Nice job on the standing rigging. What did you end up using on the diamond wire? Do people change those to dyneema or keep with stainless?

Yes, Colligo has a system for Dux diamonds. He’s solved the creep issue with some load-setting process. For me, the existing wire diamonds were in great shape and very much light enough for my taste. It was kind of a no brainer, knowing I’ve cut out a lot of other metal weight throughout the rebuild. I think I got a Transpac ride next year - this time I’ll make sure there’s time to visit Delta Vee once on the island!

Great F25c rebuild videos! Looks like it will be a great boat. Is that supposed to be Brummel splice at the bottom of the sidestay? I ask because the Colligo fitting is in the eye and I have never seen a Brummel splice done without inverting the eye when one end is not free.

Can you explain more about inverting the eye? I do the 8 lock stitches on that second eye (that isn’t free). What exactly gets inverted the way you’ve seen it? Thx

This is how the Colligo guys do a locking Brummel when only one end is free. The “inversion” I was referring to is shown at 6:00 min in the video. ua-cam.com/video/IxSi8igfChk/v-deo.htmlsi=zQUBVk2UvTQQhpwr

Your definitely a craftsman and you've made an excellent boat into a beautiful showcase! Is she yours as a near home fun boat? Or is she being upgraded for an appreciative new owner.

I’m taking time to do this work in a very personalized manner. For a long time I’ve thought the lightweight 25C would be a good senior-sailor boat; I hope to share sailing her with my adult kids but it might be a long time til they inherit it ;)

Ok here is the first question x 3, The F-24 I now own has already been rigged with Dyneema. How long should Dyneema keep its working strength? And i cant find a good resource for how all the running rigging should be rigged!! How to rig Screacher furler and How to control the swing mast? Any info is greatly appreciated and Thank you.

Hi Brad. Durability of your rigging is very dependent on the actual rope/cordage they used, did they do a quality splicing job, and how much UV sunshine has it seen? Ten years is the current rule of thumb. Running rigging controls should have come out of Corsair quite standardized, but people modify stuff over the years. Your best bet is to visit a boat that is currently racing. If none around, post pictures on the Fboat forum and we can talk you through it. If you're really jammed up and want some 1x1 time, I could do a FaceTime call while you're on the unfolded boat. What's your specific screecher question? Mast rotation should be a set of two little blocks on a bar coming off the mast, and the lines run back to cockpit. Anything like that evident?

The mast rotator in the F-24 is often rigged with the rotation arm at the base of the mast connected to the boom with a block and tackle. It’s really more of a rotation limiter in that the mast wants to rotate itself and this keeps it from going too far! Do you have a continuous line furler for your screacher?

@@Ravenswingsailing That would be great. I'm hoping to raise the mast in the next few weeks in the driveway. When that happens would be best for communication. I don't have a Apple phone. What about WhatsApp?

@@SailingTipsCa Thank you that makes sense, more of a Limiter. As for the Furler I will get back to you. Your Tips for Trimarans are greatly appreciated. The mast raising video gave me some good ideas.

@@bradwhite3894happy to do a WhatsApp. My availability will be tricky after Monday, as I’m going to my boat in Mexico for a couple weeks. I use WhatsApp down there but only when we’re in a decent cell spot or near a marina WiFi. Look me up as RavenswingGreg and we can connect.
