    September 2024 Update: This siren's serial number is "T 236," meaning it was the 236th thunderbolt off of the production line. This means that it is a 1953 model. It's still standing somehow!

    I’ve always wanted to see this one in person. Unfortunately the neighborhood it’s located in is supposedly a bad one. It’s also rather disappointing that vandals stole the controls, they probably didn’t even know what exactly they were stealing.

      Bad neighbourhood? My friend, it's lakeside property two blocks from one of the largest event centers in the state lmfaooo

    Great Informational Video Ray keep up the great work maybe you could explain details about the modulator and DSA sirens especially the 2001's in your next video and when they used them and stuff like that!

      Thanks! As much as I would try and do something like that, there really isn't too much to cover. Just the alternate wail usage and a few instances of malfunctioning sirens. I might do it though, I'll think about it

      @@thespiritstingray9359 did you know in 2008 they used alternate wail first activation but than normal wail 2nd
      I find that weird plus I feel like they added a custom fast wail tone at wrigley field because that modulator is located at wrigley a popular landmark in chicago and they wanted that modulator to have a innovation purpose since it's right by that famous landmark. That's my theory tho.

    Did they ever use their old siren system for tornado warnings in the 80’s and 90’s, until they installed their current system?

    • @thespiritstingray9359
      @thespiritstingray9359  2 місяці тому

      @jaymesmerritt5145 I'd imagine they did. I don't know for sure though.

    • @OfficialOpinion
      @OfficialOpinion 14 днів тому

      That would require their old system to work at that point lmaoooo

      @@OfficialOpinion It's a valid question. Not all of the old system sirens were inoperable (but many were). One might wonder if the ones that did work were used for tornadoes at any point. It's not likely but not impossible

      @@1000BT zero. It's most likely a 1953 model. Pictures of the tag show that it's T-X87. The X is a 1 or 2. This one doesn't have the early horn support design either.

      @1000BT not possible either. That one was 1952 but not early enough to hit a double digit serial number.
