Beautiful! The right combination. Plenty of tune, choice embellishments which contribute to the listener hearing the lyric not heard, which may be a greater experience than if they were sung.

I absolutely love your use of triplets and "straight" feel to switch up from swing in several of your arrangements (you've done it a bit in each of the three I've heard so far, subscribed and going through the rest very soon haha). Every time, your switch ups get me, and they feel so good! I especially like how you keep true to the melodies in the original piece, but also still make it your own. It's a careful balance you keep very tastefully (I often like to just hint the base piece, then explore it in a very different way - not as complex as you do here haha)
I would really like to get my piano playing up to this level!! I have a lot of trouble just playing the fast / omnidirectional riffs and hitting all the notes in the right hand, while having to constantly change chords in the left hand. And definitely hard to do at the tempo you're doing it at haha!

Your arrangements are great. One question: why is E flat your favourite key? Nothing wrong with it: just wondering.
Just the Way You Are was originally written in D major, but I liked Diana Krall's version in E-flat so chose to do it in that key. I do have a lot of arrangements in E-flat and that is mostly because it is the original key of the pieces I chose to work on (Someone To Watch Over Me, Misty, But Not For Me) or it is an alternative key to the original that is frequently used by performers (Over The Rainbow, Pure Imagination, The Christmas Song, On Green Dolphin Street). I shall be avoiding E-flat for a while now though!
@@rupertaustin Thanks. I’m never sure if keys actually have character or whether we believe they do. For me E-flat is sort of languid and full-bodied yet introspective. It fits a lot of your arrangements.

I really appreciate the fingering suggestions such as b.63 at 2:00 . Maybe consider adding them to over the rainbow too, cos as a relative unskilled pianist here, its terrifying doing fingering.

Hmmm, I think this is quite a tricky one. If you want some easier ones maybe try one of these: Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered, Polka Dots and Moonbeams, Someone To Watch Over Me, Stella By Starlight or On A Clear Day
What happened to the google drive :(? I used to practice a lot of those songs, and when one of these videos popped out again on my recommendations I looked for it and it was gone...

Sorry, but I had to close my google drive sheet music collection a few months ago. Some copyright owners of the original songs had complained to Google. These old songs still have copyright protection, which last 70 years after composer's death. Copyrights apply to new arrangements of the songs too. So I felt I should comply, and easiest way to do that was legitimately publish them at a place which sends the correct cut of the revenue to the copyright owners.

Link is within the description area just under the video. How to view that area depends on your device (PC, ipad, iphone, android phone etc). you might have to click somewhere near video title to expand the description area.
For me, I like the arrangement. Just don't show it to Billy lol! His number one pet peeve with all his songs being played or arranged is actually this particular song where the second chord is a major as you have it instead of a sus which is how he wrote it. The sus is sorta mysterious and the major is like "Hey, welcome to Vegas! How's the kids how's the family", lol sorta thing so That change does in fact really affect it, my opinion! Anyhoo, just saying!
