      Give the ball to kids that score TDs
      Continue to call successful plays...don't make the DCs job easier..make him figure out how to stop you

      Don't try to install a play you see on Saturday or Sunday without first understanding all of the subtle details that make the play go

      Get all your assistants on the same page. If they’re not, your players won’t be either.

    great info! i like the part about having a goal for each drill/install/day. Question on the 3 day install. Are you saying something like this: day 1: install 1 pass, 1 run, 1 screen etc. day 2: another new pass, run, screen etc....? appreciate the help coach.

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  3 роки тому +2

      Yes sir that’s what I’m saying. You could do 2 passes a day if you’d like

    I’m a junior in high school, but I’m very interested in the idea of calling plays. Not sure whether it would be offense or defense, but I would love to be a play caller in football. How do I start learning about different play concepts, how to call plays, and what makes a successful play?

    • @johnathanmoore4181
      @johnathanmoore4181 Рік тому

      I’m also a junior in high school. But I say just do a bunch of research for rn. Ask the coach at your school. The play you call really depends on the situation and what the defense is going to give you

      Also me. I'm currently in the process in putting together a playbook for fun. Just got done diagramming read option, counter, and two back inside zone against multiple defensive fronts

      I'm currently a 15 year old sophomore and I'm a OC for woodmere so it's an achievable goal! What to do is you memorize all the formations available and even make your own if you can but the thing is, the structure has to work. Every position has to work with all the others or the offence will fall apart. It will be okay. Get your runs ready because it will most likely be your ultimate first play. Again positions working together will be the successful thing to do. If thays what you wanna do, get the connections with your school coaches and start by helping out after school. You'll do great trust!! Getting connections is key!

He began out as a ball boy for the broncos. Try to volunteer anywhere HS, College hell even NFL just try to get into the team and then start gaining knowledge on everything about defense and offense everything on football, watch film start to build relationships with coaches, do anything to help them, do the scrum jobs no one wants to do. Sooo…. Practice the plays so well, that you can call anything, at any time, regardless of the defense, and you’ll be ok? I think there is more to it than that.
