Just bought my ‘21 Sport Glide today. I really dig it. Now the hunt begins on looking for ways/ parts to make it my own.
Love the Sport Glide. It's exactly the little brother to the Street Glide. It definitely should have a 114, a bigger rear fender, LEDs and dual disc brakes. I'd definitely need a slightly bigger shield for longer trips. That said, adding all those things would almost make it a Street Glide and, of course, Harley is trying to keep their fleet diverse. Very nice bike tho. Excellent review. Thanks for being out there.

I’m riding an 09 V star 950T, is the sport glide as big like in leg room terms and width?
@@Simpleharmonica The tank is not quite as wide as the 950 and the SG has forward controls so my legs are more stretched out in a way

Dig mine. Love the ABS but wish it had dual disks on the really nice inverted forks. (Future upgrade) Bike is nimble & handles really well. I did 1.75” Bung King shock extension. No more dragging heals in sharp curves. Love the forward controls over LRS mids & propped riding position. Did Bung King crash bar also. Gustafsson makes 5 windshields for our fairing, another good upgrade. As was the S&S 2-1 pipe. Dig the factory cruise control, USB port, & quick detach fairing & bags to go from light tour to bar hopper in a minute no tools. Would buy the Sport Glide again.
I prefer the short stroke 107 as a foundation. Add “replacement” slugs jugs & heads from the new big bore stage 4 kit for a 4.310 bore by 4.375 stroke 128. SE Extreme heavy breather, 64mm TB & intake, S&S 590 cam & support parts with PV tune should make 150 HP at the wheel. Eat Indians & shock crotch rockets. Sport Glide is best platform to build my wants.
My suggestions for HD. Dual disks, OFFER A BLACK OUT PKG with your Street Slammer T bars, offer a better windshield, put handles on the quick release bags so they can be used as luggage on bike trips. Bag liners suck. Innovate others will imitate.
Got mine today. Love the versatility of this bike.

My favorite pre M8 bike was the Fatboy S but as far as the M8 Softails go the Sportglide is it... I also prefer the foot pegs over the boards on the bike...
Love my sport glide. Very versatile bike. The short rear fender looks sweet when the bags are off the bike; gives it a more sporty look.
I absolutely love the sport glide. But I've never riden a motorcycle, only dirtbikes. And I'm looking to get my motorcycle license. In your opinion would it be okay to start on the sport glide? Or should I get a smaller cheaper bike to start with?
@@Texas12valve depends on your overall experience with a bike. I you have lots of experience on a more powerful dirt bike, go for it, The Sport Glide is very well balanced and so the weight is not noticeable, The power is when you need it, but does not rocket off the line. The problem with starting smaller is that in no time you want more power and more versatility which happened to me. So I ended up taking a beating on my first bike when I traded it in to get the Sport Glide.
@@impoppa9647 I can definitely see that happening. I've been riding dirtbikes since I was 5 and I'm now 21. I'll probably end up going straight to the sport glide and getting some drop bars for it just incase so I don't mess up a beautiful bike.
@@Texas12valve Yep, I installed the crash guards in the front and recently installed the read crash guards from Road Styler.

I freaking love my 2020 Sport Glide (my first Harley). Very practical, excellent handling, beautiful wheels, cruise control, anti lock brakes, forward controls, great power. You are right the passenger seat is a little hard. Got a 14 in Slip Stream clear windshield and 6” pullback risers. They should launch a Sport Glide S with a 114, dual front discs, analog tach same as the Low Rider S. Love that they painted the bags. Great review!

I totally agree, this bike kind of "popped" this model year, really with only minor changes! I think it's going to generate some sales. HD really needs to offer it with the 114, dual disks, and honestly mid controls too. If they just hit all the marks, it would really be a winner. People would honestly pay the upcharge in MSRP. I actually think HD is afraid of eating into Low Rider S sales with this bike, that's why it isn't equipped with such features. But it's nothing you can't do yourself, leaving you with a really unique bike.
I really like this bike, if I decide to move up from my Sportster this is on my list. I do think it’s way overpriced. I wouldn’t change much, probably a taller windscreen, air cleaner & a slip on & I’d be happy & ride it as is as I’m old school & will never dump thousands of $ into another bike, been there before, nice review!
Big fan, no I am fine with the fairing, and I like the chopped back, and the forward's are fine. I don't think I'd make any changes, I think it's a great combination of componentry.

I have the 2020 FLSB. It's a great bike. The seats are comfy two up on long runs. I only put the 5.5" screen a Sissy Bar for extra comfort. Still considering a SE Stage 1 upgrade. No regrets with my purchase.
Man it’s crazy ! I was looking for this bike review on your Channel literally 2 hours before you posted the video . I had the iron 883 few months after you did . Looking to upgrade . Still not sure which way I want to go . I love the low rider s . But the street glide and the sport glide look pretty good
This week i go to a testride and mayby trade in my RK CVO! I would ad, higher screen, led turnsgnals and a black moustache bar.
I agree with you about mids, there's nothing "sport" about forward controls. I love the little fairing a lot, especially since it's a miniature batwing. I hate the wheels. Just plain cast wheels would have been fine on it.
I'd add a B&A forge sissybar and T-bars for sure.

