I work in a clinical lab and looking forward to more of the tech side of biology. Getting tired of the bench work everyday. Thank you for the insight!
This is so nice, thank you for making this!
My pleasure! Happy you liked it! 🥺🤍
This is what I needed! Thank u ❤
Editing is great, nice music, great video!! Really enjoyed and informative
Thanks u so much! I am from Ecuador and your video opened my mind about deveral works that I dont felt possible in Biotech
I love the editing! new sub :)
Love the business in the front/party in the back shirt!
It’s so soft too! But kind of hard to find the right undergarments to wear 😂😂
Very much enjoyed your informative video. Thanks!
Happy you found this helpful ❤
glad we get to be apart of your journey :) hope your well! ❤️
Thank u for joining me! Sending you lots of love gigi 🥺🫶🤍
This was super helpful! I currently do PR and social media for a nonprofit hospital, considering getting a certificate in biotechnology and pursuing the commercial side of the biotech industry -- definitely great to hear that the industry is so large and growing! I really like comms but want to get even more specialized and help bring life-saving treatments to market!
That’s awesome! It’s def a blessing to be able to take part in delivering some life saving treatments! Best of luck with your certificate 🎉❤
Hmm life saving and commercial sounds weird in one sentence for me
I got into Biotech with just a high school diploma. My current role is in manufacturing for a major pharmaceutical company.
@@JuanCastillo-df8np how?
So glad I found this video! I'm still in that lost phase right now as well. Especially back in my last year of university, I've always contemplated the pre-med route and ended up not going through with it. On top of graduating in 2020 during the pandemic, things got even more complicated on my future job options. Besides the personal life situations since then, I'm definitely gonna try looking into these career options more and give it a shot. It's definitely nice to know that there's more options besides the typical premed route.
So happy you found this info helpful! I feel theres so much more to a science degree than just medicine (even though thats not always stressed during the education process). Hope you find your path soon 💞
Can I ask you about your current occupation? It's been 4 years since your graduation, what are you doing now?
Love the video... well done!
Thanks for watching ❤
Thank you for this video! I love life sciences and am an intern starting my career biotech :)
Ur videos are all nice. U deserve more. keep posting videos
Aww thank you ❤ really appreciate the support! It really motivates me to make more videos 😊
I graduated in Microbiology and started working for a CRO. CROs notoriously underpay their employees. Employees leave, and the company trains new ones fresh outta college.
So my advice is avoid CROs unless you're just starting. They are okay for learning the ropes in GLP and GMP-abiding labs
Thanks for sharing! 😊
Have any advice about where to work after working at a CRO, or what job to pursue, for a better salary?
Loved this video! I can relate with your beginning message on med school. I work in pharma/biotech now, but I'm on the PV side (about 13 years to date). Would love to collaborate and help share more information about the industry!
Whats PV? I’m fairly new to the industry so I like learning more as I go!
@wingtheory can u pls do a video regarding your job...?
PV ,MAy be animal doctor , im not sure , gyus can i used biotechnology is it good,My aunt told me that you can do biotechnology and im thinking about bs nursing too dont know what to choose.
I love the greys anatomy gifs 😊
thank you!!!!
Excited I get my

What's the most lucrative pathway for career and eventually starting your own business?
Hi. I'm currently a first-year biochemistry student in Germany and this has been very helpful. I have always been passionate about tech and consumer electronics so it is very refreshing to see that I can still be able to work in tech with a bio-related degree. Do you have any other tips for people who are interested in tech and also would like to work in the corporate side of the industry rather than research? Thanks!
I would say learning technical skills has been very helpful for me (CRM, SQL, data analysis). These apply to all industries (not just bio or tech) so it always gives you options if you ever want to pivot!~
Hey ! I am from india and i will be entering first year of college this year. I am so confused whether i should opt for biochemistry or microbiology. What's your experience with biochemistry?
This is crazy cause this is exactly me.
Same hahaha
Thank you so much for this video. I’m 21 and dropped out of med school and have decided to do biotechnology instead. Med school was the most depressing years of my life and I’m so happy I made the decision to leave it.
how how your journey been after dropping out?
If you has join it share it with me how you find biotechnology , im also thinking about it, don't know is it good for me or not or what would be the pay😢
I loved the video! Having you're opinion would be super helpful. I am currently sophomore in college. My dream career would give me the opportunity to travel and work hybrid/remote. Do you think there is a field in biotech that would fulfill that? Thank you again!!
