Thanks for sending this to me! Elephants are my absolute favorite animals! I have seen other footage of a baby stick in a pit and it took 3 adults to get him out. I'm sure his mother was hearty broken that she had to leave her baby. Glad u were able to rescue him! :)

I used to go to the zoo when I was a kid, which was only about 2 miles from my home. I would go there as a teen, a lot, just to watch the animals do their thing. Ahh, I loved this. Thank you for posting this for all to enjoy. I love baby animals of all kinds, but I must confess baby elephants are my favorite. I noticed that the powder was clumping when the water was added for the elephant formula. If you put a small amount of water in the bottom of the jug, then add a small amount of powder, stir until smooth, then add more water, then powder, stir until smooth, and so on it won't clump. Blessings to you guys on the front lines. :)
Elephants are very smart! I describe them as huge herbivorous humans with four legs and a trunk. They can remember anything and they are very emotional too. Mourning for their love ones every time they visit elephant grave yards.
What a wonderful refuge for the baby elephants! I do hope they are right that the babies will get to be with herds and form "families" -- or for the little male that was stuck in a ditch and separated from his mama, maybe they'll find each other again.