Let us all hope HD comes with a Sport Glide S.... 114 engine and a bigger fairing (FXRT style).. here in Europe this bike has sold pretty good and before the Lowrider S came out it was on my wishlist.

I like it. Love the tank graphic. Dual disk front breaks and a M8 114 could make a big difference on the sales floor. Sometimes the perception of more performance is enough.
I have the 2018, I wish it was discontinued so I don't see everyone with one haha I'm stupid jealous of the matching bags though. Looks so dope!!! Ride safe!

I have the 2018 sportglide with a stage 2 and I will take on a 114 any day be safe
I have a ‘21 model white pearl. Tried a Memphis shades El Paso sport shield for long distances. Went back to the standard faring as the head buffeting drove me nuts with the Memphis shades. The standard faring is much better, defects wind off the chest and gives clean air at head height. 107 is absolutely enough. The single disc is enough. The bike is absolutely cool and looks great bags on or off. Only comment I’d agree with is led turn signals….but that’s an easy change out and I haven’t bothered as yet. It handles well and is a sublime cruiser.

I agree, I replaced my controls, pegs, grips, levers, mirrors, derby cover and shift linkage. All the HD defiance line or chrome.
Great video bro! I have the 18 Sport Glide and I love the torque and it is very comfortable. Once I got the Saddlemen explorer seat, Rogue Rider Industries LED turn signals and the mustache engine guard I can ride comfortably for days. The 3 things I wish they did change were dual disk front breaks, a better fairing (I think the FXR fairing would add way to much for the cost, I'd stick with the Memphis Shades Road Warrior), and the 114. But once again I'm pretty sure all of these 3 things weren't added because of to high cost. Ride safe out there brother 🤙🏻
There's something commuterish about this bike. Looks better than last years with the painted bags and tank graphics.
I use mine to commute 365. Still looks great.
The new Low Rider st is what the Sport Glide should have been. I had a 2018 and sold it to a friend. I now have the Low Rider st and love it.
It doesn't have a full fender so it can look rad when you take the bags off duh
You know everyone talks about Harley's not having L.E.D turn signals but if you think about it how many gas stations or part stores around the nation carry the led lights. Yes they do last longer but they do go out and have problems and also not everyone wants to buy led lights just happy with regular bulbs. And anyway no matter how Harley builds the bike someone will not be happy idk it's a common thing happy trails

Three things I wish it had (full disclosure: I own a 2020 Sport Glide)
1) LED front turn signals (though I bet the chip shortage impacted that decision)
2) Ditch the stripe on the tank graphic
3) A ride command screen similar to the new Indians have, ideally mounted where the fork clamp is in addition to the current speedometer. Something that could be switched between a tach, a waypoint direction indicating navigation, and a map navigation. The option to display anything the digital part of the existing speedo can display would be nice.
That last may offend purists, but notice how many riders mount phones to their handlebars for navigation. The bike is a mini bagger and would benefit from that.

There are many after market windscreens available. I own the 2020 in scorched orange.
Aftermarket for windshields is very diverse. Harley would just charge you an arm and a leg for options.
Great video! Sport Glide 2020 was the first Harley I rode and it was great! Convinced me to get my first Harley! Ended up getting a Fat Bob 114 but this bike is so smooth and highly recommended!
Love my 2018! Vivid black,added 12"t bars,5"windshield,arlen ness breather, freedom racing slip on and a set of mustache Highway bars ,plus a bunch of smaller things,alot of the changes I made were what you mentioned in the video,oh yeah I did add smoked LED turn signals too😎

LED turn signals and rear tail lights are sold on the Harley website in the NEW ARRIVALS section. For $109.99 the are exactly like the RRI leds. RRI has a lifetime warranty and harleys is only 1 year.

Hi, I think you raised some really interesting comments, probably the most important being that taste is subjective. I like the fairing, the chopped rear mudguard but I’m not that crazy about the wheels. I think dual discs would only be needed if it had a 114 engine. Wind management is a real problem because it’s so dependent on the riders size. I’d rather have wind deflected into my chest rather than buffeting my head. What do you think of the tank graphics which appear to be totally new without any nod to Harley’s past?
If it is a "Sport" glide, why can't it have the ground clearance of the Low Rider? Wouldn't that help if you feel in a sporty mood and therefore lean it more on the curves? For the same reason, you'd need mid-controls as well for better...control, for spirited riding.

I wouldn't call a 1,750 cc, 700 POUND 80 horsepower bike a BEAST.