Loved the video!
I'm a highschool student deciding upon majors and this gave a really deep insight, with that said are there any "high pay" jobs in the bioloical industry? It feels as if biology majors don't equate to as much income as engineers and economists.
i think the general rule is you start off more focused on the lab/ “sciencey” part and then as your career develops you move into more of the humanities side where the pay is higher
I would say pay really depends on the role and company vs major. For example, as a bio major you could be a data analyst in tech (which would prob pay just as much if not more than an engineer at a startup). As a generalization thought, working in a lab probably doesnt pay as much as other commercial roles. But that doesnt mean being a bio major cant be lucrative :)
Engineering degree is the best for this industry. Whether you end up in manufacturing, development or Quality side of things an engineering degree will help you a ton. Best of luck! This industry is very rewarding.
Can u please tell me biotechnology is good or microbiology??? Also regarding salary and demand in market?
Wontons looks soooo good 😊
😎✨ thanks for noticing haha very proud of the wontons!
Do you have to go pharmacy school to break into biotech? What did you major in? Does your GPA play an important role? I’m currently a high school senior who’s interested! Thank you.
You dont have to go to pharmacy school unless you want to be a pharmacist! In general, any life or physical science degree should be enough for most roles in the industry! :)
Most biotech company only requiere a high school diploma for a manufacturing role. Depending on the business needs they will hire you without prior experience. Companies like Takeda, Thermofisher are a good place to start your career.
I feel that the biggest issue is that the biotech industry has never been very good at hiring people. A lot of the scientist job are taken by PhDs in the correct field, everyone else would be lab technicians and later lab supervisor. Lab technician jobs are very laborious and don't actually pay well because there are plenty of them.
Depends on the company I know some guys making six figures in a process development team, as a lab tech
What kinds of companies/ businesses do they work, if i may ask? Im a college student currently and im very eadger to be in the biotech field and im pretty good with data:)@JuanCastillo-df8np
@@JuanCastillo-df8np thank you, makes me feel secured
hi, what advice would you give on trying to break into medical writing? i want to major in bio and minor in english, but i worry i’ll need more than undergraduate
I’m not too sure about the medical writing industry other than the fact that’s it’s highly technical and relationship based. I would say start writing now! Perhaps you can help run a blog for a medical club on campus? Anything that helps you gain experience in technical writing ❤
Hi , would you mind sharing how to break into commercial operations as a freeher? Thanks 🥺
I think with no experience there two ways to stand out when applying to commercial operations positions 1. Data analysis (sql, excel, being good with numbers and organizing data) 2. Crm experience (my salesforce certificate helped a lot for me personally but hubspot & Microsoft dynamics also all have their own free certifications!)
Hi, thank you so much for making this video. Do we need a Masters degree before applying to these jobs?
You do not need a masters! But it definitely doesn't hurt! In my personal opinion, experience is the most important thing and that hardest part is landing the first job. Everything else comes easier after!
Hello! Thank you for this video💗, im a high school senior. I am trying to decide if I want to major in biology or biotechnology. I like the health care field, maybe I want to become a physician assistant(Not sure tho) I am not sure what I want to do undergrad though.. any thoughts?
To be honest it probably doesn’t make that big of a difference. For health care any life science major would be okay 😌🙋♀️✨
@@ricezhangg Thank you for responding! 💕so if I do biology, and don’t wanna go into health care these are other jobs?
@@anax6777 yeah u pretty much have a lot of choices other than health care
hey! tysm for the video 💖 im in high school and i want to decide what i want my career to be and biotech is really interesting! any tips from you as to what i can do or learn rn that would help me in the future? thanks
You’re welcome! 😊 I would say try to gather as much internship and research experience as possible! It helps you learn what you like and don’t like as well as sets you apart when job hunting~
@@ricezhangg thank you! 🫶
i am currently doing my under graduation in Biotechnology, what should I do in post graduation?
Can i get a job only after completing phd in biotechnology from a renowend university or do i have to a industry experience ?
How did you break into commercial operations?
so are you we can become a consultant if we study biotechnology
Do you have advice for grad schools for someone with an undergrad in data analytics wanting to transition into bioinformatics/biostatistic/biotech?
