Hi Everyone and Welcome Back to My Bucolic Life Channel. Meet my new sewing project.
This is a great little pattern. I love a stress free project. So just to make it fun I pulled out my paintbrushes for a little detail and color.
I hope you like it!
~Marie

It's so lovely, and that gorgeous blue looks great on you🌺
Marie, I want you to know that I have been sewing for years, but I always learn something new from watching you. You are fantastic. Please keep doing what your doing. Love your videos.
And you frequently remind me of things I learned many years ago😉
Not only do I enjoy learning from your sewing tutorials...but the glimpses of the "bucolic life" at the beginning and ending of your videos are really fun to watch.
A plain blouse made special by your painted flowers. 😉
I love watching your processes. I run a non-profit sewing studio in Northern Virginia and have referred so many of my students to your step by step tutorials. Thank you for sharing your talent.
That is awesome!
Enjoy your videos so much because you go thru the instructions step by step. So many projects I can’t keep up.
Beautiful! love the painted flower detail. Embroidery would also look nice. 😊
This shirt turned out great! Well done!
That turned out so pretty! I love it!❤
The pleats and the wide hem on the sleeves makes it look like it has a cuff without having to make a cuff. I like the pattern overall. The yolk and pleat in the back is like a shirt or blouse and yet it is also a tunic. Very nice and flattering as well as comfortable. Your painting gives it that extra something.
Fits you well and a lovely vibrant colour.
That color looks gorgeous on you. Definitely your color. Love the flowers you added. Beautiful blouse! Bravo 👏🏼
I’m thinking this solid blue blouse is the perfect one for some lovely machine embroidery designs, but that’s just me.😊 Your painted designs are so cute! That seems like it will be a nice sturdy blouse for your many tasks, but could go out and about as well.😉 Thanks for sharing your lovely work 🎉
What a lovely top! The painting is 👌 Thank you for sharing
Goodness Marie, it’s surprises me how often we pick the same patterns to make
I love that top, it’s so comfortable and easy to wear
Have two for winter, pyjama tops
One in a liberty Cotton for tidy
One in a lightweight lawn as a sun shield in the garden
I was asked to make one for a friend in a really cool stripe - that was fun and looked great on her
And now I’m just about to make it ‘again’ in an apricot rayon for my daughter to wear with jeans
It is so versatile and easy, but still an interesting pattern
I enjoyed seeing what you did with yours and the painting that’s pretty neat
Till next Friday hope you have a great week. See you then
It's nice to find something perfect for you ☺️
Really loved your addition of the flowers. I like the way that you made them slightly asymmetrical.
I was thinking that they would be pretty extended up just a little farther on the shoulders and on the cuffs, & maybe on the back of the yoke, but then when you modeled it, I see that more embellishment (other than on the cuffs) would have been covered by your beautiful hair and it would be pointless.
The top was very flattering and the flowers were just exactly the right touch on that expanse of blue.
Your videos are always a treat to watch and I can always count on you to add to my knowledge & sewing savvy.
Thank you! But please do whatever makes you happy and if more flowers, go for it!
What a lovely top
Will watch with interest as I might be able to do
Also my favourite colour
Please keep up good work helping us to sew
I’m in uk
Love the painted flowers.
What a cute and fun top for Spring! And your painting adds so much to make it super special. 🥰
Super cute. Kudos for taking something basic up a notch. I might try this one after seeing it made up.
Very pretty! I'm still laughing over your "wedgie" comment😂
Once again a really lovely make Marie. 😊😊
That's a lovely top Marie and the decoration just sets it off and the colour is gorgeous,it really suits you. Take care.
Beautiful! Love the flowers, leaves and vines for a bit of simple flair. So you!
Very pretty and the colour suits you perfectly 🙋🏼🏴
Marie that was beautiful painting on the top.
Fridays are my favourite since you begsn your channel. And again you amazed me with this beautiful blouse made even more so with painting simple cute flowers on it.
❤❤❤❤
I throughly enjoyed watching your video! I appreciated the explanation about adding an extra stitch at the end of the V !!
Marie, Love what you do, great help for new sewers.
It's adorable! The electric blue is sumptuous, and the painting around the neckline is the perfect finishing touch 👌 I'm not confident with painting fabric, so I'd have used a ribbon or lace trim, but the general concept is the same. Beautiful! 😍
Beautiful top! I love the process. New subscriber.
You're impeccable!!! 👏 Bravo
Beautiful top love the color
Great video! Really pretty top. I’ve been sewing for a long time but I tend to do the same techniques over and over. This was great to remind me of other ways of doing things. Very inspiring. Thank you!
Loved this whole make. I’m going to try painting on fabric now . Thank you again
Love your art work!! Really made the difference Marie, great job.
I almost bought this pattern today. Well I’m going to now! Beautiful
Such a nice tutorial. I appreciate that although you follow the pattern, the tutorial feels easygoing. Thank you.
Beautiful! I love how you teach. It turned out great. And I was interested that you painted on fabric.
I thoroughly enjoy your farm introductions.
So beautifully done🎉
That came out beautiful
So pretty! Love the painting!
I made this last year and I love it! I liked your painting as it really jazzed it up. Thank you for sharing.
Been watching you for months, never seen you paint before. I'm so impressed. I've tried one stroke and never felt I got good at it. I'm proud of you! I also am ordering that hole punch. Love that idea. Love the animals too.
Keep trying, maybe on scraps. It is fun once you get the hang of it.
Very nice Marie, love the painting.
Inspiring, giving me ideas for the same top.
Super cute
Super cute!
When you finish your seams with the serger how many needles do you use. I just got my first serger now I feel like a grown up seamstress.
I bought my first Serger last year. It uses 2 needles and four threads. Happy serging!
I use only one needle. The one closer to the blade. It makes a more narrow serge stitch that way.
Thank you very much.
I have some batik in my stash that I have been wondering what to do with. I think this pattern is what Ive been waiting for.
Love it. 😍😍😍
Pretty and the color looks goodbon you😊😊
Thank you! Sweet!
Very good sewing techniques. Is it possible for you to have more light in your sewing room? The video was a bit dark for me to see.
Love the addition of the fabric paint. I have a question if you would please answer this for me. Why do you search your edges before Sewing? Do you not use your surgery for your edges and seam in one is this just a preference you have.
I like to press my seam allowances open, and it is much easier to fix things this way. But you do you!
what kind of cordless iron do you use?
I sew at a quarter inch, so I can't clip into my pieces. I've never been able to get myself to sew at a larger seam allowance because it feels like waisting fabric. Haven't had anything fall apart since I started felling seams in the 90's
I am your size. What size did you cut out?
Sorry, I saw the cord
