Still a game - But simulations! I bought FS2020 to fly around the world (in VR) and see it, geographically speaking in the high res I can afford (its built on Bing maps with handcrafted selected cities) Same for car racing in as-close-to-real-as-possible in a chair with wheels, pedals and VR goggles on and then a rumble seat that vibrates when you go over curbs or rough grounds. I have an Index, but I hate the wire on it, so waiting for that "make Index wireless" thing for 400 usd - and i also dont have the wheel/pedal/seat yet, but its the plan!
Watching UA-cam 360 videos of space probe footage in VR. Sailing around Saturn seeing the rings stretch out, Saturn and her clouds... I'd like even higher resolutions, but at this point it borders on awe and scary. Closest I'll get to being out there.
I'm using it to showcase my paintings. I created my own museum with 3D max, made 360 renderings and made it VR ready with 3DVista. So when visitors go to my website it's more immersive than traditional websites (without a headset the website is also 360)
@Cas and Chary VR You rock! Fantastic video! The bit where you can scan your house in VR and then virtually walk through it years or decades later made my head explode! Thanks so much for making this video!
VR and 3D printing are quite similar in that the media were simultaneously responsible for hyping them up at ridiculous level, but also the ones who ask "where is this revolution we were promised?" a few years later, when they were the ones who created the unreasonable hype in the first place. Meanwhile quietly in the backgroudn, VR and 3D printing are both transforming the way people work, every product we use likely went through a 3D printing prototyping phase, and VR is used in many large scale architecture and construction project during the design phase.
Thanks for doing this, I have struggled so much as I am not a FPS gamer, but love the building and creating stuff. Productivity is big one too. Thanks for the great idea.
Free roaming in ”Kayak VR: Mirage” seems like a really nice way to experience places. ”Vermillion VR” seems cool if you want to learn painting, or ”Tilt Brush”. Also, ”Richie's Plank Experience” isn't really a game, it should fit in here.
BigScreen on the Quest2 is amazing - although it would be nice to populate the rest of the cinema with people, as it's quite creepy sitting on your own, especially if you're watching a horror film!
I just started using a plugin called vr sketch made with unity to 3D model in vr for sketchup and it works really well! It's definitely not perfect yet since there are still tools missing and i can't use my other plugins in vr but at least my software is open on screen so i can switch to flatscreen really fast and do what needs to be done. it's a feature i've been looking forward to for years and i'm so happy it's finally here!!
Catching up with your videos, I've been low on YT watching lately so sorry for this late comment but wow, this video is the most profound yet! (well apart from your engagement proposal video!). I mean, I grew with the most imaginative sci fi visions of future tech and star trek but NONE of them could predict or imagine the practical uses of VR that features in your awesome video. What a time we live in. VR has changed my life in personal entertainment, fitness and I am now beginning to explore it in productivity with my new trackable keyboard purchase. But now I will first watch the remaining videos in the last two months of your channel.
Excellent post. We need more of this sort of thing. I use VR mostly for games but I also love exploring places, experiencing other environments and lately checking out exercise apps.
Excellent video. I keep waiting for the hardware that will allow me to work in VR. We are getting closer and closer with Pico4 and the new Meta product. Lightweight, high resolution and color passthrough so I can see my real keyboard and mouse with a giant workspace.
@@CasandChary I personally have very high hopes for this new Meta "Project Cambria" headset. Every new device I bought, I got Virtual Desktop and tested just to realize it was not there yet. It needs enough resolution to allow me to read all text effortlessly, a passthrough mode with enough resolution to make me forget I am looking through a camera without distortions like I got with the Q2. Lastly, it must be lightweight so I can keep wearing it just like I would with normal glasses. It does not have to be the same weight right now; it needs to be comfortable enough I don't feel like I need to remove it every 30min or so. I am optimistic we will get there in the next 2-3 years of years.
There are lots of great educational VR experiences available from steam or through side quest. Until about the start of September 2022 I was still enjoying Amaze VR interactive movies on the Oculus Go, theres nothing quite like that, and its a real shame nothing like it exists on the quest.
Yes I have 360 camera and Quest 2 but have no idea how to load and watch my 360 movies. From UA-cam in 360 is very low quality, but single files (clips) also not so interesting... Thank you for nice introduction for beginners like I'm.
There is the Play'a VR video player that is rumored to have adult material available. This can then be coupled up to a BT fleshlight or a Lovesense, to match the VR video when touching goes on, but I have not seen that happen IRL yet. It is not far away technically speaking.
Going to check the link out later. The tech for remote work is here, but the tax laws and government regulations haven't kept up. Most major companies won't hire globally, but just select places.
You can install NordVPN inside the Quest 2 but you need to sideload it. Nord support can send you the right version to install on your Quest. Yes, it works, I've done it already.
damned I live in Paris but I didn't know there was a vr egyptian experience at the institut du monde arabe. Apparently it's over since last week... to bad. I still hope somebody makes a vr mod for the assassin's creed game (while waiting for the real ACvr game) It would be great for historical visit
@@CasandChary just friendly banter, they used to win lots of trophies but now they're not great. Also, I got Baba Yaga and love it!!! Thanks for the recommendation
There are also ... let's call them NSFW experiences in VR/AR and after seeing some posts on Reddit in the last weeks mentioning/showing them I think I finally understand why Meta puts so much emphasis on good color 3D passthrough. Let's be real here it's not the first time that 'adult' content pushed sales for new technologies.

Great video as always. But +1 for that amazing white top. My gf wants to k ow where she can buy it

I love how differently people are able to utilize VR to suit what they need it for. There's just so much versatility.
This is really cool. The future of VR is bright!

I'm so glad to hear! Thanks Champ 💖
You 2 are the best ❤So grateful we got to collaborate with you on this! 🫶
Oh my gosh, you guys are the best company we've worked with so far (especially you DANA). So free, so accommodating. I love Unity and always will

HAHA TRUE! It's nice to invite friends in there or open up a public room. Hopefully people joining will be friendlies lol
PCVR does populate the room a decent amount.

I actually love playing retro 80's games in Bigscreen while sitting in a retro scifi cinema 🙂

10:50 video buildings and monuments to save for the future [my brain explodes!]
Thanks very much
Can you do a video of how you upload your 360 video into the vr. I have a Insta360 too and had no idea you could do this
I just bouight one too. If you save it as a 360° video and upload to youtube and view it from your headset it'll play in 360°

too quick speak in the video.Could you tell the link where to get those APP?

I look forward to the day when you can add VR sex to the list...
Lmao. I can't believe this comment went through :P UA-cam doesn't allow those things T_T

I think I need to VPN somehow to get bigscreen to work. My country doesn't allow the content to show.... How do I do VPN on the headset?
You could try installing a VPN on your router and connect from there

let's face it there arent any actual games to play either. just shitty knock-off mobile games that turn your $1000 vr rig into an indy paperweight.
