Jeff beck did not play on this version. It is stevie multitracking himself on the clavinet! Jeff beck has his own version. Basically, stevie gave him the track and at the last minute, had a change of mind and took the track back which Jeff was not too happy about. Stevie repaid him by having Jeff play lead guitar on another track off the talking book album from which superstition appears on. The track is called looking for another pure love. Hope this helps.

Best thing about Stevie is that He’s a 1 man band! He plays drums, keyboard bass, piano, synthesizer, clavinet (that’s the funky keyboard used in this song) and of course harmonica! Stevie played every instrument in this song except for the horns, and did that for like 90% of the songs he’s made. Truly one of the music goats!!!

Another thing he did with this song. Think about how braille works. The black keys would be easier for a blind person to sense, SO he wrote this song and maybe others in a way to play almost all black keys, E flat minor.
I spent my whole life thinking this was a guitar and wondered how somebody could pick these notes to make it sound this good.
Watch this video where someone shows most of the music on a piano from above. It's one minute before the first white key is played.

Stevie Wonder is the GOAT!! Not only is he an extraordinarily talented singer and musician (playing a few different instruments), he is a PHENOMENAL songwriter. In fact, he has written (or at least co-written) all of his music since the late 1960s. "Superstition" was everybody's jam when it was released in 1972. His catalog of music is insane. With ALLLLLL of his amazing hit records, my all-time favorite is still "I Was Made to Love Her", which was released in 1967. Will you please react to it? He played clavinet and harmonica on this song, which he co-wrote at the age of 16; it was released 5 days after his 17th birthday!!

It's not enough to listen to a Stevie Wonder song, you have to listen to whole albums. EVERYTHING he did in the 70s are classics. He influenced everyone who came after him in R&B on some level. He is a living legend and is unbelievably prolific in his song writing ability. Stevie's version came out before Beck's version with his power trio, BBA; their rendition, saw 'em live, also '73, was pure smokesmanship...look for a version with Jeff and Stevie both!

My daughter is 25 years old and her favorite singer is Stevie Wonder ( when the pandemic hit she said to me “we must find a way to keep him safe! We need to bubble wrap him) I just cried from laughter but she was so afraid something would happen to her favorite singer before she even got to see him in concert! She and I love him. Our favorites beside this one are “Sir Duke”, “Higher Ground”, “My Cherie Amour”, “Isn’t she lovely” and “Overjoyed”. Please react to any of those if you are able. If you react to Higher Ground, please make sure to react to the Red Hot Chili Peppers version. I really enjoy your channel! You guys are just adorable, funny and insightful! Thank you!! ❤️

"I think I've heard this!" You're going to say that a lot. I guarantee you've heard plenty of his songs before, you just didn't know it was him. To highlight how massive his catalog is, Superstition is from his fifteenth studio album, released in 1972. Check out "Sir Duke" and "Isn't She Lovely," both huge fan favorites.

As I'm sure many other people have mentioned, Stevie Wonder is an amazing musician: vocalist, instrumentalist, and composer. And he got started performing professionally as a young boy and was dubbed "Little Stevie Wonder" back then. "Superstition" is one of my favorites. That beat and bass line are ICONIC. I don't know how you can listen to this song and not start moving your body and be put into a better mood!

After the corporations took over the music industry and bought up the major radio stations, they controlled what of their 10 songs got played over and over that they were pushing at the time. These kids have literally grown up without a music history. In many places, nothing but the favorite auto-tuned artists of the moment get played. No old videos get played. They don't know anything but the current batch being shoved down everyone's throats. Not mine, I can't listen to it having grown up with fantastic real music and musicians.