I think with a data analytics background, bioinformatics should be right up your alley!! For general biotech degrees, I would personally look for non research heavy programs (minimal lab courses and a program that has a flexible non research dissertation/ final project option). Without a life science background it might be a lot of work jumping straight into biochem and lab courses, but it ultimately depends on what you want to after the degree!
how did you get your first commercial job?
Best suggestions if you have an unrelated undergrad and no science background but would like to make a career transition into biotech/possibly medical devices or research areas? What type of degree do you think is best to get there? Thanks.
really depends what type of research, but I personally find chemistry or chemical engineering to be a really great foundation for the R&D space.
Hey. I am a Bachelor in pharmacy graduate. I am thinking of applying for masters in biotech. And I really want my career to be research oriented rather than clinical. I wanted to know if you need to give any licensure exam after completing your masters to work in biotech like pharmacist license or not.
it really depends on which country you live in & the fact that biotech is an extremely broad field. For example if you want to work in patient safety many individuals have some sort of pharmD or MD background. But if you want to work in marketing, you really dont have any specific licenses you need!~ For research specifically though, most individuals have at least a masters, but Im sure you can probably still find an entry level lab position with a bachelors!
Sister i am currently doing my bachelor's in biotechnology engineeeing. I love to be in drug discovery what should i choose for my masters please help me
I dont know if I should study pharmaceuticals or Biomedicine to gain a scientific foundation for a career in R&D, would you mind sharing your opinion on this?
As a biotechnologist I think you should go for biomedicine of you want to stay in R&D, remember that some of these jobs will be in the public sector instead of private
I think R&D is very broad. It really depends on what exactly you want to do. If you specifically want to work in a lab, I personally think as long as you have lab experience, the exact major doesnt matter too much. I would say when deciding look at the coursework and see which one aligns closer to what you want to do in the future!~
What is job scope for phd in biotechnology in Japan or korea
Hi everyone! I'm a student really interested in meat alternatives, and considering studying both food science and biotechnology, anyone has advice on which to pick?
Hihi! It really depends on what you want to do after but my first thought is that biotech might be the more “useful” degree giving you more options later. Ie you can work in food science with a biotech degree, but might be more difficult to work in pharma or biotech with a food science degree. Really depends on what aspect of food science you want to work in too! For example in biotech we also cover testing and analytical services for food products! So there is definitely overlap! Hope this helps!!
Is it possible to get into biotech trough medicine?
hey was just watching your video and tbh I'm a 20 year old I took a gap year because I couldn't decide which field to choose in BS i always wanted to become a doctor and going through same phase as yours but now my family told me to do CS instead but tbh I'm interested in biology Nd I told my parents I wanted to do biotechnology but they told me it's not a highly paying job and tbh with you in my country biotechnology isn't very promising so I'm really confused I just can't figure out anything!!! but after watching your video I'm thinking I should really go for biotech!!!!!
omggg no way cuz we have the exact same situation, except I'm 17 and just graduated from high school. Im having a complete career choice crisis and rn biotech is one of the options.
@@mahafalahieh4354 seriously I'm so much confused. Everyone gives me a different advice and at this point im having existential crisis!!!!!! In my mind I always knew I wanted to become a Dr but now its all so messed up!
@@inthemiddle11 bro samee, i really wanted to go into mbbs but im a cbse student and i have to take NEET which is a really hard entrance exam to get into mbbs but if i wanted to do NEET i'll have to take a gap year to prepare for it and i really really don't wanna waste a whole year, im ganna feel miserable studying all day everyday while my friends r already in college, so now i really don't know what to do. 😭😭😭

I'm preparing for NEET for 2 yr. I just gave my boards. but I'm not sure if I'll get selected this year or not.
I want to pursue p pharma or biotech. I haven't filled the cuet form yet. I'm so confused . I don't know what I want to do
But I think b pharma is better than btech. Biotechnology because in India we don't have much exposure to Biotechnology yet
@@Sugarr17 did you applied for biotech...and you can study biotech in germany and they pay really well....
I had done Bachelors CSE in specialization of AI, can I go ahead and do masters in BioTech? Would it fetch me a good paying job?
It depends. To be honest, tech will pay just as much if not more than biotech so it really depends on your personal interests!
Do you have any advice for what to do after your undergraduate? ^^
I would say it depends on your interest! The majority of the roles I listed in the video don’t require additional education. The main difficulty in my opinion is breaking in. A lot of large pharma companies have 2 year trainee programs that are really great!
