That's such an awesome boat. I used to crew on one - so capable, powerful under sail, and easy to trailer/set up. I'm trying to set this one up to be so user-friendly as a MKII :) Hit me up with any questions you run into. I've been f-boating for almost 30 years now.
Nice job! Excellent attention to detail and high quality end result. Smart to not follow the curves. SO much brain damage to make that look good, and not really necessary.
Great job with the kiwi grip Greg. I see people do such a sloppy job with it but you really showed how to do it with finesse 👍 Could you have put the grommets further in to get better tension where it’s too big? Cheers Warren
Yes, but i didn't know about the misfit when punching the grommets. Didn't really show up in zip-tie mode. The net is fine & fully functional; it's just one little finish item that will drive people like Keith and me a bit nuts :)
The only significant problem w the colligo shroud system is the direction you pull (down) to tighten the shrouds to out the knot in the grove. Reverse it so you pull up and you have a perfect system.
What a transformation! She looks factory new with that nonskid. Does dyneema fray at its ends? Do you burn the ends? Is there enough friction for the half hitches to lock long term? Thanks for showing up close shots of the grommet installation and lashing work.
Thank you, and yes I’m enjoying seeing the finish in our backyard, vs the complete mess when I picked the boat up originally. Yes the knots around the lashings hold themselves tightly. I haven’t trimmed the excess yet as I still need to fold the boat once to check all the net fitting. So the lashings are still long. I will tie little overhand knots then cut with hot knife to finish. That will avoid fraying. I still owe you guys a video of making the bow nets from dyneema fishing net stock.
The Rudder cassette's trailing edge where designed to split from the get go. ( Purposefully weak secondary bond😉) Use a Vise grip pliers to close it back after impact and re-bond at home was the idea😅 Would that F25c have been Lyman White's boat by any chance?
@@LG-ct8tw hey, thx for history! I drilled five holes and stuck in plastic 1/4” bolts. They (plus spares) weigh less than vice grips ;). Because of the purple paint we thought it was Lyman’s boat. But as I got in deep finding many assembly problems I realized there’s no way. She is hull 15, originally delivered to FL. Sailed there for about 4 years then trucked to San Francisco where she has never been in the water since! She’ll get launched finally next week. Very excited
Terrific work. Looks great.
that looks awesome !!!
Looking good mate! Nothing like a bit of dog hair in the paint for some extra non-skid😂
Great info thank you. Just bought a F24 MKII. Still learning and building confidence.

Thank you. We are launching June 21st and I'm sure I'll have some questions.
Wow really great informative video. Doing such a nice job! Thanks for this!
and i'm looking forward to bringing this one south to sail with you guys. Rally to Catalina, eh?

fancy to see the synthetic rigging and this colligo system set up

Yes, we like it also! 😊 Also i love seeing your dog playing in back ground. Very nice. So you referb Corsair's also? Super cool.
Miss Ruby just had a GREAT time playing on Ravenswing in Mexico :) Happy to rehab corsairs, but those are pretty hard to find for free!
Omg yes, I've always loved them, but the affordability wasn't for me.
Yeah, shiny paint, no bugs or dust and now scuff it up. Doesn't seem right but nice work.
