Thankyou. Fixing a TV has kept me amused for a bit during our lockdown. It was the third diode for me …. just my luck to cut both the working ones before I found the broken one.

Got my Toshiba TV working again just by snipping one diode, and luckily I picked the dud one first time. Thanks for posting this, I would never have found the fault.

Thank you, really helpful video - my Toshiba TV suddenly stopped working, and it was just one of these diodes that had failed (mine was the third one of the three that had failed).
Using it with two for now, but have some new ones on the way

many thanks - same issue ( no power) on a Toshiba 22inch screen with the same PSU board.. mine was the left diode that was shorted. thankyou again :)

Thank you very much there must be an issue with this tv as I have the same one with the same problem and I took out the middle diode out after watching this video and it 100% worked will it be ok without heat sink in till I get new diode

I have a question. I notice green led lights on the (tv, laptop etc) circuit boards that are light up when it is powered on and usually when there is fault. Are these led lights soldered to the boards for trouble shooting/diagnostics?? I can't see anything online.

Feed the diod with low voltage, shortage dioad will heat up immediately ,not need playing jackpots game and miss cut good dioad.

please your i need help! On philips tv, it can't turn on, it is dead. it is not lit.I measured the power supply, it has ... 3.5v, 12v, 24v, and 14v end -14v .. in the scheme it should be -12 and + 12..Is it a power or board problem?hope to get an answer. thanks

I have a similar problem with a Toshiba 40L1333DB with a Vestel 17IPS20 power board. I have checked everything i could but still nothing. It does a rattling noise when plugged in, like a ongoing short circuit . Please help me ! Thank you

thanks. On the diodes from the video? Shorted its 0, any other values has differing meaning

Hi Sorin, I am repairing my own philips led tv, the power supply dc side was shorted and I found out that one of Schottky Rectifier Diode was shorted. My problem now, I can't find same exact value of Schottky Rectifier Diode. Here's the SR5100L, My question now, can i replace Schottky Rectifier Diode with this one (SR5100), this diode available at ebay.com, thanks

Hi, my Panasonic CRT TV turns on for one second and goes back to stand by mode with red LED blinking 3 flashes code. Panasonic code list say that it is problem on A board with 3,3V. I have measured voltages on A board and on two power supply chips for 3,3V I have measured 3,4V to 3,6V. Could this be a reason for turning TV after one second in safety stand by mode?
