    Worse food for breakfast
    1. Refines cereals
    2. Sugary coffee and tea
    3. Oats
    4. pancake
    5. Buttered toast
    6. Fruit juice & premade smoothie
    7. Indian street food ( kachori, samosa , jalebi , etc..).
    Good food for breakfast
    1. Eggs
    2. Moong daal chilla
    3. Ghee coffee and nuts
    4. Whole fruit ( with nuts)
    5. Sourdough bread

    Anyone watching this please also do your own research. Steel cut oats have lower GI load and due to their high fiber content oats can help keep us feeling full for significant time. Overnight oats mixed with nuts, seeds, greek yogurt can be a nutrition dense food that is also good for the gut. If someone wants to further reduce their sugar spike, apple cider vinegar half hour before food has been seen to reduce such spikes significantly. In the end please remember that carbs are not the enemy. We need carbs to feel satiated. If you are planning to have only Nuts followed by whole fruits as breakfast, please check out the impact of oxalates in nuts and the requirement of minimum amount of calcium in your diet. There are research papers on that. Also do remember that a handful of nuts will not have enough fiber to reduce the sugar spike that will occur when you have the whole fruit. Additionally there are also research papers on how the body is impacted when you consume coffee as the first meal of your day. In the end, please focus both on managing your sugar spike and also your gut health.

    I make smoothie from overnight soaked almonds, walnuts, resins, watermelon seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, dates, figs, oats and we add a banana.
    Any modifications required?

    Mam i eat somedays puffed rice with curd(without sugar and salt).... And somedays flattened rice with curd(without any sugar and salt).... With 2 cashew and 2 almonds....

      This is strange! We traditionally recommend poha for stomach ailments or as a light meal. Poha with dahi or made into a simple upma. Also, you have not mentioned idli as a great breakfast. It is certainly nutritious and filling.

    I eat in breakfast:
    100 gram overnight soaked oats with soaked dry fruits and banana with one apple
    1 scoops whey
    1 scoops peanut butter
    Is it good or not?

      Eww.. Bruh why coconut milk. Yuck.. Just drink low fat Cow or Buffalo milk Coffee/Tea. Remove the malai after boiling the milk and you are good. And little sugar is okay. Sugar is bad only in excess. This Fear-mongering needs to stop. There is no black or white in food. No food is bad for you. Only the quantity matters.

    I take breakfast at morning 6 o'clock.. I used to eat Banana,Oats,Kaju, Kismish,Honey,Peanut butter....which is my pre workout meal...Then i went to gym... In my Post workout I eat Eggs,Daal, Lots of fruits!!!!
    My question: Is the Oats that i took in Pre workout meal dangerous...?? Actually it gives a lot of Energy during my Workout so i took

      Hi. Try using rolled or steel cut oats only and soak it in a plant based milk overnight. That makes it healthy to eat and digest.

      You can always delay the breakfast by doing intermittent fasting and then have some of the breakfast options that I’ve shared in the video

      Food for kidney patients should be low in protein, potassium and certain nutrients that the kidneys cannot easily process

    I don't think we will find sourdough bread every where in India. But yeah it's healthy though. I agreed on all of your points except Oats. An early dose of fiber will keep you filled for rest of the day without any hunger pangs especially for active individuals who typically don't have a desk job.

    Please advise if I am doing wrong in having my breakfast & lunch
    I am 75 years old leaving in USA
    I wake up at 5 in the morning chew 3 garlic cloves along with 3 glasses of water & go for a walk for about 1& half hour & make nearly 8500 hundred steps which i follow every day morning After coming back I blend a small piece of ginger, termeric bit of black pepper 1 tbsp lemon juice & 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar with a glass of water & drink it For breakfast I make smoothies ( mixed nuts chia seeds 2 tbsp 2 dates 2 figs fist full of green leaves one avocado one Persimmon/ banana/ or apple with water
    Lunch one egg lean meat lentil soup green salad
    No Dinner
    At 4.30 pm I take 150 gms of peanut
    This is my everyday routine
    Pl advice

    Unprocessed/ steel cut oats are good. If u buy anything processed including oats obviously the glycemic index will be high

      @ I seriously doubt if the GI will have any significant impact because it is soaked overnight even in nut milk. Like u said adding overall healthy fats/protien/fiber rich foods to oats can reduce the GI impact.

    My breakfast is Chana Sattu sarbat.

      If you eat too much of sattu, it might make you feel gassy or bloated because of its high fiber. Eating too much of sattu might result in weight gain, and if you are allergic to chickpeas or gram flour it might be beneficial for you if you stay away from sattu.

    My healthy breakfast with 1.Ragi, moong and urad dal fermented Idli with egg curry/ fish curry or chicken.
    2. Oats omelette with lots of veggies with half Avacado.

    My son is very weak he is 20 years old...he doesn't like to eat anything specially in breakfast...

      It’s very important for kids to have breakfast in the morning and not skip it because they might end up eating junk food later coz of drop in blood sugar levels

    Eggs does not have carbs, carbs are required mam, quantity of carbs will definitely matter 👍

    Dr Rohini ji, if people follow whatever they are advised not to eat certain food then there lives will become hell.
    Pls dont forget one simple logic that life is for us and we are not for life, in short eat and drink in moderation, excersize regularly & forget tedeous advises.
    Pls correct me if i am wrong mam.

    Doctor Riohini good information, can ghee be consumed by people having cholestrol??
    Also Idli-dosa ,Dhokla are healthy options.

      Yes 1 tsp ghee is actually good for people having cholesterol. Also homemade dosa, idlis and dhokla are healthy as as a snack or for lunch
