I don't know anything about motorbikes but I like watching restorations. Cool how you made all the changes reversible for potential restoration later. Best of both worlds!
Leon got me here. I love vintage MX bikes. My first was a 1980 CR80 when I was 11 and weighed 100lbs. I held on for dear life. I could smoke all other 80’s to the first corner and never let up. Kaplan Cycles….another amazing channel keeping the 2 Strokes alive! This seating position and the violent powerbands of these early CR’s is gonna be insane!!!
Been a mechanic for 18 years and Always thought what it would look like to strip an enduro down to look like that…your bike came out like a piece of art.

@@JpJp-zd7vu I’ve been just going to a Honda parts warehouse online and pulling up the parts schematic,… to see how parts go together, and to order any replacement parts that are still available. Also the parts and numbers from there have been a huge help tracking down parts that I need.
Absolutely love it. Love that nothing was cut up to do this build, although if you had I believe that it’s nobody’s right to get in your face about it. Your bike your choice. Keep doing your own thing.
This is a sweet rebuild. I love the looks and the scrapyard and smelter didn't get it. Thanks for saving it and giving it a great looking new life. It's people like you who keep the dream alive.

I have a 1979 or 1980 Suzuki DS 80. Complete bike. I have had it a couple years now and had planned on getting it running. When I got it the motor still turned but now after sitting its stuck. Long story short this video has really made think about what I could with this little bike. Great video. Glad this bike will ride another day instead of hitting the recycle yard. ♻️
When I was a teenager I had a Honda MT50. It was a 1984 I think, or from around that year anyway. I normally rode it to school every day but in wintertime I replaced the rear shocks with ring-spanners to lower it so I could easily flat-foot it and ride it on the ice. I always thought it had great chopper-potential when looking at it in that lowered position and you just proved that. Great build and video, thanks for sharing. Say hi to Leon for me please.
At first I thought this was a weird build but I like the process man especially the fact that you took it and made it yours without having to murder the frame

80's strokers were thee best, I rode schoolboy trials over here in the UK and had a little go at moto X and enduro. so miss my old bikes. TY175, RL250, YZ250, IT175 etc etc Not to mention all the road going strokers I had back in the day, thanks for sharing.

When I was 13 I had a 1974 Kawasaki F11 250 that someone before me had pretty much converted to a strict dirtbike. I bought it from a neighbor down the street because it didn't run. I pulled the jug off to see the cylinder was badly scarred but my dad was a tool and die maker so he bored it out and got an oversized piston. I installed all of that and then saw it had no spark. Points and condenser later it fired on the 1st kick. That bike served me well for years afterwards.
This is cool! I had a 1974 Suzuki TM125 i got bored and turned it into a drag bike, split the cases and changed the gearing on 1st and 2nd gear for quicker starts, it also ran on cox airplane fuel, (had some nitro methane in it), and had to drill out the carb main jet to get enough fuel to run it. It looked similar to your CR ratt rocket but more level with aluminum tubes for forks,no suspension and no rake on front end. Was pretty quick on 1/8th mi strip. But not so much on 1/4mi. Nice video!👍

These bikes bring back fond memories. My dad bought me the first Yz mono shock that showed up at the dealer in 75 I think it was. I raced that and a Maico 400 in the open. Thanks for the fun video. Cool stuff
Awesome mate. At 53 this brings back great memories of having dirt bikes way back in those days and being young had to learn how to get by as most of us could not afford to spend crazy money like the one guy i knew who had a mom who spent a fortune on him to race even though he was not near as good a rider nor fit or strong enough to handle the 125cc he had when we were on 250 cc and 500's but hey he had a good time i guess as did we all.
Yeah I was careful not to alter anything in case I wanted to turn it back on to a motocross bike someday, but actually I’m really loving this bike the way it is. Thank you so much for watching. ✌️✌️✌️

Very impressed. I've got a very complete and running '01 CR250R in the garage that just needs a suspension job (it's a little stiff for my son's weight and intended purpose - trail riding), the engine gone through, and a general cosmetic "freshening up". And I've been putting it off for two years because I'm hopelessly intimidated by the task. I think you just gave me the incentive to start tearing into it.
that 2x clear coat is great stuff i painted my front bumper on my car and used that stuff for the clear coat and it came out perfect once i cut and buffed it! Nice build btw I think its cool and unique very creative!

I have a slightly modified 03 Honda CBR954rr and a Track only ZX10r but nothing I have really taken the time and effort to actually rebuild for MYSELF and not some customer. I watched 90% of the vid, only skipped like 2mins of the middle stuff .LOL
I absolutely love this build! Have you considered gearing it higher and installing a lighting coil? You could probably make it street legal at that point! You wouldn't rip the highway but it would be the coolest bar hopper ever.
Often times I will fast forward a video to the end so I can see the finished product,and in doing so miss much of the video… But you sir do a great job to the point I watched from start to end. 🙂.
This person must be brilliant to be an expert at restoring old motorcycles, maintaining salt water aquariums, and making videos! (And either single or having a very understanding wife!)
Change the pilot jet on the carb one or two steps smaller. I could be wrong but it sounds like it's a tad too big. The carb is big for the displacement imho but with the right main/plot jet tuning, it will work fine. I love these project. I'm working on a '82 honda 100cc myself. It's fun

Change the pilot jet on the carb one or two steps smaller. I could be wrong but it sounds like it's a tad too big. The carb is big for the displacement imho but with the right main/plot jet tuning, it will work fine. I love these project. I'm working on a '82 honda 100cc myself. It's fun