Consider doing a coop or summer internship with any biotech/pharma company you can (ideally research you like but any experience is good tbh and doesn’t matter too much in my experience. They just want to know you are familiar with the work environment and can keep up). Doesn’t help if you’ve already graduated but I did less than a year in a lab for a research hospital and that was enough to switch to bio pharma.
ماهو عملك الان هل مازلت تعمل في التكنولوجيا الحيوية ام ذهبت الى مجال أخر
If I was to get a degree in pharmacy is it possible to branch into biotech?
Yes of course! Lots of people working in pharma in the patient safety department come from pharmd backgrounds 😊
Is biotechnology anf plant genome and biotechnology the same?🥺
Biotech is a very broad term. I would say Plant genome is an understudy that falls under biotech if that makes sense~
haii ricee can i ask if the major biotechnology u took is the same as molecular biotechnology? thankss!
Hi there! ❤ it depends on the specific curriculum of the school but more or less many of the core classes overlap! I don’t think specific majors matter too too much as long as it’s a life or physical science! (Ex. You can go into biotech as an biomedical engineer, molecular bio major, chemistry major, etc!)
For example __ Which of these three fields is good in Germany?( Nursing )( Pharma D ) or ( biotechnology )please replay ❤
To be honest, I have no idea about the industries in Germany :'( But all of those you named are promising careers in the US!~
Is it easy to get a job after btech biotechnology?
It depends on the role & which country you’ll be working in! But at least in the US the job market is not bad for biotech. So many companies are constantly hiring for roles! 😊
Hi rice, what is your job role is it data science or bio with ML??
Hey there! My role is in Commercial operations! Pretty similar to data science but slightly less data heavy!~
Thanks for the response😊..I am a btech biotechnology graduate I am planning for datascience carrer in healthcare companies is my plan good. And if it is what's the sarting package would be and is mtech degree required or developing skills is enough?
@ricezhangg please do reply and please do give roadmap for your job..
@@TIMOTHYR-rr5vshi there! Sorry I didn’t see this! Pls tag me next time so I get a notification 😊 starting packages highly vary by company, normally big pharma will pay a lot better than start ups. In terms of road maps, it really also depends. A lot of people start out at BDs which makes it easier to pivot into other roles, but you can go straight into other roles as well depending on your previous experience!
What does BD stand for?@@ricezhangg
I am your new subscriber ❤❤You videos are so good. Thank you Can i become biotechnologist if i take bachelor degree in biology.?? Pls answer😢
I think it depends! If you are referring to research you can definitely get a job with a bachelors degree. However, most individuals in my experience normally have a masters of PhD. But I think it depends on what exactly you mean by biotechnologist!~
@@ricezhanggthanks.🥰🥰 i am sorry😅. But i mean can i get a job if i taka bachelor and Master’s degree in biology.
@@snoowieowl4682ahh yes of course! Why not! Biotech is very broad so a biology degree would definitely make you qualified! You don’t even need a science degree! Let’s say your good with numbers and do finance! That’s completely possible too! I think it just depends on the specific role your looking for!~
Do you have advice for someone going in for a masters in genetics and molecular Biotechnology?
I would say start thinking about which aspect of the industry you want to go in now. Your internship during the masters program will be a big jumping board into your first job post grad (unless you have prior working experience before you started your masters)
bitch i love it
gotta get that $$$
So the jobs you have been talking about are only offered at Masters level or we could work after getting bachelors degree?
Most of them are both. (It doesnt hurt to have a masters, but you dont need one)
Thank you!
!!!
Can i pursue mtech food technology after btech biotechnology?
I’m not too familiar with the food tech space, but unless it’s a highly technical role, I don’t see why not! You should still be qualified to apply for the job! And even if you aren’t 100% qualified, still apply! You never know 😊
There is one God, who created Heaven and Earth. He made us in His image and likeness. He made us to worship and we chose to rebel against God. As a result we are seperated from God but God didn’t leave us. Instead God sent His one and only Son, His Son is Jesus. He was born of a virgin and lived a life without sin, though He was tempted in every way as we are. He went on the cross and He willingly took our sins past, present and future. Jesus died in my place for my sins, paying my debt to God and purchasing my salvation. Jesus died but He rose on the third day victory over satan, sin, demons and hell. Jesus tells us to share this story of the Good News and there’s a God that lovingly pursues us. Jesus is coming to judge the living and the dead and those who trust in God will forever be with Him in His Kingdom and those who do not will suffer forever in hell.
