- After timing chain replacement on this BMW E38 with M62 engine, the car started getting camshaft fault codes. The owner tried replacing the camshaft sensor with OEM one, but still no luck with fixing this error/fault codes.

Is it possible to adjust/correct the timing without removing the upper-timing cover (ie: by only removing the valve-cover)?
I have a misfire on 3-4 I had my timings done around 1000miles ago
All oem bmw parts used I have the same engine as the e38 shown
Flagged up crank sensor changed both changed for oem ones
Could it also be a faulty crank sensor ? Also before I check the timing
Thanks in advance
Great job
Браво!

If fault 21 and 22 are set, Vanos is in failsafe. The good pattern is in failsafe aswell? how would you go about setting up the vehicle to be in failsafe? unplug both camshaft sensors?
by the way, thanks for sharing the scope patterns! Ive done similar on newer cars for valvetronic issues.
Great video.
Where did you get the "known good" example of a camshaft-sensor signal?
thank you
so the car was off time because of the chinese tool kit. specifically the vanos timing tool
because i have the same problem.
so this leads me to my question i’m going to go back and re time should i buy the entire kit from German auto sol. or just the vanos tools
are the rest of chinese tools are good ?
You need only the vanos timing tool, the rest is ok
