That turned out AWESOME!!! It's fun to watch a master at work! Ryan, you did an amazing job as always in narration. I was surprised that you could do the epoxy in cold weather. I thought in your previous video's that you had to make sure the temperature was warm enough for the epoxy. Perhaps that was a different type of Total Boat epoxy or maybe I'm just dreaming that! I'd love to try working with epoxy but it's so expensive and seems like so much can go wrong. You did a super job!
Thanks Lori! Epoxy is definitely a challenge, but it's a lot of fun too. The temperature in the room you're working in is the biggest thing to consider. We had the heater on full blast in there. And we're using a different brand. It's called Super Gloss epoxy, and it has WAY less bubbles than total boat. I don't think we've had any issues with it at all.
Question, does it make any difference if you use a regular paint brush or a sponge brush when spreading the total boat over the wood, as far as less bubbles in it?
It has more to do with how you spread the resin. If you move fast and kind of erratic, it'll create more bubbles. Think of it like soapy water. The slower and smoother you move, the less bubbles you'll get/
Really nice!
Thanks buddy!
