuck im was born around that time fucker looks 40 i guess the chew fucks you up!
I thought the same thing!! I was born in 74 and dude looks older than me. He can rip that old 2 stroke though!
Haha I didn't even click that off until you said something. Lmao I was born in 91 and I hope I dont look that fucking old
Oh if it had the og graphics...one of my favorite yrs...I had a xr80 in 91 and 94 got my first cr125...it's still goin
Wow I was born in 81 and still have the 1990 with a 1991 engine
I have one of these, I love it!
This inspired me to restore my 1991 cr250 now im a couple thousand bucks in the hole 😂 thats what happens when you listen to your father in law.
I rebuilt a 91 CR500. Wish I never sold it!
That's nice
very nice motor really great
Nice!
wow i was riding in the Southwick national and this guy wasn't even born im fucking old
Nice bike!! I have a 91 cr250 I'm working one and have a question. To convert to the 98 front end, was that a swap of triple forks, hub brake everything ? And did it only require that conversion bearing kit to make it work? Thanx
damn it was al original when he bought it would have been sick to see that!
Have you find any trouble with the kickstart? Mine is always ratcheting even with a new spring. Looked online and it looks like a common problem. If it was not for that ratchet problem the bike would start with 2-3 kicks, now i have to wrestle it like 10-15 times.... if someone know anything
@Kane Sandifer the teeth are straight. It gets better for a little while when i stretch the spring. But then the spring settles back to its original tension and it start ratchetting again.
Put a washer under the spring, it will help :)
Rebuilding one right now, judging by what you all had to put into I'm going to sell it and by a YZ lol
Where are the graphics from?
What happen to the stach?
nice
He is not lying about those forks I had an 88 yz250 at the time and when these first came out I got an opportunity to test one that honda had terrible forks hand pounders my yz had better suspension
I’m surprised Ronnie didn’t sneak in and cut the fenders
dude names all the great parts and companies that helped him build this then says its abit slow and sluggish..... dam
Now I have to go buy bubba burgers
I would have gone with a JMB #8 replica ...this is fugly ;)
Ping, why did you not stop him from talking.
Probably because it’s my bike and I built it
@@danerouse55 cool build! Thanks for sharing with us!
Damn he looks 35
I was born in 73......not building a 73 dirt bike! lol
Why don't they go riding on a highway?
Hahaha he said 1991 lol kid you think you’re old but you’re not
Homie you're 40, quit lying lol
Man that thing looks slow
