I watched your video , and performed the same task that you did . Mines is fixed , no more headaches , or hot Temps. What a relief and it didn't cost me nothing but a little to fix it. Thanks for posting your video .
Thanks for this video. I finally pulled the trigger tonight and took out the FCIM. The button was getting out of control and my refrigerant trick was working less and less. I just took a pair of cuticle clippers to cut the tiny little micro relay (or whatever is was) off the board. I put the now modified FCIM back in and every other button still works. And like you said, there are multiple ways including voice command to set the temp. So glad I won't have to worry about the heat coming on full blast for my upcoming trip to the sauna that is Georgia in July.
Just removed the relay! It looks like we’re in good shape! I’ll test drive it for another day or two, to make sure before I start putting trims and moldings back in. Thank you guys! This is a great solution! We still have a touch screen for our temp regulation.
I have a 2013 MKS, my button was doing the same. No joke, I gave the heat up button a mild punch, and it stopped instantly. The heat+ button no longer works at all anymore, but whatever, I can turn the heat on through the screen. Try it.
So, any progress or new news to share on a fix or replacement or recall? The exact problem just started two days ago on my 2014 MKS. About a month ago the defrost on the panel would not work when first getting into the car but then would work as it should once the car warmed up. Now, the exact heat button issue started while I was in FL last week. For now, a quick "smack" by the button gets it to temporarily stop acting up, but I am sure that I will have to come up with a more permanent fix. I had an extended warranty through Lincoln, but of course that expired just under a year ago dangit.
No progress this fixes so far the best solution better the sckitzo heating in the summer sold this car a few months ago ever since this fix was done the heat never had an issue
@@TwoDollarGararge I actually found a company that repairs the unit, BUT, I actually have been procrastinating on the repair because I found that touching the entire area around the + - my temp area with all 4 fingers stops the problem instantly whenever it happens which is rather seldom now. However those buttons rarely work now so I have to use the touchscreen which is a bit of a pita.
I use the climate screen control. Push the duel button, set it to LO, then hold down on the down arrow while driving. Sometimes it stays down after holding for a while. When I stop the car and then restart in a short while it comes back on correctly with no problem so far anyway. It has 173000 miles and it’s not my car but thinking of buying it anyway with this problem.
So the problem we have is the radio turns off and on by itself. Very annoying. And the heat + button doesn’t work. Any suggestions on what to desolder?
I believe if you go down in the comments there is someone who actually does fix it in New York state but I would just see if someone had the same issue or find a schematic it's old enough that I'm sure one's out there
Has this fix continued to work for you since you unsoldiered the temperature switch and are there any real changes in the climate control operation that were unforseen ?
I know there is a guy.I think he either posted a comment or replied to a comment. But there is a place in new york that fixes these if that's what you want to do
Put me on the recall - accountability - lemon law - list for the MKT Radio/Dual Air Control Panel, heat button defect. This defect creates a dangerous environment for anyone in the automobile while in motion and should be replaced by the manufacturer at no cost to maintain safe travel.
If you read in the comments section there's a company in New York that fixes them or learn how to fix it yourself and make a business model out of it it didn't give us any issues and we sold the car 2 years ago
You posted this video two years ago. I was wondering if this fix is still working? I just pulled the transistor from mine and will install it in a couple days. I'm just hoping it keeps working since getting it in and out is such a pain.
I had the same problem and believe it's a virus. I did a system reset and now it's back to normal. I can't use my remote starter cause the problem reoccurs.
My parents owned this car between 2015 to 2021 it started doing the heat thing in 2018 and yes the remote start feature was always kind of buggy it never really worked after 2020 but it didn't really matter
Replaced out pcv valve and did a tuneup, remote starts been working great since. I highly recommend doing these if you havent already. Noticed a dramatic change in my vehicles overall performance.
You can buy Fcim from the dealer be done with it , if you drive a Lincoln luxury car you expect spend little more on repairs otherwise drive non luxury car you efforts to fix just saying in my opinion.
Not really it's a luxury car that means they depreciate like an anchor when we pick that car up it was 1/8 of the price it was new ended up selling it spring 2021 for 11,000 more than he paid for it with 30,000 additional miles
The panel has been discontinued. Best to fix it or get it fixed. It's really not needed because you can control the climate from the screen. My problem was the power and driver side plus button. I didn't de-solder anything. I just cut through the lead with a razor and problem solved.

It works the car in great ended up selling it a few months ago but yeah the issue never came back not the ideal fix but affects nonetheless
I gave that red+ sign a punch and it stop going up today, thanks for telling us about the problem area 👊
That's what I do when the radio changes stations on its own..I got a 2016 😂 🤦🏿
You guys are so smart. Glad you took the time to resolve and tell us about it.

I would like a slower interior console removal.
Could you provide clarification on which component needs to be de-soldered? It is hard to tell from the video. Thanks!
it's not a recall or lemon law simply because it's not a danger, it's not a lemon law because it doesn't effect drivability .
It doesn't matter at this point the fix worked and the car is gone for well over a year now at a profit I might add

Hey man. You lifted a few seconds of my video. Cool. I may try your fix. Great to see how the guts of the panel look like.
Hey man. I just left your channel to come here. Great job indeed.
Np it was clearly the best example of it cuz every time I turned on a camera it refused to do it
Has this fix continued to work for you since you unsoldiered the temperature switch and are there any real changes in the climate control operation that were unforseen ?
Sold the car a few months ago it never had any issues whatsoever just that individual button did not work
Send to OEM Auto Audio, Inc. in Manlius, NY. They repaired mine promptly and it's been working great for months.
Colin Ruud oh. I get it now. He disabled just the temp control feature on the center console instrument panel.
So you can no longer adjust heat or cool temperature? Maybe I’m missing something but, that doesn’t seem like a fix.
You, can you just have to do it through the touch screen? It's a stupid design that they stopped making and no longer support.
I know there is a guy.I think he either posted a comment or replied to a comment. But there is a place in new york that fixes these if that's what you want to do
@@TwoDollarGararge yes. I know about that place. You send him your unit n he repairs it. My 13 mks base still operates fine.

I have no idea. This car was sold at a profit to someone trying to start a limo company peak used car shortage
3 days in no problem. popped mine off no soldering just pulled mine off the board. no more heat running up so far 3 days in the fix
Yeah we sold the car a few months ago it never had a problem at all after this was filmed so seems like a fix
Wish you only had the disassembly video at normal speed.
thanks very helpful video

What's another way to remove the relay
@letsgetmoney35 there's a shop in NY in the comments that fixes it proper but this works and the car is long gone no longer my problem.

Ford does not make them anymore. At least that's what I read.
Thanks ❤️

Ok tyler hoover
The problem is "the touch sensors" if you replace it with a new the problem will gone👍

What the fuck does it matter your not here for politics your here to figure out how to fix your damn car
