Love Hoyas but it’s true, took me awhile to get on the Hoya train. Still have people who say they don’t like them, right in front of them! Lol. I think mine need more nutrients because Kevin’s looks soo healthy and mine look dull, yet the blooms have been awesome
Thank you for always being so open and sharing everything you do to keep your plants thriving! I’m not sure if you have done this already in another video but could you explain why you chose to add certain things into your nutrient solutions like the calmag, rapidstart, diamond nectar, hudroguard? What exactly are the benefits to adding these in and what kind of changes you’ve seen before and after adding them to your solution? Thank you!!
I was really considering leca for my Thai coconstellation, but with kids and a house to run and I see how much more simple it is to leave my stuff in soil 😂 your a scientist, this is awesome
Ever since I started watching your videos, I've always been looking forward to hearing a leca drop somewhere on the floor 😂 ...and everytime it does, it cracks me up ✌️🤣 Kidding aside, thank you for always sharing your experience with us, Kevin! I always enjoy and learn a lot from your videos. 😁👍👍
Future Kevin had me 😂. I love your mixture of different plants. I thought all strawberry shakes were hideous with their sick baby poop colored leaves, but you have been changing my mind with your gorgeous ones!
Loved the breakdown on your nutrient solution! Thank you. I'm curious: Do you use any of these same components when you water plants in your aroid mix?
that thai con is a stunner, a true beast!!! i recently got mine with 2 leafes and one about to unfurl and i cant wait til it gets biggerrrrr! I love these plant chore videos, very relaxing (to me lol)
For everyone wondering : no you cant use CalMag with soft water version because soft water has a lot of CalMag already. And if you have hard water, DO NOT USE SOFTWATER at all :) Even hard water version is not supposed to be used with CalMag. Kevin should really check his water quality report and if there is more than 60mg of calcium, stop using additional calmag, you are just locking out magnesium and other nutrients like potassium.
Love this video! Thank you for teaching us about cutting the roots and feeling ok with a smushy root here and there ! Just had that problem today and you reassured me it was fine !
Hello from Calgary. Love your videos! I have 95% of my plants in pon and leca as well. I am curious to know if you have noticed a difference in growth ever since you have doubled the nutrient solution concentration. I was considering doing that this summer but was nervous about burning the roots. My plants seem happy with the lower concentration. I also have a massive Thai with 30 inch leaves.
Heyyy ☺️ I haven't gone back down to the lighter concentration so it's hard to tell. I always say that if your plants are happy and they're still growing well, then why change. I think I might end up doing the lighter solution over the winter 🥶 I definitely think there's a chance I'm overdoing it 😅💚
Awesome content! I like Hoya plants and particularly like how you curl them around. I need to get some of the extra nutrients. The results over here have been consistently good, but I am ready to make them great!😊
Hi Kevin, I couldn’t find any links for the net pots that you use for the 3gal and 5 gal buckets you have your larger monsteras in. Would love to know where you got them, thanks!
Great video Kevin, thanks for sharing 👍! I k ow you said you don't do ppm, but have you ever used ppm meter? Also can't wait to see you do more orchid growing!
You mentioned reservoir water should not be too hot…I am thinking about using a heat mat in upcoming months. Soil keeps roots warmer than in leca which is why I am considering. Do you think heat mat will be ok? It’s not burning hot just slightly warm.
Dang man that shirt is a good cut on you. I like how it frames your neck and shoulders. Also glad you're putting out this nutrient solution guide I've been interested in your specific mixes because of your specimen quality
Hi:) please do note that tea spoons comes in different sizes, i have 2 ml ones for example, and they are like standard here in my country. I dont see 5 ml very often .
AHA! GOTCHA!! You’re calculating your dosage on 5 liters. But a gallon is just under 4 liters. So you are giving your plants about 20% more nutrients than the instructions say. And hence 20% more than I am. That explains a lot!!
@@stephenw.6588 I suck at math, so I just role played with my hubby. Technically, Kevin’s solution would then be 20% weaker than mine, assuming that the instructions ate for US gallons and a teaspoon is actually 2 ml. I’m confused. The European bottle says 1 ml per liter for micro, 1.5 for bloom, 0.5 for flora, 2 ml for CalMag and 3 ml for Diamond Nectar.
I don't know who told you that we don't like Hoyas, but they lied. 😂 I love Hoyas, they're my favorite genus!
Oh yay!! I think my biggest supporters are Hoya fanatics 🤩💚
I enjoy the flowers, but the Hoyas really don’t do anything for me. Hint the fact that I don’t any in my collection LOL

You have been so helpful understanding leca and nutrients. And you're adorable!
I love hoyas, so please continue to include them in your content. Gives me inspiration 😃 You are such a cutie, Thanks for sharing your plant chores
What fertilizer do you use for your plants that are in Soil?

Oh I'm glad Sherry ☺️
Thank you Kevin.. This was so informative!
May i ask.. Do you use a diluted version of this for the soil plants?
Long time watcher, first time commenter….WE LOVE HOYA. 😳😅
I love Hoyas also. Would like more education on Hoyas. You are enjoyed so much.Diania from Alabama.

Kevin!! Show us all the Hoya 🤣 who doesn’t love Hoya?? Loved this video and your more frequent content 🎉🎉
Aw yay thanks! 💚🤩
You can only do this for leca hence hydroponics? You can't use this for regular aroid mix?
I love Hoyas
Nice sharing 👍
This might be a stupid question but can this solution also be used for the plants that are in soil media?
It suddenly makes so much sense why your plants grow so fucking fast 😳
Haha 😆
This video was so so helpful to me! I needed this :) I hope you do more
Would you use this for orchids too???

I thought I didn't like hoya, because it is so invasive when it grows crazy haha..I have bought one and now I have 8. More maybe......

He’s Canadian. Likely calculated based on Imperial gallon (4.54 litres) 😊
@@stephenw.6588 Okay. But does the manufacturer do that, too? In Europe the manufacturer uses liters, obviously.
