If you want to see Ms.Backpacking 13:40 mark 😁😁. I’ll be back. No broken ankle is keeping me from the outdoors Thanks for the prayers and kind words from everyone. Much love to you all
Me and my buddies have been doing that section of river for years. It’s so beautiful and a lot of times it’s my favorite trip of the year. Have a great weekend Ken
Oh heck no on the river running for me. I'll take my chances with a broken ankle on land. My water phobia governs my adventures! LOL. Sorry you got injured. Looks definitely like a break. Good thing you had some ice. Hope you heal up quick! I shattered my wrist once while backpacking. No fun but a leg or foot would be worse for sure. Never see a paddle tent before. Nice adaptation. Hook in the hand and sinking boats. This trip was plagued! LOL. Glad you all survived. Great memories and a trip to remember. Have a great day.
My buddies love there sit on top. I’m a big fan of my Old Town Loon. I hope you do this route one day with your friends or with me and mine. I think you’d have a blast on this river. Lots of fun!! Have a great day my friend
Dang, dude! I could see that it was broken, soon as you showed your foot! That Hiking Guy was real nice to send you that sticker. That's cool. You should've had one of those horses ride you outta there. They would've felt like cowboys, riding you out to safety. 😊 of course, then you wouldn't have the memories of kayaking. Oh, 😬🤢 I can't handle people being hooked and pulling it out. Nope. 🤢 You sank. Goodness. Glad your gear stayed dry! Is that Mrs. BW Jason? Nice bonnet! 😄 I hope you're healing up good, buddy. That must've hurt like hell. Great video! 😁💚👊
That was Ms.Backpacking 😊. She has helped me so much during this. She’s the best. It was definitely a trip I’ll never forget. I thought about the horses helping me out but I thought it would be easier to paddle out than horseback 😁. Have a great day my friend
OK... That was one badass video... Sorry about the ankle... Both of my injuries, knee and shoulder... happened while kayaking... What a fun, awesome crazy adventure. You rocked that trip even with the injury... Heal up fast brother... I can hear the trail calling you. Peace
Thank you. I try and do this section of the river every year. Sometimes it’s my favorite trip of the year. Beautiful and fun area for kayaking. Have a great weekend and I can hear the trail calling my name too 😁
Oh my…… oh, oh my. I don’t know if the ankle or the fish hook hurt me worse!!! Good thing y’all went as a group, that’s for sure. Hopefully the ankle is healing nicely. Thanks for reminding us about the dangerous things that can happen out there.
My buddies helped me out a lot. My friend Scott had the hook in his hand. He pulled that hook out like a champ. Anything can happen in the woods, but I’m really glad my friends were with me. Have a great day Chris 👊🏻
Dang! That must have hurt. Ouch. Glad you got out okay. Those rapids were awesome. Sorry you had to have surgery. Hope the recovery goes well. Great video Jason.
Wow! That has to hurt. Im praying for your quick recovery’s. better. Take it easy and heal up. Aside from that it looks like you guys had a great time!
Thank you and I’ll definitely take the prayers. We do this trip a couple of times a year. Usually with better water levels. Awesome a great time with incredible scenery
Love it. “That’s how Kentuckians do it “ Pretty wild trip and definitely one that I’ll never forget. I still can’t believe I broke it and had to have surgery. Lol
Crazy how an outdoor trip can take a turn real quick. Glad you are OK. Friends are the best. I flipped a 4-wheeler in West Viginia a couple years ago and broke 7 ribs and my left scapula. Thank goodness for my friends. They got me out of the backcountry and to the hospital. I always take a buddy when I go far out! Get better soon!
Thank you. I’m healing up pretty good. You are so right about having friends with you. My buddies helped me out a lot. Sounds like you had a pretty bad accident too. Broken ribs hurt so bad. Have a good evening my friend
Jason you are on tough SOB! How quickly an adventure can change but thank goodness for your buddies. Beautiful area and looked like fun though even with that spill at the end. I always pinch the barbs on my hooks to make it easier to remove if the situation occurs. I wish you a speedy recovery Brother!
Thank you my friend. Even though I got hurt I still had a blast on the river. I have so many great memories on that river and I can’t wait to get back out there again. That’s a great idea to pinch the barbs on the hooks. It was definitely a wild weekend on the River 😁
I’ve ran that section of BSF a dozen times over the years in a canoe. Incomparable scenery and great fishing! I absolutely feel bad for you Jason. You handled it amazingly well. You’ll get well soon I hope. You take care and get back out there soon.
Thank you. We try and do this River a couple of times a year. Sometimes it’s my favorite trip of the year. Thank you again and I hope to see you in the BSF one day
Thank you. I’m doing better each day. I couldn’t believe I broke my ankle. I just thought it was sprained really bad. Still was a fun trip with my buddies.
Dang 13:07 that sucks about the ankle. Good thing you were not alone. When I sprained my ankle bad, it took six months to heal Not able to hike during that time. Maybe hopefully you will fare better than I did.
I hope you have been recovering well. It ca be very hard telling the difference between a sprained ankle and a fracture. Regardless your field first aid was spot on. I would’ve continued a kayak trip as well 😂 Great friends you have! I would’ve done the same! Ruby would have been your assistant as well! Get better soon!
Ruby would have definitely helped me out. I thought for sure I just sprained it or tore some ligaments. But I broke it and had to have surgery. Lol. Hardest part of the trip was popping 😂
glad you were able to complete the trip but wow that looks bad. sorry you had to deal with the pain and everything else /ow that hook!// but looks like you made the best of it, beautiful river to paddle on thanks for sharing

That's one of my worst fears when hiking out solo. That's nice to have ice handy lol. Great that everyone helped out.
Thank goodness we had coolers and ice 😁😁
Even with a broken ankle this was a really fun trip. The scenery was so beautiful
What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger! I can't imagine two more days of those rough waters with a broken ankle. That's how Kentuckians do it! 🤘

What was the cfs when you ran it? We are going next week and wondering how low is to low to run this section.

That’s crazy that you had to have surgery. I guess it wouldn’t heal correctly on his own…….
I was pretty shocked that I had to have surgery too. I’m glad the surgery is over and getting myself back to the woods 😁