Some things I would like are the back header pipe shorter so it gives the exhaust more clearance,the front mudguard longer at the back to give the oil cooler. And the rectifier some protection from stones mud water and damage.🔧🛠🤘🤘🤘
Take off the Fairing and you have a Softail Low Rider with bags! Also 2>1, and since they aren’t making it anymore, it’s intriguing 🤔
I have a Lowrider S 131 and I really like it but I really hate it for anything other than short rides around town or bragging rights at bike nights. I am seriously thinking about buying a sport guide for all the things that I'm not comfortable doing on the Lowrider S

Personally I think the Mantis wheels look good. Helluva easier to clean than spokes.

The wheels. Not a big fan of the wheels. I’d put a bit better wind protection, stage 3 it and call it a day.

The bike looks so much more sporty the paint LED indicators would be nice 👍 but I think Harley only looks for ways to get you to spend more cash 💰
This and The Lowrider S are my favorites. I was hoping they would unvial a Sportster replacement. I guess we will see if they have one.
Liking the paint matched bags.. powder coat those wheels and they should have a full batwing in the accessory catalog. Add bars to taste
Dude !!!, Everything you suggest makes it NOT a Sportglide. I have a 19' and everything you recommend just turns it into all the other H-D's that noboby is buying. Excuse the hell out of me !!!! A few mods, yes,but retro to a Heritage, No !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The other things he forgot to mention is its got a lighter frame then the 2020 and thy moved the rear suspension more away from the trans
Three things... One, muffler shield needs to match SOMETHING else on the bike. Make it chrome, make if flat black. But it just looks like a tacked on afterthought as it is. Two, I agree with you on the turn signals. Nothing should come with incandescent bulbs these days. And three, it really, really, more than anything else, this bike HAS to have me on the seat! :-) I've been ogling the Sport Glide since it came out. The matching bags are a huge improvement to what was already my perfect bike.
what do you think of this bike for a 5'5" rider? with those forward controls?
@2 Slow Moto Did get the Sport Glide. I also did put a reach seat on it. While I may eventually get some better padding on this seat, the position is perfect and I am flat footed. Very cool. I should say I tested both the Low Rider S and the Sport glide of course. Low rider was great, but I felt more like I was sitting on top and leaning vs. settling right into the Sport Glide. I have no reason to change anything really. On the Low Rider I was surely going to need to extend the bars.
Would be great if they offer 114 for this. Now Street Bob has it even. Otherwise change exhaust and not much else. Think it is almost perfect. 😎

Not a big fan of the mantis wheels. As an urban Philly rider and my smaller size I prefer mid controls. Doesn't look easy to change on this bike. With that size tank and also the extra weight of the bags should come standard with 114

I was looking at one at the dealer today I agree with you they missed the mark a little, I dont get doing inverted fork and not dual disks. Great review imho
Agree the matching paint lifts the bike a notch or 2, but, still no enhancement to the useless wind screen, no improvement in ground clearance (both these issues were mentioned by critical reviewers when the bike was released in 2018) and still, no twin discs up front - with loaded up saddlebags, plus a carry rack and truck bag, plus a passenger - the weight of the bike is significantly increased resulting in compromised braking performance. If HD made these improvements, this thing will be a seller. If you want a real 'sports/tourer/cruiser', then put some sport in the bike by giving it good braking and handling capabilities and also decent wind protection as standard.
You should just buy a truck.

Almost bought one, but the Fat Bob S won out. Bags are cool. Fairing is meh, cruise is meh. Fat Bob S does it all, booking it solo, touring 2up, itll do anything.
The lack of full fender is a performance bagger thing. With this being the sport glide kinda a hybrid between softail or the sporty line up and a bagger I guess they wanted that same thing they do with performance baggers

I rode one this weekend. Awesome bike, love the quick conversion with the bags. Did NOT like the 107. Can’t put my finger on it. Last bike I had before getting a different brand was a Fatboy with the 103. I knew people didn’t like that engine. Is the 114 an option on this bike and is it any better than the 107?. Never mind, you just answered that as a no.

How much would it be with the 114ci thoand the dual discs? The Low Rider S is almost same money with the 114ci and the dual disc brakes; but doesnt come with cruise control, passenger seat, "special" exhaust design or THE BAGS (which are awfully expensive). So, different deals for different people i guess.
What is your GoPro setup and what do you use for the wind?
Your opinion doesn't matter.. it doesn't have duel front brakes because the engineer Dept doesn't want the front rim covered up because it's stripped down light.. it's a sport edition. Hince the bobbed back fender, and the small ferring which makes it a sport package and not a big full dressed bagger....as for the front fork shocks not being black . If you knew how shocks work they need to be chrome or polished stainless in order the seal in the dampening fluid's to work and not leak........ Gave it a thumbs down review... Dont make a cool designed sport package option in your opinion to be what it wasn't intended to be... If you want it to be a big fearing bike with full fender's with inverted shocks that hide behind the fearing go buy that bike and quit criticizing this bike....
