I was asked to test the power consumption so I did. The MP60 idled around 6 watts and during a Cinebench run maxed out at 20 watts (120 VAC) with all cores at 2.8 GHz, but settled to 16 watts with all cores around 2.5 GHz, and 15 watts when down to 2.4 GHz. Also, if anyone is wondering why I didn’t reload Windows on this machine it was due to time constraints. I will though, and that could provide the opportunity to make a video on how to install the latest Windows 11 with only a local account. Let me know if you’d like to see that.
I've been running my MP60 with the N95 chip for about one month now. I installed MX Linux 23.1 and the MATE desktop in a dual monitor setup, and everything has been working without issue. I don't game and so fan noise is nonexistent. This Blackview replaced a Gigabyte BRIX that I ran for nearly 10 years under Ubuntu 14.04. Now that software support for that machine has ended, I thought I should finally do an upgrade. This new mini with the N95 is just so much faster than the BRIX with the n2807 processor.
Truthfully I'm not sure. I had planned to run maybe two or three, but now with all these I am still wondering exactly what to do other than just testing them out.
@@ntgm20 well I guess there might be some way to lend your hardware (and some internet bandwidth) to some hosting company and get payed for that. If there's no such, you can start your own. Like crowd hosting with some redundancy (if one of the lender will be offline).
I have seen them, and may snag one at some point. I'm back into some used business machines right now but reviewing minis are fun, as long as people are still enjoying my format.
What does a full sized gaming tower use for watts at idle. I just retired and I spend a lot of time with my PC hooked up to an 82 inch Samsung. I have solar on the roof and want to reduce consumption now that I'm home all the time. I hardly ever render videos now. My PC is an AB350 with a Ryzen 2700x and a Geforce rtx 2060
It is hard to say exactly, but I'd guess yours is using 30-40 watt at idle. I say that because my Dell XPS can get down in the teens, but my MSI boards tend to idle around 21 watts. The lower end graphics cards I've tested add 10-15 watts when added as well, and it also depends on your power supply and if you have spinning drives along with how fast they spin and such.
What's the wattage from the wall at idle and under load? This is a good detail for these mini pc's, especially for those living in Europe where electricity prices are so high, and low power computers are in demand.
You asked and I tested! I did a Cinebench R23 run, and the max pulled was with all four cores at 2.8 GHz and it was 20 watts (120VAC). That settled into 16 watts with all cores at 2.5 GHz and 15 with all at 2.4 GHz. The lowest draw I saw at idle with Bluetooth and WiFi off was 6 watts, and the same when WiFi on and connected but also idle.
@@ntgm20 That's great, thanks for the info; at this price point (low end mini pc's), power efficiency is definitely a data point for consideration. I appreciate the update!
It is, but I've seen the prices fluctuate. The only downsides from AliExpress is time to get it and no real recourse if it fails or doesn't work. Hope it works for your purpose, I think it will work out well.
I'm not certain. I think the problem would be the iGPU, as the CPU is more powerful than the minimum requirements of a Intel Core 2 Q6600. All settings would probably have to be on low to run, but might not be enjoyable.
Neat unit but a bit over priced compared to say a HP T740 thin client which walks all over it specs wise, cpu 2x faster, price, on ebay about $300, dual dimm slots, pcie x16(pysical, only 8x bus) slot, M.2 NVME slot, M.2 SSD slot, wifi, gigabit ethernet, 4 display port connectors and its able to drive them.

Hi, can the 8gb ram version be upgraded to 16gb?
Happy the vids are back!

Very cool! Thanks for sharing your setup and thoughts. I hope that it keeps going well for you.
Specs look pretty legit for emulation. Definitely better than a lot of the pre-built systems.
Thanks man. Biggest bottleneck could be graphics, but overall not a bad system if you can snag one on sale especially.
Is it useful for intense games?
I'd say no.
what about the fan noise ?
Thank you for this video. How will you enter into the BIOS, which key ypu have to press?
Thanks! It is the Delete key (just verified).
Are you building some kind of small data center out of all your mini pcs? :)

Paper! Below. I love mini PC and I'm really surprised what they can fit into cube that small these days.
Hey! Have you seen new Alder Lake N95 and N100 mini PCs arrived? Do you plan to grab one - or you already had enough of them? :)

Ehy should i buy this over an original computer, just the size??
Size and for some people it is the power draw. When energy prices increase dramatically that can be a real issue for someone.
@@ntgm20 yes, thank you for the explanation.
Im watching this with the same pc
Yes bought one on Ebay typing this reply on it, looking for aftermarket cooling solution.
Gotcha. Hope you find a good solution.

How well would it handle as a Zoom system?
I haven't tried it for that but based on the CPU and RAM I think it would work okay to run a Zoom session.

This mini pc will overheat and thermal throttle very poor cooling solution , do not use with sata base connected no cooling at all!!!
