Kevin, you need another video on nutrient care for your larger plants. How do you clean them, inspect them and amount of water they need etc.
So the albo as in all variegated monstera, they turn either all green or "half moon" all white, because of where the new groth pushes for on the stem. If you have lots of white stripes where it begins to push it out, you will get that beautiful mix of color, if you have only one stripe, all green!
This guy is convincing me to transfer all my philodendrons into Leca. Just put my first into Leca as an experiment: the philodendron fuzzy petiole. It’s also on a moss pole, so hopefully im giving it the perfect conditions to get big fast! Although I dont have all the fancy nutrients you do. Just liquidirt, so we’ll see!!

Im also making a comparison of Leca and existing media: rice husk. Leca price is 20 times pricier, but the result is, rice husk media makes new leaves grow, and much faster growth. So im kind of surfing now to uderstand why people is using Leca.

Hi Kevin! I‘ve been hearing that the variegation on the monstera depends on where the growth point forms on the stem/node. When it forms on purely green part, the leaf will be green etc. Maybe check where the newest leaves emerged to check if it‘s true for you. As long as there is noticable white in the stem though, you should be good and aren‘t loosing the variegation
question, when you air layer the roots with moss, does this make the plant push out ore stalks or more leaves?

The soil roots rotted when I put my plants in leca. Is that normal?
Omg thank you for sharing! I literally just put my monstera Albo in Lecca because she didn’t do anything for a year!!! I grew her from a node in sphagnum and perlite combo. She put out two leaves and then nothing for a year. Literally the first month in lecca she put out a bigger leaf!! Woohooo! My only concern is the root system isn’t great. So I stunted her growth that whole year 😭 I hope her roots take off like yours!! What should I give her to make her happy? I’m giving her 20-20-20 and some fish&seaweed fertilizer maybe once a month or so.
That tripple 20 is too strong in my opinion. You can start with something much lower.
